Rebuilt mine with 1/16 7x7 wire rope, 30ga kanthal 1a and 2wraps of 325 mesh.. Awesome vape, but it took me more than few tries to get it right. Found that the mesh and the rope need more carbon build up on it than mesh wicks. Burned the e-liquid off the rope 5x and the mesh on the rope 6x and it finally didn't short out. I'm definitely a noob with gens. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

As promised pics of my screwup... The circumferential scratches could be buffed/polished out... But the stretched metal...

BTW that wick is between 120-140 cm long I think... I didn't measure it beforehand I just cut the longest piece I could and rolled it up... (Rolled as solid as i could get it little to no center hole)

lol i drilled it to 1/8th first... but wasnt happy with it i use almost like 90/10 VG diy... so i though lets run to lowes and buy 1ft of the smallest SS non-galvanized i could get and just drill the hole to match... yeah, someone wasnt thinking, jsut wanting.

Oh well, live and learn...

i should mention with a wick this big i never, ever, ever have wicking issues, and with a 1 ohm coil it also fires straight away, and is super thick vapor. Was it worth it to ruin the look of my device? no... Has it become my most used device despite the look because of the performance? yes...

I had to actually pully out the hammer and the needle nose pliers jsut to straighten the top deck enough to get the glass back in... it was much worse than this at first

I could never get my Richman RBA to work right with my Provari. So over the weekend I tried to set it up with my mech. It took me 4 days, 5 wicks, lots of kanthal, and countless times I wanted to throw it out the window but I finally got it vaping great. I kept getting hot spots near the thumbscrews and wicking issues and couldn't figure out why. I even ordered another RSST cause I figured I would never get the Richman set up. Woke up this morning and tried one last time. Not sure of the ohms cause my Provari won't read it but I'm happy with the vape. The Richman is a great looking RBA and now I can actually use it.

You had a hard time, and another poster a few pages back also had a hard time, yet you find the RSST easy and the other guy finds the regular AGA-T-+ easy. What is making this one difficult? I haven't set mine up yet, maybe I'll find time today. I almost gave it away, it's so heavy, but I love the looks of it and the fact it fits like a Hybrid on most of my mods. Today I went back and ordered Pyrex tanks for it, to devote to some Pluid. lol. (oh gosh, I hope they have spare 0-rings, or that they're easy to replace from anywhere).
I recommended this to a newbie over the AGA-T-+ because it looks roomier to build, and because the wider nuts will lessen the top coil short problem. I felt confident in doing so. But, now I'm second guessing myself.
What's the average ratio of success with these for beginners? 8 out of 10? 2 out of 10? Does anyone have a guesstimate?

I now have all 3 the AGA-T, RichMan, and RSST. They all vape really well.
I would rate they in terms of flavor as being #1- Rsst, #2- AGA-T, #3- RichMan.
In terms of ease to set-up #1- RSST, #2 AGA-T, #3- RichMan.
In terms of appearance #1- RSST, #2- RichMan, #3-Aga-T.
Known issues RSST- single O-ring top cap (loose fitting can slip off), loose fitting drip tip, plastic tank, no top tank cap seal (some leaks expected).
Known issues RichMan- small wick hole, (super tight top cap fit, super tight drip tip fit can be difficult to get apart) oversized thumb screws can pull the coil lead when setting up.
Known issues AGA-T - small thumb screws, not very attractive
Most of these issues can be MacGyvered away (except ugly). I hope this will help anyone trying to decide which is the one for you.

Wow, I think I love you. Thanks!!!
Oh, and I hope you don't mind if I quote you over at another place, in order to help the newbie there who is trying to decide. This is great info!
