And now I can read through this thread for ideas on the best build for the RM2 on a VV. I have 2, one dedicated to Nicoticket's H1N1, the other has their Custard's Last Stand, though I can see myself trying the Creme Brûlée or Frenilla in it. Both REO's provide the best vaping experience of all devices I own, but I'm willing to improve on my best. Being blind to the voltage makes me timid, and I forget the coil specifics other than both are less than 12 wraps, one is 28g and the other 29, both with cotton.

What's the best for you guys?

@flavored I should have figured that you were already a REOnaut. :)

Here's a cool thread by Karen where many people submitted the results of their favorite builds.

Mine has changed some and I now prefer a 10 wrap 29 ga micro coil at 1.3 - 1.5 ohms on my mech.

I'm vaping a 1.6 ohm 29 ga micro coil ATM because that's what came off my the slightly larger mandrel of my flavored gizmo yesterday. It's a great vape. I like it :)

Just picked up the Deluxe Model at Michaels $7.06 out the door including tax with the 40% off coupon from their site.
This thing is so easy to use it is rediculous. I wrapped coils with 30ga, 28ga and twisted 28ga and each came out perfectly. Thanks to Flavored and Super X and all those who contributed to this post.

If you're looking to try something different on your VV might I suggest twisted 32g Nichrome. I tightly twist the wire using an electric drill, then I make a 'micro, mini, whatever' coil (sorry Supe!), 5/64 ID, 11 wraps, tension coiled. Comes in at right around 2Ω. Heats up instantly at around 4.8~5 volts and the flavor is out of this world. I've read elsewhere about the merits of twisted wire and must confess I am a convert. The flavor comes to life like never before. I made several attempts to replicate the flavor using standard single strand micros and realized I can never go back.

A couple of notes on this...
I find the slightly larger ID of the coil makes a more flavorful vape. Perhaps its allowing more juice to hit the center of the coil before it gets vaporized.

I have my air holes drilled to just over 1/16. Warm billowy, flavorful clouds.

I try to get my coil as close to the air hole as possible.

I switched to Nichrome several months ago on the suggestion of Pdib. I was perfectly happy with Kanthal up to then, but after trying Nichrome, the Kanthal wire tastes metallic to me. I'm sure you can do the same thing with Kanthal 32g, though the final resistance might be a little different.

Here is a photo tutorial of a very easy way to build the RM2. Many of the principals would apply to any bottomfed RBA. Props to Juice Junkies photo tutorial on the original REOmizer for simplifying the process and giving me the courage to try it for myself. For me the photos work so much better than videos, cause you can look at the same one as long as you have to to understand it. It is going to be a sequence of posts, since my coil building skills are much better than my picture posting ones :). I have also discovered a neat little trick that makes installing the rolled cotton wick even easier... (it was already easy).
Here goes:

Here are the tools i use:

So for those more knowledgeable, on both of my Reo Grand's and RM2's, the coil when tightened down, faces the button. With/without the o-ring under the RM2, its in this position that the RM2 makes contact with the center pin of the 510.

I'd perfer if the coil/airhole could be on the opposite side, meaning away from the buttons.

Can the gasket survive a half turn more to get the coil/airhole aligned the way I want? I dont want to over tighten it and break it and cause leaks....but at the same time the way I vape makes it uncomfortable to use.

Essentially what im asking is, can I tighten the RM2 down by 180° safely, after it makes first contact with the 510 pin?

If it's just making contact, I'd think that it could take 1/2 turn more.
