So I picked up some Cellucotton rayon from Sally's today, and have rewicked three times now on my kayfun. Doing a side by side with cotton on my Russian. So far, the cotton is outdoing it with flavor and vapor production. Throat hit on the rayon is more, but I'm not really concerned with that. The rayon is giving me way more dry hits too.

What am I missing? Do I need more Rayon? Less? Currently just wicking it as if I would my cotton (not too thick, through the coil).

Well.. I just started using this today.. but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you need more -- maybe double or nearly double the amount of cotton you would use, because it doesn't swell, it kinda compresses or shrinks when it's fully saturated. Because there really is a huge difference in vapor production, even with high-PG juices, and flavor/throat hit, even at lower power, but it can take higher power much better than cotton and then it REALLY vapes!

Some have said it needs time to "break in", some have said the opposite. The only time I noticed any kind of weird taste or break in period was when I also replaced the coil, not just the wick.

its not as hard as you might think.....i did a couple of kf's with tencel before sally's.. what i did was before the chimney goes on,
you wet the wick good and paste it to the walls even with the deck, then after the chimney tube goes on, look down into it and reposition whatever wick tail got moved from putting on the tube.....its not that bad and youll like the vape!!

Thanks for the tip!

I got my Tencil order (Halcyon Yarn) They shipped fast! Also came with quite a lot. A whole "sandwhich" sized ziplock bag full for $7.11 (including shipping)
I did a little test with it and I do think I will like it. However, I do prefer my stuff boiled before use so I'm waiting for that to dry before I really dive into it.

Ok. I have been having trouble with my cc coil on my cyclone on a Reo...I've tried more, less, longer tail, shorter tail...is it normal to have to rewick everyday? I do use 100% vg. The flavor and vapor production is good. But I'd notice a decrease in flavor in a day and my wick looked like it's burned in the middle where the coil is...maybe there's a problem with my coil? 1ohm 28g 1.5mm. Here's one of the wicks that I end up pulling in just a few hours...maybe because I'm chain vaping too much I haven't give it time to cool down between vape?

Don't get me wrong. I like the flavor and vp when it works. It's just a little weird when others seems to say cc last longer but I'm rewicking everyday...

I think that if you're getting burnt bits by the coil then it's not wicking properly. Maybe there's too much wick? Could be the high VG too. I don't use a REO so I don't know for sure what it is/could be. All I know is that when my wick looks like that it's because the coil isn't being saturated, which causes the wick to burn where the coil is.

egrets, I've only been using CCr for 3 days, but I've been following the thread since the day it showed up. Enough folks have either commented about or posted pics of how clean their wicks were after rather large amounts of e-liquid.

So I'll make a calculated guess what's wrong. Rayon seems to be excellent at transporting the liquid to the coil. It behaves when wetted in a way that's almost the direct opposite of cotton. It gets smaller instead of larger. You don't want to twist it because that reduces the wicks ability to transport the juice. So the best wick for a bottom feeder would be a tail long enough to always be touching the deck with a bit more to sop up extra from the squonk but away from the entrance hole so when you get the reverse suction after the squonk it won't have the liquid drawn out. Within the coil itself you want it packed tight while dry then you'll want to check once you've thoroughly wet it to make sure it's in contact with all of the coil, that the shrinkage hasn't pulled it away from the wick.

That's because I'm guessing that you're not getting a wet enough wick and caramelizing the e-liquid on the bits of extra hot dry coil. That's why its so dirty after so little.

Even in my short time with it I've seen an amazing reduction in the nastiness just a fill or two does in my Kayfun. With cotton, with the e-liquid I use, the wick was so dark brown it looks black and the coil had some buildup on it. Not so with the rayon. Which keeps bringing me back to hot spots on the coil or some other reason to make the coil dry. Twisting the rayon could do it too or in addition to your problem.

Hope you get it working.

I don't want to say thinner BC you gotta keep your wick filling out your coil diameter, but you may want to shorten them up a bit I build mine so the tail, I'm running a single coil right now, acts as a dam if you will it gets juiced and created a pool which satiates the wick then allows for the excess to suck back in to the bottle.

Keeping in mind I run shorter wicks and squalk more often BC I prefer fresher juice each hit, and I can only do this because I've become good at squawking

I don't mind squonking every vape but it seems like there's a problem with the excess juice not going back down the bottle....I might wick up my Rm2 tomorrow to see if that would work better than the cyclone.

Thanks!

i have been so excited with rayon that ive been playing around with all kinds of funky builds.
once people get used to this stuff, youre going to see alot of new things done to atties that havnt been tried before.
this stuff wicks so well that you can go higher and push the envelope to what youre used to.
i see only bigger and better things with rayon!!!!!

might have to try low ohm dual coil on the kayfun next!
