good day all.I am wondering cap,if these vv will run dual coil carts at 6.0 or will they cut off at 4.6 like the darwin due to the darwin only reading one coil and not both..And if they dont cut-off,do they come without the bottomfeed mod?I want to use a tank and wouldnt have need for the bottle..
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

BTW very nice looking mods.

Hey all!,

Just writing to thank Cappy publicly.... I had received a Cutlass a few weeks back and was having some problems with it. I initially (and still cannot believe its not) thought it was user error. I had been using the Vapage bottom feeding atomizers and silos and thought maybe my center post got jacked up. My mod would only fire if the cart was very loosely screwed in. I contacted the Captain about this and he didnt even ask questions,,,,it was still under its warranty,,,send it and he would fix it. Come to find out it was a hot wire to the atomizer connector was intermitten.... Point is He would of fixed it in a very quick manner and gotten my baby back to me regardless of user error or not. I just want to say to anyone thinking of buying one of these....Do it... Not only are they absolutely stunning and complete wood working genius.... They work like champs... and if they don't.... Which I would have to get some numbers but I bet the percentage of problems with any of his work is something like .05%.... Captain Brian really comes through with the customer service fixes your product quickly and has you back sailing with your RSM in no time. So thanks captain and keep up the great work!

Hi Cap'n,

I PM'd you a few days ago... hope all's ok.

when you have a minute, and you're back on the RSM's I'd live to hear back from you re ordering one/going on the list.

look forward to hearing from you again (we were in touch back in June)

Paul

Arrr, my apologies to the crew members on the pre-order list, but I need to step away from RSM building fer a few days and take care o' other business. Should only cause a few day delay to the batch I should think. Just wanted to keep you all informed.

I have used some Health Cabin brand 1.5ohm dual coil carts. I thought at first 4.5v would be more enough as they're dual coils, but of course, I ended up cranking the voltage up to around 5.5-6v. I still wasn't happy with these cartos so I stopped using them, but I'm sure you can use 6v on dual coil cartos since I tried it.

I didn't know about that issue with Darwin. I guess since you only have control over the output wattage on Darwin the safety circuit gets in the way when it's only recognizing the carto as 1.5 ohm? I mean the Darwin's safety feature is preventing the voltage going any higher thinking that the carto is single coiled 1.5 ohm.

Awefully sorry I haven't been on the thread much, trying to get a weeks work of things done in just a few days.

Just a note, my website is http://www.redskymods.com/, and there is an informative FAQ here on the thread, post #6379. For an example of how the preordering works, look up post #7881.

Pict#1-Got CNC machine in the shop, put it together, built a dust/noise enclosure, routed wiring and computer. Loaded up software and updated firmware/program. Wrote a couple CNC G-Code files then did some final tweaks and ran the program (pict#2), everything seemed fine so ran a couple more, then got bold and ran the "RSM Desk-Caddy" program on a chunk of Padauk (pict#3), gave it a coat of finish so I can throw it on my desk and use it, sigh...my feet hurt, been on them for 2 days straight but I'm almost done now.

#1 #2 #3

I decided to use a CNC machine on the repetitive work I have to do, especially if it is very exacting (end caps) and one slip would ruin alot of work. (I also ruined my savings account to do this) :p

People sometimes ask me if I am quitting soon and should they order 'now', just in case. No, I plan on being here for some time to come, it will only get bigger and better (I hope). RSM Ooh Rah! I mean, yo ho!

I've been asking $135 for the VV Wench, basically the price of a 3.7V Buccaneer with the added cost of the regulator tacked on.

The only blue county in Texas!
Oh my... a flame box elder caddie with macassar ebony somehow worked in.... *sigh*

On another note~
A pirate walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder and a steering wheel on his belt.
The bartender says, "Hey, you've got a steering wheel attached to your breeches!"
The pirate says, "Arrrrgh! I know! It's drivin' me nuts!"

Ok, gonna finally stop fer the night. Funny how I would cry and moan when an employer asked me to work a couple overtime hours, yet I can drive myself to 16-17 hour days and I only quit cause me poor ol' eyes are gettin blurry ...

The Desk Caddy was a little test program I put together, but I also know there was some interest. I have no idea on a price for them tho or the final style. One was made with a single bottle hole, the other I made with two, but it's just a matter of altering the program a bit. What do other people who make these things charge for em? I'm clueless on a price....

Off to me pit I go ZZZzzz...

I'm totally speachless captain...

It's always inspiring to see someone with passion at creative work regardless of genre. It's pretty incredible amount of work in different areas too, to think about it. Designing, wood work, electronic work, computer works of many kinds... not just the amount but also the level of expertise required for all those areas... from just one person.

Can you use that to precise cut end caps and other parts too? I hope that crazy looking machine saves you lots of time and effort so you can enjoy some flexibility of making more or working less.

Please don't work too much tho... we'd rather have you around long than seeing more happy RSM owners rapidly.
