most folks refer to nextel as the XC nextel which i believe, is XC for ceramic...haven't tried that yet myself.
I have some nextel also but haven't tried it in the RM2. I tried it in the RSST tank but the ecowool tasted better. I'll try it in the RM2 later. Thanks.
i figure if you like silica, XS is better because its woven and its a sleeve too.

TM, here is a better way to look at it:

You want your coil pointing up when vaping. You want your airhole in front of the coil :). Is that what you have?

I do now. When I take a drag the coil and air hole are pointing up. I'm not really noticing any difference but I'll leave it this way. I'm getting some juice popping under the cap that scares the crap out of me sometimes. Is this normal?

I hate silica but I love ecowool and maybe this Nextel stuff too but I haven't used it enough yet to know for sure.

It's not only normal, it's good. Chicks dig it :)

If its too warm of a vape, you can add a wrap or two on your next coil. :)

Its not too warm. It's perfect except for the muted flavor but that might get better in time. Thanks for your help. :)

Any time TM. Assisting you is easy - Youre excellent at describing the issues in detail and quick to implement corrective / trial solutions :)

Rock on :)

We haven't officially met yet. I'm Terry and I just met Trunker. Nice to meet you both. :) I've been MIA from the REO forum so I don't know 1/2 the Reonauts anymore.

can you show better pictures of this step? If it's already been asked and answered I apologize!
I want to share another factor that GREATLY affects performance on the RM2. Properly adjusted, you will have a smoother vape and be generating bigger clouds. It's fairly common knowledge, but I ignored it on the RM2 until now. It's the relationship of the airhole to the coil. It's because I have 2 RM2s and the where the airhole ends up in relation to the coil differs between them. If the airhole is slightly off, like on my 1st one, its no big deal. If its more off to the side, like over by the wick tails or beyond, its not gonna vape as good as it should. My second one was like this and vaped anemically compared to the first - until I adjusted it. Here's how to check / adjust it so it is optimal:

Step 1: Screw the atomizer on the REO without a drip tip. Look down thru the top. See the coil? ok, You need the coil to be pointing UP when In your normal firing / hitting position ( when you bring it up to your mouth). If its not, turn it so it is. If you cant align it without excessive force (or its too loose) use the oring that came with the RBA by unscrewing the base and placing it in the drip well to achieve this. If that oring is not thick enough, I use one from a grand bottle cap. I use an oring with all RBA's to prevent over tightening to get proper alignment.

Step 2: Now look at the cap. Is the airhole DIRECTLY in front of the coil or within a few degrees of it? If not, use another oring between the cap and the base to achieve this. I had to use 2 in this location.

The difference in the vape is well worth these steps :)

ok am I the only 1 who has been putting the oring UNDER the Reomizer as in between the reomizer and the reo? I feel sooooooo stupid right now!!!
Hi Horselady! Ok, when you are holding your REO, taking a hit, it is usually tilted to some degree (mines basically horizontal with the button pointing down when the DT is up to my mouth). The airhole should be pointing up then. More importantly, follow these steps to first ensure that your coil will be pointing up when tilted to hit first:

Step 1: Screw the atomizer on the REO. Now unscrew the cap. You need the coil to be pointing up when In your normal firing / hitting position.

Step 2: Screw the cap back on. Is the airhole DIRECTLY over the coil or within a few degrees of it? If not, use another oring between the cap and the base to achieve this. I had to use 2 in this location.

Thank you on the needle compliment :). I'm always looking for ways to improve and simplify. :)

Here's a pic of what I mean by "pointing up".
Also notice the Orings I added to the cap to achieve perfect alignment of airhole to coil.

no not the only one, because i think Rob said to use it that way... under the RM2 to be able to turn the atty from its axis so the hole is away from you when you tilt.... in case normal tightening doesn't do it.
SuperX is using ANOTHER o ring, i think...?... so you can further adjust the air hole where you want it....?

yeah under the atty I can't get the air hole pointed up and what is meant by having the coil pointed up?

hold the reo in normal (yours) firing position... is the hole pointing up? good. is the COIL pointing up... is it up there with the hole?
I think this is because the coil is in the best position that way = why; don't know but maybe not flooded, air flow too... i guess that's what Super X is driving at...
Mine is that way but
honestly i have not had as good success with the RM as I have with my other dripper RDA's in terms of flavor... yet....the micro helps though. I use the RM2 exclusively with my Reo.

I actually have a few o-rings. One (that came with RM2) under the atomizer, by the connection. One bigger, wider one, to cover the exposed brass, just for the looks. Since my air holes line up with the coil by themselves, I haven't used O-rings under the cap like Russ did.
