I see a Nurse Practioner for my general physical health issues. She is a retired Lt. from U.S. Navy, an old-school hardcore battle axe trauma nurse that probably has seen more than enough spaghetti to last ten lifetimes. She never sugar coats anything yet will take time in being human about whatever is going on.
Her RNs that do the intake, get vittles and check up on the information accuracy, seem keen to try scaring me with what I know is fact.
"Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. That means a higher risk of heart attack, stroke. Your blood vessels will shrink up for four hours after every use of nicotine. You need to quit vaping too."
Yes, it is indeed a true fact. I'm quite aware of it. I suffered a mild stroke once already. it was unrelated to vaping, it had been several years before I was introduced to vaping. I still smoked cigarettes and rubbed snuff, chawed 'baccy'. I had been running hamburger patties into the broiler at a fast food joint, you know, have it your way. I'd been doing this for around six hours straight non-stop. We had an accident on I 81 that day and everyone took a lunch break to wait out the cleanup.
Apparently, I fell and hit the floor. I was standing shoving burgers unto the chain belt, next I recall was sitting in our closet/break room with a cup in my hand.
"Pepsi with extra salt and double extra sugar, Ben. Sit still, I'm calling rescue, or you can go home. Cindy (not real name) our manager has been notified, she's coming in to take over. Again, you sit still, drink, rest take twenty minutes to decide", the general manager for that shift told me. "Me and Joey (not real name) got you up and over here."
"Hey, Joey! Thank ya", I said
"

wasn't anything. Scared me, thought you went after tomatoes or something."
Didn't realize it was a stroke until a couple years later a doctor had me visiting for an acid burn on my leg. My blood pressure was well over 200+ and climbing. His nurse had sprinted off to get me a blood pressure pill. He looked at my chart, looked at my BP numbers, leaned in and whispered in my ear.
"Keep it up, you'll have another stroke."
So, yes I'm keen on them telling me nicotine might contribute. Meaning yes, I know that thanks, please let me watch it for myself. I keep trying to reduce my nicotine intake but I feel stuck at 18mg per ml. Got good gear now and I ought to be capable to reduce. I'm just stuck. *sigh*
