My dumb self accidentally took quite a large toot at the local vape shop today using CC as the wick through the coil, my buddy wanted a "demonstration" at the wrong time (my dripper was a little dry lol), and I have to say the Rayon held up really well for the frankly
really hot build I have in it (0.1 ohm, 8 wraps on 1/16th" bit, using 22ga Gplat elite wire) which basically heats up instantly.
I won't sugarcoat it and say it was fun, because it did taste really similar to burning cotton, and just a hint of something different, it reminded me of when I (drunkenly) lit the wrong end of my cigarette before I quit, which is probably a similar cellulose. Now I've never had it burn on me before because the stuff wicks so darn well, it never even gets toasted while normally vaping, but I took a big confident puff this time

. It was enough to slightly brown the area wicked through the coils, but it didn't cause me any lung irritation like cotton usually does, just a bad taste, and a quick headache which was strange. I wouldn't exactly recommend it for cloud competitions lol, but for every other aspect, it really does shine. I've been using it for "big vapor" setups since I purchased it one month ago and didn't have any issue until this one extreme situation.
So what I'm getting at is, I wouldn't recommend it for "extreme" setups, like sub-ohm builds, or just builds that can heat up fast when they suddenly run out of juice. That slight headache was different from a cotton burnt hit I hate to admit, but I still want everybody to know regardless, I was a stupid guinea pig in this situation, your welcome

. I am wondering what the headache was caused by though, whether it was simply a small amount of burnt cellulose material, or a substance released by the extreme heat. This particular wick wasn't boiled, dried, or rinsed etc., just for the record. Be safe y'all!
