okay so is the wick not supposed to touch the bottom of the tank are or the sides of the wick hole?
Mine wick and perform the best when they don't scrape the sides of the wickhole. They are snug, not tight. Air travels around the micro air pockets. Lifting the wick off the bottom works well for me as well as making sure the top of the wick is not higher than the center post. My wicks seem to last for forever and wick really nicely. Hope this helps and hope I'm not out of place responding.

Or you could sell it to me at 50% off :p
haha, Dream on. If I sell it, it will be at asking price so I can try another one. :) (PIF to the neighbor is about the same thing in the long run).

For whatever reason I'm getting a lot of shorts with mine. I've tried probably 5 different setups with different juices with the same effect. This happens on both my mech and Provari. I feel like it's not the wick or coil that's doing this. It also doesn't do this all the time. Probably about 20% of the time. I'll start getting a bit of a burnt taste and e1 errors. My current coil is 1.1 but I've tried everywhere from .8 to 1.8. Not sure if it might be the center post.

I've had times where mine will be fine, but then start to taste burnt or have a sudden drop or raise in resistance. The thing to remember is that the positive post is, in essence, a floating post. It is secured by the top thumb screws and bushings. If the mod you are threading it onto has a fixed positive, you may be pushing your center post upwards when threading it on. This can cause one of two things:

1: An upward shift in your positive post causing your coil to pull against the wick
2: a potential loosening of the thumb screws if the mod is being rattled and the post had even a tiny shift.

Whenever I thread it onto a mod, and after I refill it, I just double check all my connections.

On my SVD, I do not have any issues since it has a floating positive. On my mechanical, I have a brass screw that can be adjusted per RBA for solid contact... Occasionally, I adjust it up and forget to readjust it for my RM and the issues noted above will happen.

Keep in mind, this is in no way a design flaw of the RBA. The RBA is solid... Just operator level tweaks that sometimes need to be made.

oh, & I torched the entire wick. That's the way I learned to build them, plus if you use tape when you cut your SS cable (to keep it from coming apart), it burns off the adhesive.

Cool, was gonna ask if anyone has done the SS Cable wick. I assume it is the 2mm cable?

well i ruied the look of my richman.... but oh my goodness the vape!

Disclaimer: doing this will ruin your richman I made it work but it's nowhere near optimal and or correct.

So last week i drilled out my richman to 1/8th for a larger wick... well i wanted to try a SS cable, the only thing i could get that was 3/32... well i drilled out the richman to 3/32(alsong the way warping the top cap) and it didn't fit... i also killed the threads for the center post(but i was able to salvage that) so with all of this, i realized after the fact the hole was so big that it actually cuts way over into the o-ring for the glass...

So what did i do?

I straightened out the warp in the top cap sleeve so that the glass would fit again(scarring it badly) and i stuffed as much mesh into it as i could... to the point that i had to place the mesh before the glass so that when the glass was placed it actually pins it against the center post... coiled it up.... and well... the flavor and vapor are so thick it makes me cough.. pics to come later...

I repeat dont do this!

Say what?!

Removed the press-fit silica neg post and turned it into a second wick hole. The fill hole is now the 2nd wick's negative... Unfortunately, in my excitement to build it, I forgot about the lack of fill hole!

Thankfully my wicks were somewhat hollow and allowed me to shoot juice through the wick.

Each coil measured 1.6ohm. End result was a perfect firing 0.8.

Also added a second 1/16" air hole at the second wick location.

Vapes like a dream, but I think i'll be re-coiling it to be closer to 1.2-1.3ohm

the top where it is coiled is 4 strands of 2mm. 3 short and one with about a 2" tail to go into the tank. Wire is 30ga kanthal. If I were running single wick, i'd only need about 4-5 wraps, but because it's a dual setup, it took 11 wraps to get the res I needed (since the resist is cut in half by using 2 coils)
