I too am using 2 orings. A thick on around the 510 connection in the catch cup and the thinner one that came with the RM2 between the base of the RM2 and the cap. I had to use 2 to get the coil and airhole to line up like Super_x suggested.

Sweet - Is it starting to kick booty yet?

as far as i can see good vapor is optimal from a functional standpoint... let us know if a different wicking material affects the taste. Muted is not optimal flavor, but better than burnt or harsh imo...
could it be the juice?
you could compare it to an iGo L i.e.
Vapor is great but the flavor is still muted. I'll try a different kind of wicking material when this one needs rebuilding. It's working too good to tear apart at the moment. :)

Yeah, I can tolerate the muted flavor for awhile as long as it isn't burnt or harsh.

I have the same material (2mm ecowool) in my Penny and the flavor is great. I have 1mm ecowool in the RM2 and there isn't much flavor. I don't think the 1mm holds enough juice, that's why I got the 3mm for the RM2. But I can't make a microwick with the 3mm without choking the wick. I have some Nextel and cotton braid to try next.

Edit: Same juice in both atties.

funny; i have a 1/16th nextel silica XS116 in my Penelope... tight wrapped micro at 1.5 ohms 28g wire.
I get harsh all the time; i think because its not wicking... either 1. the braided sleeve XS116 is not wicking or 2. i made it too tight; choking the flow under the coil....

SuperX ?what do you think... i used a needle to stabilize the coil when i wrapped... i can use a big luer for more channel in the wick.

Do you have the juice control open as far as you dare? If you used a needle inside the sleeve when you wrapped than it shouldn't be wrapped too tight unless you used a very thin needle.

Bro, sorry, I've never used a genny /Penelope. What I do know is that the 1/16 (or 1/32) number is referring to the inside diameter of the hollow part, not the outside. So, yes, perhaps choking if your trying to fit it thru a 1/16" coil :)

Well, got my first Reo and made my first coil for my RBA 2 tonight. I have to say I was dead set against using cotton. Now, after struggling with that $%%# silica, I'm gonna have to get used to changing out my cotton often... :p

Anyway - I made my coils big enough for the silica so they're not the micros I see here BUT -- I got 6 coils, 1.0 ohms on 30g wire with cotton wick. (I really did try a pic but...well...I'm a decent coil maker but NOT a decent photographer. lol) I will probably shoot for 1.5 or so, but honestly this seems fine at 1.0 ohms right now - so I'll wait for the coil to die before replacing it. No sense in waste, and all that :p

Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!♥

any reason why I am getting really wet vapor, then like a REALLY harsh burnt throat vapor? My coil is reading 1ohm on my Zmax ( just using it to check) 32g wire with cotton ball, 6 wraps.

Can you post a quick pic of the setup Sennie?
