Morning Cap'n and Crew! Web page is looking good. My scallywag is getting some serious use, I might have to join AG in selling off some of my other mods as they are just sitting there looking pretty.

I suppose if you would rather have the cash, what about a nice spot on the mantlepiece?

I noticed you had cedar available on your site, how sturdy is this type of wood? I tried to order a cedar wood mod several months back from two different makers and was basically given the same answer, too brittle to work with and not stable enough. What is your opinion on this type of wood?

Bahhh, BAhhh says I! .. it's a great wood to work, perhaps brittle, but not as brittle as ebony or rosewood. weak? no weaker than mahogany or others. A well applied initial coat of finish will seep into the wood and make it much stronger as well. These are delicate hand made exotic wood PV's, not baseball bats. Smells great too.

Hey!!!

Look...I won something cool...really cool!
I couldn't tell you the last time I won anything!

Thanks Cappy!

Let me know what you would like, or if you would like your Mark-IV done free... its all up to you matey!

Har har har ...

Captain Brian, I would be honored & proud to be the owner of #317.
Black walnut body with Cebruva end caps, dual Cebruva inlays.

Thank you a million times over!
Now that the taxes are done, I promise to get a Scallywag review done ASAP!
I may even go with a video review, if I can figure out how to do one!
A non-prototype Scallywag will make a nice piece to do the review with for you!

On the mantlepiece? Are you trying to get me killed? I tuck all of my treasures in my stash box and take them out one at a time, Spouse: "Is that a new mod?" V: "Why no, you must not have ever noticed it before."

I think we have all played that game at one time or another!

"Be that a new sword ye have me husband?" she asks...

"What? This old thing?" Says I, "Narrr me lovely, be an old one ye just never noticed methinks"

Thanks again, Captain Brian!
You make a beautiful mod...I'll do a nice review for you on the Scallywag.
The tweaks you did on the design were all it needed.

Come to think of it, I need to redesign those plain old things anyway, well, no time like the present, arrr...

Ahoy, weather be fit as a fiddle here, but I was born 'n raised in northern MN, so I feel your pain.... yuck ....

Me son borrowed me alarm clock last night, so of course I slept in wayyyy late ... I need to roll my hours back, getting up at 1pm is a bit ridiculous even for me, arrr....need to get it back down to at least 10am, har har har..

I'm going to spend the day cutting wood again, I'm building up a cache of precut bodies and end caps. When I need them to build or have a preorder all I should have to do is select the wood type I need and start sanding and gluing. Should cut at least a day or so off construction time for preorders.

Other than that, not much new here.

Drive careful in that snow now, be safe, arrr

Northern Minnesota, eh? Where? Duluth? Iron Range? Well, Oof Da! to you, cap'n. I lived in the Twin Cities for 25 years, most of my adult life. Now you reside in Florida and I'm on the Oregon coast. Ironic that we traded harsh climate on the stable bedrock of the Canadian Shield for warmer weather but much greater vulnerability, given the likelihood of increasing oceanic disturbances in the years ahead---earthquakes and tsunamis here, hurricanes and rising sea levels where you are. Oh well, we go where our life paths take us...

I still think that the Boundary Waters and Lake Superior are two of the most pristine and magical places I've ever been.

Yah, the Iron range, mud Lake to be specific, between Mt. Iron and Virginia... out in the sticks on a small farm.

When I was 16 and working on the farm, my Mom married a guy who moved us to Anchorage AK for some reason. When I turned 18 I joined the navy. 20 years later I returned to Minnesota, I could not believe how much it had changed.

The mining industry was nearly dead and so were the lakes. When I was a kid I remember hauling in stringers of fish it took two grown men to lift. All those are gone, now I would come back skunked except for a few runt pan fish. Even those you could only eat a few of because of the Mercury content. Leave it to humans to $#*&-up our own planet, good grief.

I've lived in alot of places, this area is nice, but.... might be time to move again in the next few years before I get TOO old to cope with another change in location. Fortunately if I am able to make a small living off these mods I can easily shift production to anywhere without missing a heartbeat.
