It's funny how personal preference comes into play with this stuff. I've never had a kayfun leak, and find it much easier to refill than a carto tank. I don't mind sucking out the juice with a syringe if I wanna rebuild or rewick, just takes a sec, and I'd much rather deal with that than a ceramic, nr/r wire, etc. Now, that being said, I'm actually considering a sophia or diver to get some of my pretty tanks back in the lineup.

KF's setup properly don't leak unless you change pressure. My daily change in altitude during my commute is enough to make KF's leak. Also, if you hold it in the wrong position in your hand while you walk, the swinging motion of your hand can make it leak.

With that said. I have 4 KF's, Russian, Taifun, 2 divers, 5 Sophia's, 5 different Gennys and over a dozen other tank type atty's. I've used them all. Side by side. I use 5 different attys almost every other day.

You're right it does come down to personal preference. I was only lending my preference after experiencing them all.

Totally right about the pressure thing, I live at sea level on the Florida coast. There's not a hill in a hundred miles, let alone anything tall enough to make a pressure difference. Out of curiousity, what's your take on the diver vs. the Sophia?

I guess there is nothing wrong with having two Provari on the desk loaded with a carto tank and one with an RBA on it. If I can learn do rebuild.[/QUOTE]
I got that covered lol: 2014-02-02 18.24.54.jpg

If you feel bad about atty clones, you'll have to get a genesis rba from Raidy. He invented them about 4 years ago.Everything else is a copy or clone of his invention. You'll need some wire, mesh and about 1 to 5min. of your time to rewrap your coil.Nails, screwdrivers, hemp, cotton, silica, g-strings,blue foam or anything else is unnecessary if you learn to build it correctly.Search the thread "all my mods" by Raidy. All you need to know is in there...Good luck

Diver v2 is much better than v1 but juice control on the Sophia wins. The ability to shut it down completely fixes all the leaking/flooding/gurgling issues even on airplane trips.

It seems there will be some debate on this but which is the easiest of all for the newbie that is fumble fingered?
They will all need some practice with building coils. My advice would be to actually get a real cheap RDA and just practice building coils.
RDA's like the IGO-L has a nice sized deck so you can build easier and they go for around $10. Once you get comfortable with coils and wicking then move on to your device.

Another vote for the IGO L. I have a KFun clone, AGA T2, Vivi Nova v2.5 (plastic tank), an IGO L, and a carto with Latakia flavored juice (g) sitting in my rack. I generally have a dozen plus different juices and I drip 8 drops into the IGO and vape away. Then grab another bottle, vape, etcetera... If the wick (cotton) gets too gunked up then I'll dry burn and re-wick. For me this works, but then I would probably prefer MadDog 20-20 to a $100.00 bottle of wine!!

I only skimmed through the other answers, so I may repeat.

You have stuff like the AGA-(whatever number it's on now) and the RSST. These are Genesis-style, and a lot fussy than some of the others. They use ss mesh and silica wick. But they are inexpensive to try.

Most of us ProVari owners have the Kayfun or Russian. The Russian is not really a clone because their design is smaller than the original and the don't use the logo. These need silica wick (or cotton) and kanthal wire. Much easier to set up.

Then since you are into carto tanks, you have the Killer, Diver, and Sophia. These are rebuildables for tanks. Andrew W and Todd both have good videos on the Sophia, which is what I am planning to try, soon as my budget allows. The nice thing about these is you can buy the wire, ready wire, from Stormy Vapor Cellar, or premade coils from By Leo. The difference here is this one is placed in a tank, replacing the carto. It has air flow control.

1) 5) Love my kayfuns. Not sure there is better performing, ease of setup, and zero leaks.

To the OP: Kayfuns don't leak as long as you stick to two rules, otherwise they will flood out of the airhole.

1) Do NOT inhale too hard. Open the airflow to get the volume of vapor you need. If you inhale too hard, it creates strong negative pressure in the chimney section where the juice channels are located (and the coil/wick), forcing too much liquid into the lower deck area, then it will flood down the airhole and out of the Kayfun.

2) Keep your rebuilt coil/wick setup at least 3mm off of the airhole. This can cause leaking also.

Changes in elevation will cause it as well.

This is tough deciding.

I want to try and avoid having a huge variety of types. That does not mean I don't want more than one of the same type.

I am one that only wants to have what I use.

I am stuck between deciding something I can use with my Vaperfextion tanks are starting from the ground up and go Kayfun. I am clutter phobic.

Pretty much the same as Ozwald and the Kayfun or a variation there off is easy to handle even for someone like me that has the patience of a microbe, just by reading comments I figured out that I can save the money for a Sophia I don't like warm vapes.

On the other hand I could just use a longer drip tip and that would take care of that so would a Diver v2.

The other thing to consider is should you decide on either Diver or Sophia you would get to keep using those gorgeous Vaporfexion tanks.

I ended up getting a Sophia to try out, and it's easier to set up than I thought it would be. I got some ready wire from Stormy's, the guy I bought the atty from sent me some cotton/hemp wick to try, and out of curiosity I got some ekowool when I ordered the wire. It's definitely a step up from regular cartos with either wick, though just from my initial couple builds I prefered the ekowool, seems to wick better with comparable flavor. I kind of wish I had a wire joiner so I could do a microcoil/cotton setup in there. My attempt at doing a microcoil with a ready wire was laughable. So far I still prefer the kayfun, but it's closer than I thought it would be, and the Sophia will definitely get used.

Hey guys, so I think I've decided I want to try a simple, wide deck, single coil RDA as my first attempt at rebuilding and dripping.
a lot of you spoke about the igo-L I read some reviews and it seems like people like it.

So my questions to you more experienced out there is:

1. Should I spend a bit more and get something better in the same small form factor? or stick with IGO-L
2. do I buy some silica wick or go straight to cotton?
3. A lot of people seem to like 30g kanthal for sticking around 2ohm @ 7 or 8 wraps, do you guys agree or should I go with 32g?

And last but not least, do you guys favor a particular vendor?

Thank you in advanced for taking the time to respond!

IMO, the IGO-L does the job, does it well, and does it cheap. No need to spend a bunch of money until you've tried the whole thing and decided whether or not you like it. Personally, I do microcoil/cotton builds. I find them easier than traditional coil/silica builds and get way better results. I do 8ish wraps of 28g, but I aim a little lower than the 2ohms you mentioned, so yeah, you'll likely be good with 30g. Discount Vaper is usually a good deal, if they are in stock. If not, just search around a bit, the IGO-L isn't hard to find, nor is a deal on kanthal. You can get your organic cotton from your local drugstore, one bag should pretty much last forever.
