Has anyone used this as a single wick in the Taifun GS? That long distance to travel from where the wick tails pop into the tank all the way to the coil... haven't found a great way to wick despite my different attempts. 2 best were SUPER thin amount of cotton or 2mm RxW. Both took a bit of priming, but neither were ideal.

I was using too much wick at first and had muted taste and taste of the rayon. I was over compensating for the "use twice as much" matras I was reading. After my third try I got the density down and all is amazing.

I think it's only "too much" if it just won't fit thru the coil. :D The coil in my caterpillar is very large, 1/8 or 9/64, can't recall, so I grabbed a real chunk of the rayon, thinking I'd need that much, but it just wouldn't go. I pulled off just a little of the edge and tried it again, and I got it to go thru, though I was doing that thing Jeremy mentioned, pulling it end to end to straighten it, to get it to go thru without bunching. And that pina colada in the caterpillar with rayon wick... just scrumptious. I can get away with the flavors of sweet drinks like that, because I never drank them when I was a drinker, they were much too sweet, would have made me sick. Actually I think the taste of Pina colada is what I always imagined hawaiian tropic suntan oil ought to taste like. :D

Earlier today, I re-wicked the Kayfun you see in the picture above. Again, I so as not to change more than one thing at a time; I didn't re-coil it. It has a totally conventional horizontal 28 gauge 5/64" contact coil in it, about 1.3 ohms, and I usually run it between 10 and 11 watts with a blend of juice that's primarily Boba's, with a bit of unflavored WTA base and a bit of Halo Belgian Cocoa mixed in. This juice cruds up a cotton wick and coil rather quickly and I normally have to dry burn and re-wick after 3-4 refills. Again, I got the "off" taste at the beginning; but it went away about as quickly as the new cotton wick taste would.

I guess I'm going have to try less dense wicks the next time, but in the meanwhile: I love the way the rayon Cellucotton wicks, and I love the quantity/quality/texture of the vapor it produces. As for flavor, the "off" taste went away quickly enough, but my impression right now is that flavor seems a bit more muted than with the KGD cotton I was using previously. Might that also be due to having made the wick too dense?

Hey Rossum, Nice to see you.

There is a density when everything pops and you shouldn't have any off taste or break-in. Very quickly you'll pick up on it. Just go a little less in making these wicks if you get a coil dry hit its because you didn't use enough and it's not touching the coil fully. When its just right you'll know it. It'll pop out at you. Flavor wise.

But it only took 3 try's. I know cotton took me a whole lot more than that.

When I wicked with cotton it seemed smaller to give it room to expand. With this what I put in looks twice as big as The cotton Iused. So I hind sight the density of cotton people use varies

Question for the group. I have 490 feet of excess cellucotton I would like to share. Should we start a new "share" thread? Or do it here?

Something like: I live in xxx, yy and I have z feet for sale at A cents a foot. Or just give it away.

On the other hand it may be against forum policy. I'm just asking.

This stuff is great in a KF, mini-dripper and and Igo-l. I am so pleased.

Now to repurpose that cotton mop head. hehe

I was thinking similar things. But this thread is only a month and half old... But we Sure could use a rayon wick subforum to add a bunch of different topic threads. Q&a, research, PiF, ect.

Currently it's on an ask and tell basis. It's so cheap its ridiculose and its only 48 cents to send a good sized sample. Most will do it by good nature to spread the love.

Yesterday, I happened past a Sally's in my travels and couldn't resist.

Walked and the cutie immediately asked me, "Can I help you find something?"

"Yes, please, I'm looking for some beauty coil, it's called 'CelluCotton', but I need the stuff that's rayon, not cotton."

So she asks me (in the standard SW VA drawl): "Are you fixin' to bleach some grout?"

"Huh?"

She then proceeded to explain that people occasionally come in looking for the rayon (not cotton!) beauty coil to soak in Clorox and then apply to dirty grout lines for a while. Apparently the rayon tolerates the Clorox better than cotton. OK, learn something new every day. But I disabused her of the notion that I have dirty grout and explained that I was going to try using it as wicking for my electronic cigarette and showed her my dibi OliveR.

OK... All night I'm sitting around marveling at how great this is.... RBAs and rayon wicks; then you post this, and I'm excited even more. My bath tile has terribly filthy grout, ands it's on my honey-do list to clean/re-grout This thread just keeps getting better.

I threw Sally's in an existing 1ohm single coil I had sitting in my fogger v2, wicks just like a taifun, and it's great one wick streight across little hanging out into the tank, nothing but perfect vape.

Just another reason why usps stinks. Regular first class for a letter size envelope has a limit of 1/4" thickness, otherwise you have to pay extra if the thickness of the envelope is over 1/4". I tried flattening the CC down as flat as I could get it, but in a letter size envelope it still was over 1/4" in thickness.

Some post offices will turn a blind eye and let it slip thru with just one stamp on it, but others can be real stinkers and ask for the increased postage.

My mailman at my parents house where I received an envelope, stuffed pretty good thanks again AmandaD! Keep in mind I've known this guy for 25 years, he came to the door and said he needed $1.83, I siht you not, I almost didn't get it BC he didn't have change for a 20.

Hes a great guy and we had a good laugh about it but common usps, go out of business already!

the Taifun Gt I think is the same as the fogger v2. The Taifun gs is smaller than the gt. Also different style wicking. It comes up from the bottom and goes down to the coil in a big U.

The Taifun gt ... i love that thing so much. The gs, I really want to love. Would be great to pair with my VV V3 for on the go.

blowing up on facebook too, I've been having some fun over there with the naysayers who are trying to warn people of the dangers. But then even the naysayers change their tune and decide to go out and buy some LOL. For a joke I said that the latest rumor was that cellucotton this was satan's wick, and the ecf thread which is often spoken of and linked to was started by the fda in an attempt to poison people, and then really crack down with rules and regulations. LOL. At the end of the day, we were just telling the saviors " go save somebody else"

I belong to the Obsessive Cotton Disorder fb group. Do you suppose they would kick me out if they knew I was here?

Do we need a fb group or is this "the place" to be?

I like it here, there's always so much going on, all over the forum! This place might qualify as a nation unto itself! Vapenation!

And I really am loving this rayon, and I do think a slight reduction in nic level may be warranted. Dang it. I just mixed up a bunch today, and it's about 9.5mg, for daytime, and around 7mg for evening. I've now got all my in-use attys re-wicked with rayon except one of my Mini PT II's with apricot/vanilla in it. That can wait, I've got that terrific Pineapple Express, which I supplemented with an extra-flavor-shot Pineapple from ECBlend with a cool shot. It's awesome, just the thing when I first wake up.
