Sad Sad day (trog screwdriver)

after 18 months my Trog screwdriver has finally bit the dust, the old silver body with red button style.

fresh atty, nothing.

brand new batt, nothing.

the internals are blown.

i feel i have gotten more than my costs out of it though from not buying analogs.

It might just be the switch - you can replace them you know...

Mine is starting to show signs of wear after 6 months, but then again, I wish I had a dollar for every time I have dropped it, but it has been the most bulletproof of my PV's.

You can get replacement parts from Totally Wicked. Is it a MKI or MKII?

If you have an older style SD, then the switch could be the culprit. On the newer SDs, the electric switch has been replaced with an all mechanical switch. Outside of keeping that puppy clean etc... it is fail proof. OTOH, the top cap does have a solder connection between the atty connector,s positive post and the top spring. There have been many report that should the top cap become loose (using this mildly) the solder point or wire could come loose. That is the only problem that remains in this bullet proof device.
