My heart is saddened...she was one of few like Baditude, Oliver, and the guy who had an avatar of a girl on a rocket that first welcomed me here.
That would be Rocketpunk, I believe. I am still in touch with him on Face Book, but he no longer posts on ECF.

Friends, take some time now, and reach out to old friends. And family. Chat with them again. Or call. Or get together in real life. Tell them how you feel, how they have helped you, and how blessed and honored you are to have them as friends in your life.

Really shocked and saddened to check in after a long absence and see this. Sincere condolences to the family and those close. Robin was a delight and an obvious asset to this forum. We used to joke around back in the day. Please get a colonoscopy if of age, have family history, or if you just suspect. I have had 53 polyps removed over 4 procedures. 36 the first go around. Started in my early fifties, and with just a few very minor symptoms. Good chance I would have preceded Robin without that intervention.

Getting colonoscopies is excellent advice to give. Robin had hers on time and it caught her problem in plenty of time too. Sadly, in her case, she had a rare mutation that has no remedy. Robin was an exception, however. So keeping up with colonoscopy schedules is very important. Especially for those with family history. Good luck Jason. With proper checkups there is no reason why you cannot live a full life.

Below are among three of Robin's last posts on ECF.

This has to be he hardest post I've ever had to write.

We never even got to the operation. A CT scan with contrast was done last night. My small intestines are covered with cancer. Nothing can be done. An x-ray is scheduled to see if there is actual blockage. If not, it's probably the ascites causing my intestines to constrict from the pressure.

I will look into trials as that is now my only hope. Honestly, I'm not sure how I want to proceed. I have some serious soul searching to do.

Pardon me if I disappear for a couple of days. You all have been so supportive and I am so sorry to have to bring you this devastating news.

My decision:

I'm going with Hospice. I may have 3-6 months. With hospice they will keep me comfortable and my quality of life will be the best it can be.

Because I am starting early, instead of waiting till it gets closer to the end, my QoL should get maximized.

I'm at peace with my decision as are my family. I have been suffering so much lately. I'm typing this from another hospital bed. Hospice is completely covered by my insurance and they can get me all the equipment I will need as I need it. Anything I need, be it meds, equipment or whatever, will be brought to my house.

They can provide stronger meds than doctors can. Longer lasting meds.

This decision was not made lightly. I spoke with surgeons, oncologists, doctors and the hospice person. It's time for me to live my life to the best for the time that I can. Not in and out of doctors offices, hospitals or chemo rooms.

All they do for the blockages is give me morphine to rest the intestines, nothing by mouth then onto a clear liquid diet then a full liquid diet. I can do that at home in more peaceful surroundings.

My daughter is here to help my husband. She has worked with mentally disabled and has helped with others that have faced similar challenges. As of now, I'm fully mobile if not a bit weak from not being able to eat much lately. As my husband says, I don't look sick, just a bit too skinny. I will have a drain for the ascites that builds up in my belly so that will help with my appetite.

I've been apprised of what the end will kind of be like. Sedated.

I'm at peace with my decision. :)
As I sit here and read all these accolades, I'm seriously astounded that I have touched so many lives. I feel the same about all my connections on ECF. You all have touched me with your freely given help when I needed it, your stories that have made me laugh and cry. The way you share your lives with all of us.

ECF is a special place filled with special people. I truly do love all of you and am so very thankful that my search for anything ecig related brought me to this site.

I will try to get online when things are quiet at home (when I get there ;))

There will be instructions to notify when the inevitable happens. Let's hope it is later rather than sooner. :)

This breaks my heart!! Robin really was one of the good ones. She helped me a ton when I first got here and was always kind and supportive. I am so worn out by just how many people are affected by cancer. I will be praying for her family. :(

Once again, if there are any of you who want to share your personal story of your time with Robin you can do so on the link below. We will send the thread to Robin's husband, Rick, once every one has had a chance to post. This thread is on the HHV subforum where Robin made her ECF home. Anyone is welcome who would like to reach out to Rick and Robin's family.

I was aware Robin dealt with colon cancer a while back, but as I don't come here often lately, I had no idea about this situation. And our internet was out for four days this week, so I didn't get the message until today.

Robin was a special person. The news of her passing brought tears to my eyes. If I could look like and be like anyone else I know, it would be Robin. Not only was she pretty on the outside, she was a gem on the inside. My condolences to her family, and may she rest in peace.

will never and CAN never forget you.

She once sent me a gigantic box of juice. we spoke in private messages, and I had mentioned that I couldn't afford to buy vaping supplies. this was before vape shops came to our area.. and I was lapsing on ordering juice, & smoking when i'd run out. she was genuinely concerned with making sure I stopped doing that & stopped smoking all together. she was so kind to talk to me in PM... even now, I don't talk to anyone in messages here on ecf.

one of the all time greatest ecf members i'll ever know, in my opinion. genuinely caring, light hearted, and a very warm & creative, youthful personality.

I literally can't forget her. i just got back on here after years away and I made sure to PM her asap and she replied right away.

very sad to hear she's passed, but my last conversation with her was very heartwarming.

Is there a way that we can forward this thread to Robin's family along with the tribute thread Bronze has going? I was just wondering because there are so many touching posts in this one as well, if it could be a small comfort to her family...I know ther are many of us here that didn't hang out in the HHV forum much, and maybe don't have as much to share, but still grew to love her and care about her as well. Just a thought...carry on all.
