Just finally received two Serpents, one SS and the black one, and Wow!! I have got to agree with the majority that this is one awesome tank. :)

Very easy to build on, and as yet not a single leak, and the flavour is immense!!

This tank is going to be hard to beat, the only cons is the non removal glass tank, but I think that is only a very minor negative which I can live with. :)

The o ring fix has performed flawlessly. I no longer have to slow fill and fiddle with it. Just open it up squeeze the juice in as fast as I want close it open the JFC and vape. No leaking whatsoever. I got another serpent in the mail yesterday and didn't even try it first just went ahead and installed the o ring and away we go. Perfect solution that should have come that way from the start IMHO. I threw a SS build in this one just to check out TC I must say it works and tastes great in both TC mode and Wattage mode alike. My leaking has stopped since I rebuilt it. I used a ton of wick this time to shield off the air hole for the coil. I got a 24/28 clapton in this little beast. I originally thought 45 watts was about max but I have been able to get to 65 watts 70/30 vg before I get some burnt hits. This tank has immense vapor and flavor for a single coil

The Taifun o-ring, which I used, is 12mm OD and 10mm ID. It is a little tight, but it works. I have ordered o-rings 16mm OD and 14mm ID, which may work even better since they (hopefully) are the exact size of the deck.

@Major911 Glad it worked for you. It sure does for me.

My next project will be to MTL'ify it by adding a PTFE tube in the deck airhole to reduce it to 3mm.

Thank you. The 10 x 1 though is being stretched to make it thinner than the 1mm cross setion, which may be a good thing.

I was trying to remember back to my Taifun, which I thought was (ID) 11 x 1 or 12 x 1.

Perhaps someone can help me out - I put a 10wrap, 3mm, 24g Ti coil in and wicked it appropriately, but I'm getting nothing but cool, flavorless, dry (like there's zero moisture in the vape - not burning) hits. I've got the coil positioned as low as I can get it without shorting, wicking is working well, temperature response is as it should be based on the device monitor in escribe. I made sure there's no hot spots on my coil. Any ideas on how to get this tank to shine with Ti.

I have in the meantime put a fused Clapton coil in and it's amazing. Nice dense flavorful wet vapor. Easy as hell to build on and wick.

I received my Serpent today (unfortunately the ss instead of the black I ordered, but I can live with that). Good looking tank, easy to fill, but unfortunately I have a problem. It doesn't want to work properly in tc. At first I thought it was my new Reuleaux dna200, but it's acting up on my rx200 as well. Works great for a few minutes but tush then it hits temp protection almost instantly. I've built two different ss304 coils, have the right tcr, and the coils work fine in vw at 40w. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thats a good question roxy. Its from a bag of spares i had with an old taifun. I probably should have measured it cause I'm gonna need at least one more when my replacement serpent gets here from eciggity. I'll pull it out next time i rebuild and make a trip to ace hardware to find the numbers. I'll post when I get it. I don't have a caliper to measure it.

Check further back in the thread. Someone has already come up with a reducer for the airflow hole.

I haven't troubleshot it much, but I am also getting poor performance out of the SS316 coil and temp limiting on the mods I've tried, dna200, sx mini, and rx200. For me I think its wicking, not getting enough juice flow.

The weird thing is that ss304 works in all my other atties, and I get the same pulsing-temp protect behaviour with only the deck and fully saturated deck. And, as I said, the ss304 coil works perfectly in vw mode at 40w. I'm quite sure that my leads are tight. I'll have to tear down the Serpent tomorrow and see if I can find where the problem lies.

I think I solved it for me, tightened down the 510 screw. Vaping on the RX200 at 30W and 450F, it doesn't even hit temp protection now at that wattage.

Didn't do anything for me. The DNA 200 atomizer analyzer shows the atty as stable. I've tried both titanium and ss304 coils with the same result. A ss304 coil that his tc at 8-10w works well at the 35w, so clearly the temp is read wrong in some way. Something loose, but it's not the coil in the posts. Anyone here use escribe? I'm wondering how I could use it to troubleshoot the atty.
