Except this doesn't take the battery's internal resistance into account.

If the mod itself offers no resistance then how could it possibly contribute to voltage loss? If the resistance is so low it can't be read by a dmm then how could that translate to a measurable voltage loss?

Read that link I included - you can measure .01 ohms accurately if you wanted. Personally, I compare my performance to graphs from dependable battery testers. If it's close, then the mod isn't an issue.

Ok, I have replaced the top magnet with a floating brass screw, No issues there. I also removed the magnet from the brass cup in the base. I drilled a hole and tapped it and put a brass screw in to raise the brass to the same height that the original magnet was when I started. I'm still getting arcing from the switch though. Is there a simple fix for that?

works very well:

As much as I enjoy electric lightshows, the button mod for the 19 is so simple and makes the device shine (even with the magnets)... What is holding ya back?

Studiovap nailed this ~two weeks ago.

Hey guys..
Ant idea how to get the button to thread to the post?

Mine was glued coz apparently the threads weren't compatible. So now it will not stay in place. I used some tape around the post threads but i get a major voltage drop...guessing its because of the tape.

Any tips?

My #19 was glued but the threads are fine bud

Did your 19's from exhale vapors have glue on the switch like others? Mine just shipped and am hoping to prepare for what is to come.
Sorry for the late reply. Out of the two #19"s that I received from Exhale one switch was easy to take apart and the other one in obviously glued because I cant get the switch apart at all. Great. I wouldn't recommend heating it up because you might melt the delrin. So I guess I'm stuck with a sucky switch on that one. Also, I received the Nzonic head and it would not screw on all the way flush. So I installed it on the side of the tube that the switch is on and it screwed on perfectly. So now the vent holes on that one sit on the bottom which is fine. It still looks nice.

Link to a fix for this was posted yesterday...give it a try, wouldn't hurt :)

I may have found another solution to the spring contacting the side of the switch assembly. I found a thin brass washer insert from and old faucet nozzle for a sink. I then had to sand it down to fit inside of the switch housing. I also had to.open the hole in the center up so it would slide over the brass bolt. I put the spring back in and screwed it together so far no misfires or hot button effect. I just did this a couple hours ago and will post again in a couple days if it is still working good. Here are some pics.

So I tried using the isopropyl rubbing alcohol method on my #19 that had the glued on button switch. I couldn't find 99% alcohol. The closest I could find was 91% alcohol, and after letting the switch soak in the alcohol for an hour, it worked! I used two pliers to twist it apart and it finally came apart. Once I got it apart, I was able to heat the magnet with a torch, put it under running cold water and the magnet popped right out. Hopes this helps anyone else that has the glued switch problem.

Just modded a sigelei #19 V2 that a friend gave me to play with. When I got the mod the top spring had already been taken out. I removed the magnet in the bottom and replaced it with three brass disks soldered together in a stack. The positive connection had a steel screw in it which I removed, and I filled the resulting hole with silver solder. I also replaced the bottom spring and made the throw shorter by adding an o-ring to the switch, it's nice and soft but doesn't fire if set upright on a table. And I blued the tube, this is 18650 mode.
