Does it wick like the Heron, with the wick folded over and the loop going up the upper chamber? Maybe you can just anchor it at the loop with a little fluff. Then it would stay upright even when the rayon turns to jello.

I've been seeing stuff all over about cellucotton but never wanted to go order any since I had a big ol sack of cotton. I just read today (like a lot of others have) that Sally carries it. I have a Sally right down the road so I said why not and snagged a box, I am amazed by this stuff, now my feelings for cotton are the same as silica. I guess in a couple of months I'll move on to the Japanese cotton when the next big thing hits, im always so damn far behind!

Yeah rayon came up from no where. A completely different substance that's truly unique.
Cottons been around for a long time, kgd is just another incarnation of it.
Rayon has only taken off in the last 3 months and you are at the tip of the spear using rayon.

Hey guys... So I accidentaly found out about rayon and since I have been using my KFL+ with organic cotton for over 6 months now without an issue, I want to experiment with it. I usually make a 1,4-1,5 ohm microcoil on a 2mm blue screwdriver (or 5/64 drill bit) and I was wondering if it is more difficult to build. When I build my kayfun I cut the cotton, place is on the walls and then put the "chimney" on. Will I have any problems with rayon?

I just sold my two-week old Spheroid v3 because I couldn't get it to work with a rayon or cotton wick. Only a loop of silica had the springy-ness to maintain contact with the fluff. version 3 spheroid screws together and will push the rayon wick down and away from the fluff. Happily the bigger Heron works fine with rayon and gives me a great juicy vape. Here's my Heron without the cotton cap:
I have a friend some rayon BC, well that's what you do with it. He insisted on giving me a couple Kgd pads BC, he thought it was awesome.. I used the Kgd to wipe juice off my mod...
Kgd is for sure the best cotton... But that's just it, it's cotton, not rayon.
No bro, it's just a little different, not harder to use, and it's functionality way better, in every way.
Makes me feel like the best 11 bucks I've spent on vaping. The only thing I don't like is the texture. I've always had issues with cotton texture, and this stuff is worse, lol. Guess I'll have to deal with it.

More difficult, no. Different from cotton, yes. Use the thread search if you get stuck, tons of good info here on Kayfun wicking. In general, wick like you would with cotton using more so the coil is nice and full but not overstuffed. Trim the tails just like you have been but as an extra step remove about 75% of the tail by an angle cut vertically and horizontally from tail end to coil. That should get you 'real close' to start.

Ok, just wanted to share some pix. I am using a Plume Veil and although the tails are somewhat thin, certainly not the thinnest I have used with a dripper. However, with this dripper the airflow tends to deform the wicks (air flowing underneath). I have taken a toothpick and tended to these wicks all night long. I don't really like to have to do this and perhaps it is time to go back to a fuller wick with rayon and drippers. Still learning here.
Here's one side. Kind of looking a little collapsed. This is the thinner one. I have been monkeying around with these wicks all afternoon.
Here's an end shot. Getting close to full collapse but actually, not quite there yet.

Had to dry burn my coil after 13 tanks on my orchid (approx 26 to 30ml).
Juice used: NT's strawnilla, wakonda and creme brûlée.

Just a thought I'll throw out there, what if you left the positive leg of your coil long, sticking through the center post and drape the tail over it to keep it up off the deck? You could bend that extended leg to where you need it, it won't get hot so no worry about it burning the wick.

Hmm. Well, imo. that would only exacerbate the situation of the wicks being lifted off the deck by airflow. Thanks for the idea though.
What's all this about the wick "collapsing"? I've not heard if this before but I've had the same issue after refilling my tank.
Oh, sorry, I thought you were trying to prop them up in the middle. No wonder I thought that was odd LoL. Well along the same line you could use the leg to keep the wick down toward the deck.
