1. I sent the GG to Greece using express registed mail with insurance. Imeo didn't opt for registered mail when returning the items.

2. I bought it because I liked it and thought it would be the last e-cig I would ever have to buy (as stated in my first post on this thread).

3. Imeo offered to pay me $ .39 on the dollar for a brand new e-cig that I don't have. Call me stubborn, but I don't think that's a good offer.

4. Why not? It's the price I paid and I have nothing. It's called 'the cost of doing business'.

1. what i generally do when sending stuff back is ask people if they will **** it via registered post back to me, if not i pay extra or opt for insurance

2. if you buy something because you like it you have no right to say anything about the price of it, you could have bought a similar mod locally

3. You should be happy imeo is offering anything at all, if it was me, i would have just let it go, and blame the post office

4. the cost of doing business??? you better go and read suppliers policies, and fine if you're so determined on getting it all back, maybe you should contact smokejuice since you bought the product from them.

if i buy a battery and it fails, i send it back to the seller, not the manufacturer

What inflammatory and incorrect information are you referring to?
I was referring in general to the point Zof raised - he stated he wasn't aware of the facts, I stated that this is because inflammatory and incorrect information rises to the top. That's all I was referring to.
I paid for an upgrade I didn't get. In fact, I didn't get the device back at all - upgrade or not. Yet the money was spent in good faith to recieve that which I paid for - MY upgraded device. The accessories are of no use to me without the device.. I paid for shipping as well and still - no product.

It's your opinion that Imeo being as fair as possible. Mine differs.

So I would argue that you are out by precisely the cost of the original device. Sh*t happens, it's nobody's fault. I'd sell the accessories, take the refund offer and call it quits. But that's me and I see that you're not about to do that so I'll bow out now.....

Imeo made the grant and the end caps. Why can't he just make another one? I know this would be inconvenient for him but Suzi has been put out for sure. This problem can be solved. Just make a new one and send it to her. Crap happens.

I'd be totally agreeable to that, stormy. It was suggested in my first post. :)

May I also point out that in retail law, your contract was actually with the retailer you bought it from, not the manufacturer.

Lisa I think that's a fair statement concerning most businesses, but the e-cig mod business seems to be a bit different because no one can make the device right again but the manufacturer himself, since it is a cottage industry. Just like Trog's Screwdrivers.....They are sold at his website, also at Totally Wicked, and The Electric Cigarette Company. But, all units have to be mailed back to Trog himself if there is a problem because he is the only one that can fix the problem.

whats the point of this thread????

1. the post office lost the gg not imeo, next time everyone should use registered post i believe they said that he sent them out and then they were lost not lost on transit to him and in turn he mixed up the tracking numbers so they aren't even sure they will get it back and other people actually got gg's that didn't send them to him.
2. if the price was so high with the conversion rate then y did people buy it
3. the postal service lost the package, and still imeo was willing to refund some of the cost, i think it was sheer stubbornness not to take him up on it the price he was willing to give back wasn't close to what was paid
4. and you cant possibly ask him to refund you everything like shipping and what overhead price smokejuice charged, he's giving you back what HE made on it then he should go back to his "people" who sold it and get the money from them it is his product..

**** happens
just my opinion

Sigh... I'm not complaining about the price I paid. I paid it and I take total responsibility for it. I do want compensated for the amount I spent since it was 'lost' through no fault of my own.

The rest has been addressed.

I agree wholeheartedly !

Suzi did everything she possibly could to safeguard the return of the GG at the request of the manufacturer in order to make the GG safe and have the new button fitted.

She couldnt return it to the UK supplier, it had to be returned to the address Imeo supplied.

So all this talk of dealing with the supplier is pointless, he did not request the item returned to him, Imeo made the request.

Bristow, Ok.
Stormy did you receive your GG yet?

I got a transformer. My Grant is still with Imeo waiting for the new button. I sent mine to him but it got lost in the mail going to Greece. It took forever but it eventually got there. The transformer that I got to replace it was delayed coming back. Just to clarify I paid for the transformer.
