Same here. I was hesitant between the P3 and the Eye but that settles it for me. I am really clumsy and I drop my provaris and semo all the time and I wouldn't invest $300 in a mod I will be afraid to drop.

Nothing to indicate whether the P3 is going to be as tough as the 2.5 but I'm with you on that one.

Just waiting on the P3 to go online.

No, but it is a Provari! They are super tough, and very reliable. I'm glad they waited to get it right, as well. The rush to market has produced some stinkers in my mind.

Sorry to hear about that situation with the eye. That really does suck. Lack of customer support is unacceptable at those prices. They are not disposable apv's.

Glad I never took the plunge... As much as I try to baby my hardware, it inevitably gets abused, it's part off USING your stuff I suppose.

I'm sure the provari p3 is built like a tank, and ProVape has a proven record of taking care of their customers one way or the other. I just never "wanted" a provari, but I did like the quality feel of the p3 for the 5 minutes I messed with it.

The Provari P2.5 was probably the 35th APV I purchased, because I didn't want to be one of "Them."

However, I have a few now, and they take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Just a fact. Quality, durability, reliability, great support and customer service. I'll bet the P3 is as close to my Unicorn APV as is in the market today. I don't vape at 1000 watts, usually about 12 watts, so this may be what I've been looking for. They bling out nice too. Some of the things I didn't like, i.e., flat top, no VW, etc., have all been addressed. I know I will buy several for the wife and me, and I can wait for them to come online at Provape.

Lol this thread went from mainly talking bout the semo and now back to the provari. I'm with you Bill, and the "limitations" on the Provari fit my vaping style 99.999 % of the time.

You speaking of rushes to the market...I heard, and this seriously may be just a rumor, that evolv rushed the dna40 despite known issues in an attempt to gain the temperature control patent. In the week I had my flask I wasn't the least bit impressed with the temp control.

Yeppers! Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out what's going on. A whole lotta cheap stuff hitting the market, some disguised as wonderful new high end gear. Ticks me off! I've paid my dues. I tell ya, I get no respect! (Rodney Dangerfield). :toast:

I came in here looking for info primarily on the Semovar, and somewhat on the Eye, and an excuse to buy one or the other.

What I'm coming away with is a renewed interest in my ProVaris and their new products.

Go figure.

The provari just doesnt interest me at this time..... I am sure its great, but I do love my semovar and my dna devices (no dna40 yet). I doubt I could vape nickel wire since nichrome bothers me.....so if I can use temp control (which I still dont fully understand), why upgrade from 20w or 30w to 40w when like many of you I vape pretty much around 15w +/- on the juice and mood I'm in.

I emailed SvoeMesto asking if they plan to support and upgrade our beloved semovar beyond 15w with hopefully a user replaceable chip or a whole new model.... I guess we will see what they say............ they are absolutely showing their age in the current technical sense of APV's.

Kayfun 4.0 and Semovar SMv4!!! :D:vapor: Gimme suma dat!

I personally use my Semovar regularly..........even though it eats batteries like a fat kid eats cake, and I think it has the bestest button ever. :2c:

Hey Bill...you may find this interesting: The Eye has undergone a "face lift":

- Amperage has increased from 5 to 7 amperes.
- Minimum resistance decreased from 0.7 to 0.5 ohms.
- and it now comes with stock battery tubes for the three battery sizes.

SmokerStore is offering a free upgrade for owners of the old units if they pay the return postage of EUR 4.9.

I know you wanted to replace your battery tube, so just drop them a line at info@smokerstore.de...and while you're at it, please ask if the amperage increase means that the wattage will be increased as well..I'm a total ignoramus when it comes to these things really :)

cheers
