You are right, it totally doesn't matter if it was made with highly caustic, poly-syllabic chemicals.

Dat river in Egypt tho...have you read that recent reddit thread, sir?

well then dont use it....are you the wicking police now?
and who cares what they say in reddit....since when were they the absolute authority on vaping....
theres more harmfull chemicals in your juice so you just better quit vaping and lock yourself up in a bubble

I look forward to Jeremy's response.

There are equally devastating posts about issues with cotton. (Ever notice those little brown spots in Koh Gen Do cotton)?

No matter what you're vaping on, it's not good for you.

Side note: what do you think pesticides are? Even organic cotton suffers the effects of chemicals that are very harmful if inhaled. So let's talk about that river in Egypt, sir!

Those little brown spots are seeds. It says so on the box :)

And if I see one in the wick I remove it. They have a seedy taste :)

Correct; it doesn't matter what it was made with, the only question of pragmatic value is whether any hazardous chemicals remain in the product we're using. If you think otherwise, read up on how nicotine is extracted from tobacco and then go back to smoking, OK? ;)

Shhh... you're partially taking away from my point. Though I think my side note sums it up pretty well.

Oh, you ingest those things? No doubt.

Stay in denial boys, Using synthetics under those heat loads and ingesting what comes off.

Spin it any way you want...peace of mind is priceless.

TheSystemHasFailed,

I hate to disappoint you but Rayon is not a "Synthetic" it is reconstituted cellulous i.e. all natural.

If you don't like the chemicals that are used in the processing you had better look into the chemicals use to make Olives, Grits and Hominy eatable not to mention the chemicals that are used to turn Apples and Tomatoes red to appear ripe when they are totally not ripe... just a chemical allusion (unless you think ripe tomatoes are as hard as a baseball).

Err, isn't kanthal an alloy containing aluminum? Better start making wickless coils out of nicrome, can't be too safe you know.

Maybe I'll suck air through my Stillare next to a wild field of tobacco, not sure where I'll find that field but I'm sure its safe.

Maurice

Maurice,

I'll bet a cup of Joe that the chemicals coming off out attys are no worse than the chemicals in the air coming thru the air port and mixing with our vapor no matter what "TheSystemHasFailed" says.

Personally I really like my vapes when I am stopped behind a Big Diesel Truck it sort of adds a little zing to the flavor and the aroma is just heavenly. :D

So my buddy at a local B&M gave me some rayon a while back to try out. Tried a few times and got this odd taste every time. But I found this thread a couple of days ago and tried again today and man I see what yall have been talking about now. Was using too much trying to pack it thru like cotton.

IIKEVOII,

Just an opinion but with the rayon if you go with what you think is a ridiculously inadequate amount you are better off than starting at the over-stuffed end of the spectrum.

By starting at the small amount of rayon end you can always look for the rayon collapsing away from the coil with use and correct by rebuilding the coil with just a tad more ray. When overstuffed and it is not working right you have nothing to observe as an indicator.

One other habit I had a hard time kicking was don't twist it to make it fit. The only part I twist is the very tip of one end to get it started into the coil like threading a sewing needle.

HolmanGT,

You have no idea how that reminds me of smoking in the motor pool around the Abrams and Bradey lines while they warmed up in the morning, ahh the sweet smell of raw power and not quite perfectly burnt diesel. Similar to a truck rest stop late at night on a cold winter night.

To be honest though, I've yet to have a vape around such wonderful odors. But ... I am about to embark upon a 36 hour road trip, I will find that heavily populated truck stop and reminisce about both this thread and old times.

I've been working 14's all week, then they wanted me to be on call on the 4 th. Good thing I got out of that. I will have to see what all this nonsense is about later tonight.

Nothing of substance here, sorry.

Humm! Kinds smells like Ft Hood!

KnifeMakers

I am more recalling Ft. Bliss 3rd ACR, and Fulda Germany 11th ACR, a bit of Ft Erwin (visited with 3rd ACR and 2nd ACR), and a splash of Iraq spiced up with a dash of Saudi Arabia. There was that one time in Bosnia too, but those were infantry vehicles if I recall and only for a moment or so.

Good times, at least that's what I can say now. I seem to remember lots of not so fun times, but now those are story telling material.

Andy, I sure hope you mean RAYON. The box should say 100% rayon.
