I'm a chemist. Two things I note as I read through this thread, without going into unnecessary detail.
1) Cloudiness in a mixture indicates that one of the ingredients is not in solution due to it's insolubility in the solvent used; in this case a very polar solvent (water/PG/VG).
2) Carvone.

Hey entropy1049,

As a chemist yourself.....and having dabbled in organic chemistry myself.......couldn't you, if you were so inclined, run a sample of Pluid through mass spectroscopy or chromatography? Or perhaps gas chromatography coupled to a Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) ? Then just compare the unknown (Pluid) to various supposed flavors (one by one).

Am I cheating? I have a good friend who is an organic chemistry prof at a local college and I was thinking about trying to do this? I'm pretty sure it was mass spect we did. Its been so long.

It would be a fun project.

Your thoughts?

I've read this thread from A to Z. Only a few ideas here taken into account:

A) it's anise, not licorice (absinth flavour?)
B) it's not lemon, but maybe citric acid? (PG/VG diluted)
C) what's this polar separating layer in Pluid? Is it part of anise/absinthe flavor? I tried to vape this separate yesterday from my almost empty Pluid bottle and it's harsh...
As it separates well and I have access to NMR (my girlfriend is working on 500MHz) I'll give her 10mg for analysis :) Problem is that it might be quite complex mixture of organic compounds to identify and If you don't know what you're looking for...:( Standards would help, but it's time consuming puzzle...

I'd rather pay 7GBP for 10ml Pluid than search for hints for composition everywhere and try to make it DIY.
But there's only one EU vendor selling Pluid once a month for 2 minutes, usually at night.
I'm watching threads discussing this juice, waiting for any stock updates. And I was sooo happy when I succeed 2 weeks ago and purchased 100ml (!) from US libertyflights website. But then they cancelled my order. As they said, they can't ship nicotine to Europe :(( (It's strange as I'm buying juices from US almost every week without issues).

So,...I vaped my last 2ml of Pluid in Orion yesterday. Pluid was my all day vape for 1 month (I bought 80ml second hand for crazy price from France). Now is the time to forget this awesome juice and try something else as I'll hardly get some more from UK libertyflights without insane waiting for their stock up.

But I tried Magic Fairy, Black Fairy, Shocker, Black Licorice, own Ouzo mixtures....it's not Pluid

I have never tried Pluid, but I posted a recipe , and someone replied back saying it is close.

6% Absinthe
2% Horehound
3% Kiwi
2% Orange
2% Mandarin
2% Marshmallow
1% Licorice
1% koolada
18 mg nicotine
75% PG
25% VG

You can use orange, or mandarin alone, just adjust the percentage.
You can also use either absinthe, or licorice because they are very similar. I added licorice because I have it on hand. No logic there, I just made my recipe that way.
As for the marshmallow, I added it for a little sweetness. You may add different substitute that may be more available.
The koolada adds a little "kick" to it. A must have, if you can get it.

EDIT, EDIT, EDIT! Use this in a glass tank ONLY!

Has anyone nailed this recipe yet?

In the UK its not so easy to get the flavourings as you guys over the pond. So Knowing what we need in one order would be great.

Heres what Im ordering to give it a try. Bearing in mind its all come from UK vendors.

Libertyflights

Perfumers Apprentice: Horehound, Blueberry Candy, Anise. Decadent Vapours: Absinthe

leisureliquids

Perfumers Apprentice: Koolada, Lemon/Lime, Sour Flavour. Tasty Puffs: California Orange

I do have some flavourings here, like, liquerice, some fruits, vape wizard, DDL, Ethol Maltol, sweeteners, etc, but wondering what else I might need before I press the buy button.

It's a starting place. Mix small amounts, and test it out. The sour flavor, maybe, maybe not.

Be careful with the horehound... i guess 2% is alright bu no more... horehound is the Ludens cough drop flavor and more of a factor in Scorpion Blood imo... which is the closest to Pluid i've found, but no way as good imo. I only like it cut with Pluid or Cutter.

Pluid is quite sweet so don't be afraid of sweet...

Thanks for your help guys.

I guess I`ll leave the sour off the list then.

Been mixing for over a year so not afraid of experimenting with this.

i think he said sour is important; i would agree because there is a citrus undertone that makes it so good; adds to a pleasant complexity. unless by "kick" from koolada is something else; i sense it means sour-ish like ecto cooler which is what another recommended.

I don't see anyone mentioning Flavour Art Anise here. To me, it is the closest main ingredient in Pluid. Has the cloudiness that TPA doesn't have. I don't get Horehound in Pluid. Horehound tastes like Ricola cough drops or NyQuil. Similar but different. Anise, licorice, fennel, horehound, and of course absinthe flavors all share similarities because botanically they are related (for the most part). Someone start working with FA Anise and I'll take this thread more seriously. TPA flavorings are not very "pro". Ever wonder why batches of Pluid are so few and far between? Perhaps it's because a critical ingredient takes a long while to produce and ship. Anyone ever buy bulk from Flavour Art in Italy? Takes forever.

My most recent attempt since now I have actually tried Pluid but my bottle is almost gone and I am beginning to get the shakes so back to the cloning board.

Nic 10mg
PG 70%
VG30%
Absinthe TFA 14%
Strawberry Kiwi 3%
Orange FA 4%
Marshmallow TFA 1%
Licorice LA 1%
Apricot 4%
Max Dew 4%

This is the closest I have come. It is not there though. Pluid seems to coat the tongue more and has a stronger absinthe taste. It also seems sweeter. I added the Max Dew on a whim while I was mixing. I think I need a new absinthe.

This is totally vapeable though and will suffice until I am ready to spend money on pluid again.

Thanks a lot MM for making me a damn addict!!
