I got all the sanding done and all the boxes (besides the ones waiting on parts) are ready to be put together. Now everything comes to a sudden halt as I start to install inlays on them one by one. I have to decide on a pattern, cut out the inlays, glue them together, sand them flush, cut out the inlay channel in the box, glue them in and off I go to the next one.

It's a pain, but anyone can show a pic of a RSM box and I don't even need a serial number to know which one it is and what type. My little babies, arrrrr... take good care of 'em or I be comin for ye! Arrrrr

 I did go back and read it ALL!!! not much sleep or work done but I wanted to read the full evolution rather than the tidbids I had from peeking in on occasion. Cappy is amazing with how far he has come and his dedication to his customer.

So where do you have meets? I'm up in the high desert and sure would be nice to hang with other vapers.

I know what you mean... fascinating reading!!! :thumb:

As far as the meet-ups go... they just had one at a brick and mortar in Laguna Beach, and there is another group on Facebook that is having one in Glendora this Sat. Log In | Facebook

I have seen your posts in the group here, but I don't know if you have joined our FB group or not (SCVC)?? I set that up cuz it was easier to send out the invites from there... :2cool:

I don't do facebook....security issues.

You going to Vegas vapefest?

Keep a watch on the group here, and I'll try to let you know if I hear of anything else happening.

I'd LOVE to go to Vegas... but no money... :( and I even have a friend who lives out there, too.
Which is really a shame, not just to miss seeing the Vapefest, but because I have ALWAYS come back with winnings!!

Cappy are you putting any reco-stone inlays in the new MarkV's?? Thats what I want next!

Well, you get an answer with a story. I was pondering how to price the mods. How to average a price because often one gets more work than another, more intricate inlay, or recon-stone and another is more plain. Then it occurred to me that I list the mods individually on the website, why not judge the box by the amount of work and materials and adjust the price accordingly. So if someone wants a basic model without inlay at base price than can get one. If they want fancy, that will be available too :)

The Mark-V 'Cutlass' is going to be the top of the line for me for now. I think they will have a limited color scheme, Deep black (Wenge), Bright Red (Padauk), Purple (Purpleheart) and maybe one other color. They will all have shiny switches and CC, plus LED voltage displays and be more shapely than the regular Mark-IV. They all get fancy recon-stone inlays and will be priced higher than the Mark-IV, for people who like the high-end mods.

Cappy, any luck finding abalone for inlays? Seems fitting for one of your vessels;-) Me likes abalone as much a shiny things.

I am looking at more and more things to broaden my inlay choice and that is something I have been looking at. This is a neat site to browse, they have lots of shiny stuff :p

No no my dear VV, let me 'splain ...

Yarrr, is kind of a non committal utterance. You can also use it as Yarr? or Yarrr! depending on inflection.

Arrr...is just clearing your throat, getting ready to talk. Sometimes ending a sentence. Arrrr....

arrgg is primarily used when the first mate walks by and sticks your foot with his peg-leg peg.

Thump .. thump .. thump .. stab .."Argggg!"

Just sayin....

VV, what a sweet thing ya have there. Love the inlay!

WW....SWEET! Is that padauk? Very nice. Was it hard to round the corners? Looks perfect!!!

TYVM! I just used what was available....A orbital palm sander with 60 grit to shape it,and good ole hand sanding with lighter grits to finish it up. Took a few beers, and a couple hours:)
