You have come to the right place :)

Congrats. Here's what I'd suggest:

REO grand (REOsmods.com) I think that one in the picture is raw aluminum.

RM2 (REOsmods.com)

Atleast 2 AW IMR 18650 batteries either 1600 or 2000 mah (you can get these at RTD vapor)

A charger - I'd recommend a Nitecore intellicharger i4 (you can get this at RTD vapor)

A couple of replacement springs for metal REOs (REOsmods.com)

A couple of short 1.7 ohm cartos (REOsmods.com)

A few feet of 30 ga and 28 ga Kanthal wire for your RM2 (REOsmods.com)

Head down to CVS and pick up a box of sterile rolled cotton in the bandage section for your RM2 wicks :)

That should cover it :)

Yeah, what he said. Good List and maybe some magnifying glasses. Good Luck

Hi Folks,

Soon as I take care of the Christmas bills and figure out what color, I'll be ordering a Grand. I'm coming from a different set up, so would appreciate some advice.
I'll certainly want to try the RM2, but I think also either cartomizers or atomizers. In order to get from what's orderable on the Reo page to something like this recent photo on your threadView attachment 292112

what would I need to get and what's the best place to get it?

Also, what else would you recommend for the first order?
PS Is the shiny one a mini, and what finish is it?
Thanks.

This Reo is one of 30 made nickle plated minis.

That's quite nice. I haven't ordered mine yet and thought about the raw tumbled, but thought it may be too raw. But, you did a great job. Only the door? If you don't mind can I see a pic of the door with the contrasting still raw side? Was going to go with the black wrinkle or silver vein, but you're giving me second thoughts.:)

It's the raw tumbled aluminum finish. I polished up the door with some fine grit sand paper, steel wool and polishing compound (toothpaste lol)

Here's the contrast. The door is kinda dirty

Very nice. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Go for it. I already had Black Wrinkle and Copper Vein Reos when I decided to get the Tumbled for my warrior to take on tough duty and get beat on. I was very surprised at how nice it looks and feels once I got it. Plus after it gets beat on or if you get bored with the look it's easy to polish up.

I gave my Black Wrinkle to my son and soon realized it was my favorite texture to hold so I have another on order, if you don't have Wrinkle yet you might want to add that to the mix.

This'll be my first REO. I'm undecided between the Tumbled, the Black Wrinkle, and the Silver Vein.
Whenever I get close to a decision, a new piece of data gets tossed in.

Terrific. I'm guessing the RM2 won't come with a prebuilt coil. I never built one, and know that I'm gonna want to start vaping the moment my stuff arrives.
So, with that in mind, between the cartos and the atomizers (Smokteck or Em-LR), any general agreement on which work better on the REO?
That was a very helpful video.
I'll wait for a new thread when I finally get the equipment.
Thanks again:toast:
I did my first ever coil on a RM2. Very easy. Since I have built several other attys. The RM2 is still the easiest of them all. Well worth your while.

Have a blue metallic, silver vein and raw tumbled. Prefer the latter by far - scuff marks on it looks "natural" as opposed to the others, not slippery at all, can be polished should you so wish, etc. Just more data for you! Silver vein darkens considerably from use. The blue metallic is beautiful, but marks show up badly.
