Outstanding Super X!

I'd critique a bit, but you got the first up! Man, fear not the piercing needles (just crop off the sharp end). Sliding the coil over a fat cotton roll is fun! BTW, are you using the o-ring between the Mod and the lower RBA2? I have mine between the two RBA pieces and it doesn't make sense. Switching now to test. Again, GREAT vid! I run at 1.5+Ohms. Interested in your lower resistance (w/ lower VV power) results.

Any reason or benefit from placing one lead through and the other wrapped around the post like that?

Sorry for not explaining, had to sleep.

As super x said, it was just to elevate one side and keep the tails as short as poss. Long tails are fine on a micro but I prefer to keep em short and throw an extra wrap on.

I'm currently using the RMv1, while it vapes OK the build quality is pretty much junk. I started using my Reo Grand again after being on the RSST genny for a while. I would really like to upgrade my rba for the Reo. A lot of people seem to like the RM2 but I"m not really sold on it yet since it still has the screw on top cap and is still made of brass, build quality seems like it still may be an issue. Can anyone enlighten me on experiences they've had with maybe a cyclone, era, modded phoenix v4 etc so that I can decide which will bring the beloved Reo back to life again? Thanks for the help in advance.

Quick newb question....does the reo with rm2 leak when in pocket and sitting....so flat or slightly upside down?

I pocket mine in the upright position to avoid any chance of leak thru airhole or drip tip if I squonked and didn't vape most of the squonk :)

I have also found that if I don't get a good seal in the catchcup with an oring it can sometimes let a little juice into the catchcup thru the holes in the 510. Then this juice may drip from the catchcup when you tip the mod to vape or pocket it. I squonk allot though and that may be why I saw this a time or two before I started to make sure my base is on nice and tight with an oring. :)

I have the RM2 and a Cyclone. I'd say they are close, the RM2 is a bit better on VTF but I am not extremely fussy. I use my Cyclone right along side my 3 RM2's.

The build quality for me is fine. It is definitely not the higher end quality like the cyclone but it is much easier to maintain. I actually prefer the screwed on top cap. With my Cyclone if the drip tip is snug the cap comes off sometimes. When I have it off the mod and want to take the top cap off I have to put it back on a mod since there is nothing to grip to pull the top and bottom a part.

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been mentioned, read through most of the thread. If you use a 14g needle, the peaches and cream yarn from Walmart fits perfectly, you only need about a 1/2 inch piece, wet one end and thread it through, takes very little time to rewick and takes the guesswork out of using a cotton ball.

do you boil it first??

Just a thank you to super_X_drifter. Built a successful mico coil with cotton on my RM2 using the picture essay at the start of this thread. First tried organic cotton balls - horrible industrial taste. Then baby bottom rolled cotton (no "sterile" in our little village), 8 wraps came out at 1.7 ohms. Perfect vape, no taste other than the juice. Thank you for donating your time and expertise so freely, much appreciated.

Thanks for the response and the insight new kid. I think I'm just going to eventually get them both. I'm going to start out with the RM2 after reading about how most people are liking it. My RM1's positive post sheered off this weekend and as of now I don't have a quality backup (or any backup) so I can't use my Reo until I get a new one. I've now realized the importance of having quality backups. Are there any other RBA's that you have used and would recommend?

It's a tough call, the RM2 is a better vape but the Cyclone is much better build quality (and more expensive). The RM2 is also easier to build.

What could I be doing wrong?....
I got this RBA 2.0 on Friday and have been building coils like crazy (No problem there), but I cant get any flavor.
I got an assortment of wire and string (28, 30, 32 Gauge and 2, 2.5, 3mm string) from Rob, built every imaginable ohm, but all I get is a very muted flavor compared to a Boge carto.
I also have followed this exactly, except for the cotton: REOmizer 2 / RM2 / RBA 2.0 Build To Get You Started - YouTube
Also tried several of the combinations here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/446263-micro-coils-ohms-description.html
I should also note; I have tried this with 3.7 AW IMRs and at 6 volt Tenergys on a Grand.

Lastly; I'm not blaming the device, all of you cant be wrong, I must be doing something wrong.

Thanx
