Should ALL reviews be compared to the Provari?

I feel it would be more appropriate to do comparisons withe the Vamo rather than Provari. After all the Vamo is far more prolific than the Provari and the most loved/hated APV in the world. Also a heads up for all those "vape nuts" searching for the latest technological information. Vamo is about to enter a new APV designed to directly compete with the Provari. The finest grade pig iron will be forged and machined with a thin layer of gold plating over the entire unit. Rumored to be the thinnest gold plate ever attempted on this planet! All components will be manufactured in China. Assembly will then take place followed by a rigid quality control drop test. Each unit will be dropped 10 mm on a piece of 200 mm shag carpeting. After dis-assembly the units would be shipped to s secret location in the US for reassembly. After all they must be "Made in the USA" to compete with Provari. US dealers only will be the sole distribution network with the exception of fasttech. So watch for the preorder announcement for the new Provari killer the Vamovari V1.1

This thread has been amusing, but I do have a few questions for both the lovers and the haters....

For the lovers:
The Provari is reported and shown via O-Scope to have very good filtering, nice chip set. So a very flat DC voltage gives one the best flavor, then why wouldn't a simple $20 Smok plastic Bolt with a 18650 pure DC be the best flavor?

The Provari is reported to have a very exacting display of voltage set, keeping the voltage steady. So if a mod had a display that only showed settings for: Cold - Cool - Normal - Warm - Hot - Burn yer Juice, there would be no possible way to adjust your mod for the best taste? Do the numbers improve flavor?:facepalm:

For the Haters:
VW is the be all and end all of vaping, set and forget. So if you use the same exact juice at the same exact watts in a Kayfun, Sophia in iBTanked, a RBA, a RDA, Genny with mesh, RSST, CE4, CE2 in a Map tank, and a 510 atty they will all perform and taste the same?

A Provari can't do 500 watts at 25 amps. So unless you have insane power, the next stop is Marboro Country? Looking at the vaporization point of PG and VG excessive heat doesn't seem necessary, or the liters of juice I've vaped must still be in the bottles....:facepalm:

My :2c: if you can't properly draw a vape, know how much heat is necessary for vapor, adjust your wicking to provide enough juice to operate properly, no number of mods or high / low cost, VV - VW or Mech will improve your overall experience.

I think all reviews should be compared to the gatling gun. Kidding. I saw that thing in the store today and it's huge! I've never seen a Provari. How does the size of it compare to the gun? And yes, I realize that's not the actual name of it. I just can't even begin to remember what it's called lol. It looks cool. I'd totally rock one if it was smaller. What does this have to do with the Provari? Nothing. I just felt like mentioning it because I have it on the brain. :D

I can't speak for Ref, but I have a few brilliant American mods. I have nothing against American made things whatsoever.

I do have something against rabid zealots, for whom the answer to everything is "This thing what I like!"

Provaris have their place, and I considered buying one. Are they the best? It's a ridiculous question. Like what is the best form of motorised transport? A Ducati or a hovercraft?

Actually the Rolls Royce and or Bentley are the best motorised modes of transportation, although I wouldn't mind owning a Aston Martin DB6.

Great replies! I'm sorry but, the one who says NO in all categories just seemed to hate that a lot of people like Provari. IMHO.
I do not own a Provari but, will get one. I call BS as far as calling those who love a proven product Fanboys. That is obviously meant as an insult or, blow off, without considering the facts. BIG YES to compare devices in the same class. I'm sure there are many more reasons but, three huge reasons I hear folks saying is, 1. Customer Service, 2. Built like a tank, 3. Consistent vape.
I have not heard any praises about warranty and customer service with any other devices. Some may have their experiences but, That is not an overwhelming theme. Are you aware, can you believe, that a huge amount of people HATE let's say the Yankees (baseball and USA:blush:) because they of their accomplishments??? I'm talking 'mature' adults! I'll bet there are those who hate the fact Provari is made in the USA also. Just for that horrible reason.
There's a connection in there somewhere, however random!! :)

Well in all fairness, he did not say the Provari is not best in "all" categories. He listed specific categories for which the Provari is not best, and in those categories he is correct.

But just so you know, Super T Manufacturing makes excellent quality devices; they also stand behind their products completely and they are a US company. And if you go to their thread you will read their praises.

The thing is, a product can be a "proven" product but still not be the best for a particular vaper. I, myself, would not buy a Provari. It's nothing to do with the quality or any of the positive points about it. I believe the people who own one & make these statements about that product. But the reason I don't buy one is because I'm not spending that kind of money on a vv device when I don't care about vv. If I DID want a vv device that would be the one I"d get. We don't all want the same things though.

I personally believe APV's or mods should be compared by their category: tube mods, box mods, bottom feeders, etc. They should also be further compared by regulated (VV/VW) and un-regulated. Otherwise, you are comparing apples to oranges.

Criteria such as features, build quality, attention to detail, aesthetics and function design, performance via bench testing, subjective value vs cost, warranty length, and a manufacturer's customer service/repairability availability should then be compared among their group category.

PBusardo, IMHO, does the best and most in-depth reviews.

Troof. The oscilloscope doesn't lie. I actually stick around for the technical stuff, because that's the kind of geek I am. :p

The best device is whatever YOU enjoy that keeps you off cigarettes.

That is my opinion.

Ah, the voice of reason rears its head once again!

when going into variable wattage territory, you have to also start factoring in other VW devices such as the duke.

is the provari capable of providing a 50 watt vape?

you reach different types of consistency between VV and VW, and some people prefer 1 or the other.

See Ohm's Law and the definition of Wattage for why.

Yet another thread that has degenerated into the ProVari lovers and haters beating on each other. Go figure.

I do not think every review should be compared to a ProVari or any other device. As Baditude pointed out early in the thread, no one mod can be the best at everything. I have a ProVari and love it. I also have mech mods that I love. They provide two different types of vape for me and I enjoy them both for different reasons. Every review should be done on the merits of the device in question.

In my opinion, a ProVari is one of the top VV mods out there. I have never questioned my decision to buy one and I would never give it up. That doesn't mean someone else's love of a different VV mod is wrong or right.

I watch reviews to get a general feel for a product but I do so knowing that the person doing the review may be a totally different type of vaper than I am. It is like anything else we buy in life, some people love it and others hate it.

I have a provari and use it to test the coils I build as I think it's most accurate. I don't like the scrolling through menus. My pref is for the vamo. It may not be as high end or have the associated prestige but it suits me. It has almost become a rite of passage to get the best usa made ecig. Is it worth it only you can decide.

It's a brave soul indeed that says they prefer their Vamo to their Provari in a thread like this.

I salute you sir.

Presumably there's no point having cruise control in a car either, because you can just use the pedal?

I ordered my truck with no cruse it cut my road rage by 90% Im not sure if its just me but I get furious if someone in the left lane dose not pass me fast enough, and I have to break and rest my cruise!!!!! Now I dont have it and I just flow along happily with the traffic.
