Sheesh... about that instruction manual...?

Seriously though, there must be a battery/multi meter/spacing guide somewhere in ECF. Anybody seen one?

and i post this one, not to be a kiljoy, but to suggest treating batteries with respect
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/site-feedback-help/76247-exploding-mods-feedback-thread.html

there are also threads out there that show the disharge rate comparisons for different batteries, but i haven't four that yet.
my suggestion is stay away from purchasing batteries from deal extreme (they often get b grade batteries) and some of the flame jacket batteries have been counterfits recently. (see the COV thread for more info on that)

There's so much information out there, and much of it is conflicting, it puts to many spiders in my head. LOL. You can tell when a protected or IMR cell is gradually falling off and time to change with a standard unregulated device. With a VV regulated device, all will be good then you will get a couple of weak puffs, then bam nothing & time to change out batts.

Regarding lengths. The battery manufacturers are terrible about staying within spec guidelines. Like an 18650 is supposed to be 18mm OD and 65mm long. I have some that are 4mm longer. I've got 18350 that are supposed to be 35mm long measure out at 38mm. and when you stack them that's 6mm past spec.....sheesh. Kinda hard to stick a 76mm pair of batts into a 73mm space. That's why I say, pity the poor mod maker.

Thanks tybin for finding the links and pointing out about the countefit trustfire flame thread. Sheesh, using two different cells and throwing on funky pcb and a flame shrink-wrap to make a 14500 and a quick extra 30 cents.
FWIW, I've had a ego batt go off on me once. It wasn't very pretty and one reason I prefer the AW IMR's.

i've had pretty good luck with the aw brand being consistent in length.
another thing to note is that some cheap brands claim to give off 300mah, but it just aint true

aw and redilast have the quality control behind them. they have panasonic cells. they are more pricey but....

LOL tybin. And I totally agree with what you said about AW quality and consistency. I don't bother to buy any other brand any more. As a Southern boy would say. Lesson has done been lernt. :)

edit:Oh, and do I have a drawer full of UF, TF, BRC, BDL batts in almost every conceivable color ? The answer would be yes.

It's funny folks will spend a lot of money on a mod then cheap out on the batts. BTDT. I supposed you don't know what the "good stuff" is till you try for yourself. The mAh rating really warps thinking and is a load of ____. The batt is the energy firing the atty. That's where the real magic comes from.

KISS; AW IMRs in the RedSky and you'll be golden :)

Couldn't agree with you more Taz!......AW IMR's are the gold standard of batts...
don't understand people will pay 175.00 -200.00 for a mod.....
then buy cheap batts to save .50 -1.00 a batt...:?:

Yeah... Looks like mine made it all the way from Florida to Seattle in one day.
I might be able to get it tomorrow if it arrives.
I just gotta cross the border which is 20 min away.
