Should the Current Health Care Reform bill be signed into law.

How do you feel about the current health reform bill?

  • I love it pass it right now!

  • I don't like it at all and hope it is voted down!

  • I am not happy with the bill but I hope it passes as it's at least a step in the right direction.

  • I am happy with some of the bill but I don't want it to pass because I feel it is unconstitutional.

BTW Scott - you know nothing about me, my job, my finances and what I spend my flex money on, so don't assume that you do.

I can only go by what you have already publicly said about yourself and your finances.

But..... if you do make over $250,000.... and you do put over $2,500 into your FSA.. and you do have a "Cadillac plan" (although you have already said you don't)... then yes, your paycheck may go down and your taxes may go up. "Back up" actually.

Otherwise..... no. Your personal financial situation will most likely improve.

But I am sure you can find other reasons to hate the bill.

I have read the bill. I WATCH as much of the congressional sessions as possible, do you? You learn a great deal more about our government when you actually WATCH it in action then just believe everything you hear on the news. It's amazing that some people still believe that Congress votes because they "care" and not because someone is lining their pockets.

It really sad when people call others crazy, stupid, or delusional when you can tell they actually don't watch, listen, etc. the actual government in action. It's much different than what CNN reports.

It's also really sad that you don't think the bailouts have anything to do with this. They stand as an example of how easily the government will throw money at a problem and demand to run the show because of it.

If anything, people really need to go back and read the Constitution. It breaks my heart that the majority of adults I come across don't remember what it states and WHY.

But, you have the right to believe the way you do thanks to the Constitution and I stand by that. But just remember, you obviously love to use your right to scream and cry about some issues, so why are you so eager to throw those same rights away to save a little bit of money?

If the reason our health care cost are higher than other nations is because we spend more on advanced technology then why are we ranked so low on the health outcomes than other nations. We spend twice as much on health care yet lag behind other wealthy nations in such measures as infant mortality and life expectancy (42nd). The US is last in quality of care among 19 other countries. We are the only wealthy (if we truly are a wealthy nation) industralized nation that does not enusre that all citizens have overage. Lack of care caused 100,000 deaths every year.

The government is already spending billions of dollars on government run health facilitly in each state (other than VA, medicare and Medicaid). In Louisiana we have Charity Hospitals that treat people based on their income, rural health clinics that are cost reimbursed through the government and other care provided for the lower income.

IMO the only option that will work to decrease cost and increase quality of care would be a single payor system or at least a public option. I don't think the current health care reform bill will decrease cost or increase quality.

Now, in a further campaign move, his is in Iowa City, stirring the pot some more. Explaining how grateful we all are.

The thing that disturbs me more than anything, is that this guy is also my President. As an independant, I guess now I don't have a President, he is President to the Democrats only, at least only to people who scream and applaud him as GOOD Democrats! He's NOT a uniter, but a divider. Someone should remind him, Hey, John, the Elections' over!!
Statement was made how the Republicans said this Bill would be Armageddon, and after he signed it he looked around, nothing came down from the sky....very funny, sir, I am not in the least amused, I am now MORE angry. Why does he have to keep doing that....laughing at & belittling the opposition is part of Administration Policy. Sucks. And is childish, Boorish, Arrogant, and extremely un-Presidential.

Yeah, an EF'ing big deal! This will break us, one way or another.

just to pile on the irony, here's a chart comparing the current bill that republicans hate with every fiber of their beings with the 1993 Dole-Chafee bill that republicans proposed as a counter to the Clinton health care reform:

Chart: Comparing Health Reform Bills: Democrats and Republicans 2009, Republicans 1993 - Kaiser Health News

hint: they're pretty much exactly the same thing. you might recognize some of the authors of that bill as the same legislators responsible for whipping up the irrational hysteria surrounding the current debate. it's like a big ice cream sundae except instead of ice cream it's made of hypocrisy and lies!

It seems to me that this bill is perfect for both parties too bad it stinks for the people. Both parties get to keep getting their pockets lined by big pharma and the insurance guys. The bonus is that the Democrats get to claim they did their best to bring us reform (forget that their was more sellout to this bill than reform). The Republicans get to claim they stood up and did their best to stop it, even though they could have writen it themselves.

This what the Republicrats always do, they play good cop bad cop or WWF if you prefer.

You know something, to keep pouting that all of this "Stuff" is ok, because somebody else did it too is pretty much stupid, forgive me. It's time for the crap to stop. It's not attractive in our country's portrait no matter who does it, and sorry, same stuff different day doesn't really excuse this anymore. Ugly is ugly, whether it's Ugly(R) or Ugly(D).
We the People seem to get it. It's not amusing, to compare apples to apples, and say "See, they did it too!" No kidding, what does that prove, that this is all just business as usual. No, it's not, time to stop STUPID. Tear the country apart, as Biden thought Iraq should do, what a good idea! Just change the boundary lines,
Put Republicans in the north, Independants in the south, and the Democrats can have everything in the middle from Coast to Coast. How's that work for everybody.
Or, if you feel more comfortable, rename the two policital parties, to "Those in agreement" and then "Everyone else". People can make all the fun of the other party all they want, no harm. Oh, really? Time for some respect. Some leadership. And, some Statemanship. And something fair for We the People, some Honor.

Well said, BradSmith!
