I'm using SS canons or Dyingbreed's long 306 SS drip tips , Sailing Technology SR 306-es ( 2.8 ohm @ 5.5 ) , last me on average 2 months / piece with one weekly clean in 96 degrees double refined alcohol. When i hear "Cisco" i frown.. got 2 cisco 1.5s about a year ago and based on that i thought most 306es only dish out tons of heat and pretty much nothing else.

Ahoy, afternoon me 'earties, hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

@markfm

Arrr, yes indeed, they all get a coat of poly-urethane satin that penetrates and seals the wood & fills minor voids and open grains. Then they get a light sanding with 400 grit and another coat of poly.

Before I ship them out I also wax & buff them on a wheel, lately I've switched to carnuba wax to make 'em shine a bit more.

I'm no authority on paints and finishes, but seems to me If I put on a high gloss finish, no matter how many coats I apply the constant rubbing of fingers on it is going to wear through it leaving an appearance like a car with the clear coat coming off, really patchy and ragged looking. Heck, fingers will even wear through the chrome plating of a switch showing the brass underneath so I decided to give it a plain satin finish.

If all the wax is stripped off the mod it will still look satin and even finger wear won't show up much at all.

Howards feed-n-wax is definitely the best product we have found (short of a buffing wheel) so far for keeping up appearances :)

Howards is easy to get, convenient.

I won just before midnight Friday. Sat morning I ordered a big battery and some lr atties, from two different places. Everything shipped and is listed as expected delivery Mon. On a planned buy I couldn't expect things to come together so cleanly, never mind on an out of the blue generous gift.

Destiny in action. Time to quit the day job, take up a new career swabbing the decks :)

Break time ..

The rest of the regulators didn't arrive yesterday so I am finishing half the batch early. I decided to do the Destroyers and am putting the last finishing touches on 'em now. I might post them later tonight even. It's taking them buggers almost a week to get around to shipping the regulators to me, man, if I did that people would take me to task! Arrrrr, 5+ days to ship..lame...

That marblewood one is awesome!

It is pretty, I think I have a marblewood mod in almost every batch, easy to work with and beautiful with any end cap I put on it;
