Excellent tutorial, Drifter!!
Have you any other tutorials? I hope to find your lesson with the dual coil rda. (nudge nudge :)

What would you want to accomplish with dual coils?

More vapor? You can do that by making a micro coil with lower gauge wire. If you need more vapor than that, you're not human :)

Cooler vapor? Same, lower gauge wire

Responsiveness? Loops of the coil touching tighter.

Besides that, the other features I can think of are negative, such as poorer air flow, 4x more resistance wire, and more difficult to get working well :)

There are a few dual coil RDA's out and about. It would be a blessing to know how to rig them up correctly-ish. :)

Thanks Uma :) Now I must suggest to you, the RM2 / REO combination. It is so simple, yet incredibly satisfying that I would be remiss if I don't mention it. :)

Just ordered a second RM2 for my Mini 2.1. Love the RM2 on my Grand -- the Mini deserves the same set-up.

What a day!! First I track my new RM2 and says to expect it Thursday, sooo..I have a full day to run to town and pick up what I think I need and get mustang inspected. That did not get done because Ford put too much tint in my windows and Louisiana won't pass it. Texas would! I considered moving back today :) Get home upset and mail lady brings me a Reo package :) and a care package from SuperX ( thanks Russ ). I really needed that today!! What I thought was gonna be simple, was not!! First, no phillips would fit. I hunted everywhere and thought,ah, my harley bag. NOT!! Hubby drove my harley to work. Grrr. Finally ran across eyeglass screwdriver. It worked!! Note to self, get one and hide it from hubby!! Hubby calls and he senses me being annoyed! I just told him about the inspection ( he has friends to get that job done, yay!! ) but asked him where a small phillips was ,he says "uh" . Enough said!!
Yes, RM2 rocks!! :) Will I get another for my other neglected Reo's? You bet!!!

zeus01, I think it's about the same size as a round toothpick. That should give you an good idea of the size.

My REOmergency kit that now lives in the glove box of my car :)

- mini multi tool
- drip tip
- cotton ball
- roll of 30 gauge Kanthal
- two round tooth picks

Also carry another pouch with spare batts and a bottle of juice.

Because you never know when you'll need it.

Hey Super_X_Drifter, it appears I found another of your extremely useful threads!

I don't know if anyone can help me but my coils are tasting almost like I have a short. Not quite metallic like when you have a short on a genesis with ss but a bit coarse and bitter. No matter if I make micro coils, or standard coils, ohms from 1.3 to 2.3, cotton or ekowool, whether I put the coils right in front of the airhole or a little above. I'm starting to think I blew out my taste buds from experimenting too much. I've tried a super thin strand of cotton and fatter ones to hold more juice. I've tried no cotton tails to long ones circling the ceramic bowl.

Still getting an almost metallic burnt taste. Been using 30 gauge kanthal.

Guess next I'll try a ton of wraps and see if a super cool vape will get her done.

For me the "off taste" goes away after 5 or 6 " break in" hits with a new wick and / or coil. If not, it's usually a sign that my wick is too thin.

I tossed out the spare tyre from my car, because if i break down i'm far too lazy to fix it. I have all my tools and coil stuff in that huge gap packed around with water bottles. I figure as i make coils, whiling away the bitter hours to a recovery truck, to make sure that i can vape. It's important to drink lots of water. I reckon i can last 4 days before i get towed off.

I might have forgotten English by then, so maybe it'll be a Spanish recovery truck. I was going to pack it with beer - but HRH overruled me.

I run dual coils but they are on the same wick. So instead of 2 Ohms at 4 wraps - i hit 1 Ohm on an RM2 with duals.

It's not more fiddly than all the other messing about we do - they wrap just the same as single wires but are a bit harder to poke about and get firing right.

They are my basic coil now on 3mm silica and they work like a charm. This current (no pun) one has been blasting away for a week and took all of 10 minutes to make. The air flow is the same and having them on one wick means i don't have to drill more holes or mess about with different wire gauges.

In fact, it was you that mentioned the feasibility of such a thing in the first place, and so you have my eternal gratitude!

Hubby was watching me make a coil and the man that he is (Jack of all trades) stepped in and said "can I do that?" and had it threaded wicked and ready to vape in a matter of minutes. He de man! Well, My Main Man!! He has to help me with everything, well except cleaning :) The man taught me how to ride a harley and did VERY well at it ( rode thru 21 states and put over 35000 miles on that bike) and never had to put harley in shop. He works on them :)

I'm having a little problem with my RM2. I set it up like SuperX said, very good tutorial BTW, and I'm not getting hardly any vapor. I'm using ecowool 3mm, 30 Kathal with 3 or 4 wraps. I got 1.5 ohms to start then it went up to 1.7 ohms. Still should be good enough. Fresh battery. I have the coil up and the air hole up but very little vapor. Any ideas why?

Hi TM:) ok, if your only getting 3/4 wraps and your up to 1.7 ohms, try using something smaller as mold to wrap around, like a 1/16 or 5/64 drill bit. With 30 gauge, you'll get about 10 wraps in before hitting 1.7 ohms. Give that a shot :) right now your mold is too big :)
