so i've probably mentioned before that for my full time work i cash at a small organic grocery store. our city has been blessed with a freakish -35C indefinite forecast, which has jarred all delusions of a perfect and mild winter season.
today was a particularly trying day for our store, and we had an emotionally challenging emergency as well as some petty thievery.
i asked my manager on duty (kind of like an acting store manager as a "regent" for the official store manager in the evening) if i could vape in the back room only because of the extreme cold, and i was given permission of sorts! i made it clear i would not use my pv if there was another person in the break room, if they would prefer i wouldn't. i gush about my pv quite often, and my coworkers are mostly of the curious younger sort. all employees in the store at the time were about early 20s, and they didn't find a problem with me using it indoors.
the mod did make it clear that it was only he that granted me conditional permission, and that his permission was not to be transferable to any other supervisor acting as evening mod. also made clear was that our store manager may not be happy if he heard about it, and that boasting might not be the wisest choice. of course i already understood all that, but could see why he would make it clear.
i'm pretty stoked i don't have to endure the bitter winter cold, but i kind of miss my short break outdoors.
just felt the need to share, i did not expect this type of luxury.

prior to this i've already vaped in the break room a couple of times when by myself. it may have been obnoxious or audacious, but i really didn't feel as if i was causing harm. i've also done a few short demonstrations for about 3 people who were curious as how the pv worked. but today i felt that if i didn't leave for a break it would have been noticed, and i couldn't predict if i could safely take a 10 min vaping session without being interrupted.
there was an incident where my department manager walked into the break room as i took a few puffs of a newly filled ce2. she opened the door to our walk in closet sized break room, and i waved the vapor away and kind of meekly unassembled my pv and tucked it into its case. she greeted me, told me my food smelled nice, then walked into the adjacent room.
i don't think i can hope for much more than this, but i'm glad i'm granted some leeway.
