So I was finally about to pony up $25 for a SG1 Fusions kit. Then I remembered people on here cuting down their factory cap and well you can buy factory caps for $5. So I tried it granted I used a belt grinder I use for making knives vs a Dremel and cut off wheel. Now I just need to find a rebuild-able dripper that's closer in diameter then the IGO-L.

18350 mode with a shorty cartomizer make a nice stealthy vapor.

Edit: Just relized the IGO-L is shorter then the Shorty Corto

also I now relize why the SG1 kit has a set screw in it some times the atty unscrews from the "cap" making it hard to take back out thats why I fliped the tube around with the vent hole at the top.

Good job. Try drilling a couple of holes in the cap so you can put a pair of needle nose pliers in them to get the cap out of the tube if the atty comes loose and it stays in. Mine usually comes out. But I used a bottom cap from the #13/8 and it already has holes in it. I did have the atty come off and left the plate in the tube so I used a pair of pliers in the holes to unscrew it.

I think I asked this before, but are there any US vendors selling brushed stainless #19 with no magnet and no glue? I know vaportekusa is doing that with the brass one.....but I can't find a mention of the same for the stainless steel versions.

I haven't found the stainless version available, only the redesigned firing button from fatdaddyvapes for $14. He keeps em in regularly.

Wow, that's a lot of grinding - nice work!

An Oddy (or clone) or an Ithaka (or clone) are exactly the same diameter as the 8W or #19 (or most of the other Sigeleis or EH Pros for that matter). You can use them as a Dripper if you close the juice control fully, or open up the mouthpiece a turn or two & they will feed juice from the tank:

Easy fix: drill and tap a hole in your poor-mans SG-1 out near the edge and put a small set-screw in it. Spin it onto your atty, tighten the set-screw down 'till its snug and then spin the whole thing down on your mod. It comes out just as easily since the atty & threaded disk are held together by the friction of the set-screw...basically the same concept as the SG-1....Easy-Peasy.

BTW: Nice grinding job on the adapter, but I would recommend covering the bottom of it with either a thin plastic or Delrin washer (or even electrical tape). I've already shorted the top of a nipple-top battery because it shifted slightly and hit the bottom of the adapter.... it got HOT very fast, but I caught it before it got out of hand. Not real pleasant, and I fried the battery.

FYI, if you're getting replacement switches from Fat Daddy. I got 2, one unscrewed easily, the other one not so. Even though he told me they aren't glued - just look at the picture.

So, I drilled 2 holes and use needle nose pliers to unscrew it. It was tight, but unscrewed w/ the button tight in a vise (jaws protected w/ aluminium protective covers made from chimney flashing). I didn't soak it in anything.

I attempted to take apart my 8W button today. Put it in a padded vice and went at the teethed portion with a pair of vicegrips. Well lets say you NEED to at least soak it in some hot water because I broke it off. Didn't take pics but I drilled out the threads and just screwed on a flat brass screw and threw 2 small washers in there. I might take out the washers and replace them with o rings instead. But anyways, I'm surprised that the 8w hits so well out of box. Only problem is that I don't like how adjustable top screw is so loose...

Inspired by pastubbs, I made my own hybrid adapter from a POS sigelei #13 top cap. It's brass, so it was easier than trying to do this with SS.

I left a little lip and it looks like a nice accent ring. It will look bad ... with a 23 mm atty.

I'm still new to rebuildables myself so I'll tell you something you probably already know:
Have patience and don't give up. And feel free to ask questions. I find myself asking
questions that have been covered multiple times only because I didn't even know what terms
to use. Most of the folks here are very patient and will be glad to help out.

Just know ahead of time that you're going to waste a few hours and a some supplies before you get it down.
But it's very rewarding when you do!

Only problem I have now is that I have no experience in building genesis style attys
Guess I'm off to youtube for some tips

My father in law picked me up a 19e from 101vape for my birthday. It has a spring for the top contact and a magnet for the bottom. Lots of misfires. Looks like I have a little modding to do.

I've flipped through the thread a little and still have more reading to do. Here's a couple of questions.

The magnet is split in two. What do you guys think of grinding the access out and filling with silver solder.

As for the top, could I just remove the spring and put a brass machine screw in or should I just leave it.

Check my blog, wealth of info for building AGA-Ts.
Thanks for the info I dicided to skip the whole wire mesh thing I still don't see how it can be done without shorting it out. I just stuck to what I'm use to silica wick. It vapes pretty much like all my other dripper attys with the added bonus of not having to drip.

Yeah we've pretty much learned that you can remove the top spring and screw holding the spring in the top cap just leaving the brass center pin. As far as the switch goes if there no glue then simply removeing the firing pin with the magnet and replacing it with a brass thumb screw or equivalent works. As far as the misfires I just put a small bit of foil inside the switch with the spring. So basically a trip to the hardware store for a brass thumb screw for the switch and a trip to the kitchen for some foil.
