Hey guys, I should be getting my maxi v2 this week and I'm super excited. I ordered 2 AW 18650 3100 mah's for it (to switch out between charges). I also ordered a couple of shorty 510 extenders. I've been using mega dc cartos on my ego and I love them, I really want to keep using them on the rs. From the first few pages of the thread, it seems that tanks are usable with the shorty extenders but I was wondering about mega cartos for egos. Anyone used this setup?

I used a shorty and a 510 eGo adapter. Two shorties would work as long as it doesn't stretch the center pin out too far which I found happening when trying to use 2 shorties together.

Just placed an order and got the last available plain Roughstack V2 :D

1x RoughStack V2
1x RoughStack V2 Long Body

2x Sealed 510 Shorty Extensions
1x 510 to eGo Adapter
1x Silver eGo Shorty Cone
1x eGo Chrome Cone for the 3.5 mL Dual Coil Tank Cartromizer

Also grabbed some Candy Cane to try after seeing some of the reviews.

Now to go hunting for 18650s and 16340s :)

The shorty by itself will not even stick out of the bottom of the atty. If you remove the nut around the switch you can use just the eGo adapter.
Just a heads up, I don't know if there were design changes but I wasn't able to get it to work on this carto with just an ego adapter. I still had to use the 510 shorty extension as well. No biggie, it still works just fine for me.

I had the same experience with the eGo adapter on mine. I am however able to get an XXL steel dual coil carto on without removing the nut! If I rotate the nut a bit until a flat side is facing the 510 connector it threads on fine! I guess I'll stick to XL and XXL (3.5ml) steel cartos. EMDCC's will be on the eGo clone for now.

Something of note for people who are looking at the rough stack... With these adapters/extensions, make sure you have a sealed connector or you seal it yourself, if needed. I've been using a 510 shorty extension at the base and an ego-510 extension on top of that and none of them were sealed connector. Suffice it to say that I was drawing in an excess of air and it was affecting the hit. I went ahead and sealed off the ego-510 extension and it's hitting much better. Something I never even thought about until I broke out the ego and was using it side-by-side with the RS this afternoon.

I just got my roughstack earlier this week. Love it so far.

One thing though. It does seem like it is running at a higher voltage than my eGo. I am using the roughstack with 2.0 ohm boges and the hit is now a bit heavy/hot for me; I am unable to take large hits without coughing or having my breathe taken away. I was thinking of running the boge 3.2 cartomizers instead; will this have a softer hit? Is this just something I am going to have to get used to? I loved the boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers with my ego, but there has been a very noticable change with the roughstack. It is a great product though.

What kind of battery are you using in the RS? Genuine Joye eGo batteries are regulated. Most 18650 batteries hit a little harder. The voltage may be a little higher than you are used to.

I got the ultrafires from madvapes; one 2400mah and one 3000mah. They were out of the truefires when I ordered.

I think that 3.2 ohms would cool it too much, trying to find some boge in 2.5 ohms or similar, but can't find any. Any recommendations to cool it down a bit? I wouldn't mind trying some other good brand cartomizers.

I use the 1.5-1.7 ohm dual coils and they don't give off as much heat as the 2.0 boge in my opinion. They do use up juice a little faster. I like the flavor and vapor and I'm not after a lot of throat hit.

Madvapes does have single coil Smoktech cartos Smok Tech 2.5 Ohm 510 Mega Cartomizer Single
They've got them in stainless and black. They also have Bauway, but I haven't seen many good reviews of those.

Thanks 440BB, I just ordered the 2.5 carts and some dual coils from madvapes. I noticed that after a day of vaping, the battery works well with the 2.0 ohms. So, I will be carrying both 2.5 ohm and 2.0 carts; the 2.5 for a fresh battery and the 2.0 for a semi-drained battery. Thanks again for the help.

BTW, is there anywhere you can get the 2.5 ohm carts in stainless? MV only had them in black.
