Is the Alphastar a dead product? I bought one last August and if I remember correctly I felt it delivered good flavor and vapor production. At the time, for some reason, my throat didn't tolerate top coils so I abandoned their use. Lately I've used the T4 quite a bit with no ill effects, and I even tried a CE4 without any irritation. Despite being content with the Raven as a permanent device some of my juices don't wick very well in them so I am interested in exploring top coil devices again.
