On mine the green sony's fit fine. And the purple efest are a lil snug, have to push them in to get em to fit properly. A piece of sand paper on the end of a pencil took out to rough spots, now they fit fine :)
I will check mine when I get home, I have LG HE2 batteries and getting ready to order Samsung 25r.

Are they really solid copper? I thought my penny clone was, cause that's what my b&m told me. Had it for some months and have loved it. It's my only mech so I use it all day every day. Just started to notice that the copper PLATING is wearing off! I sure didn't expect that! It works so I'm not upset, just wish I would have known before I decided to buy it. Anyone else having the same issue? I posted here because I want the smpl clone too, but not if its not copper like they say, I would maybe splurge for the authentic. Any thoughts?

I think my copper clone is pure copper just because of how much the 510 threads have worn out. No other metal but copper would get that sloppy in only a few months of careful use. I'm glad it was $20. If I was buying authentic, it won't be copper.

I don't have anything to compare, but I chose copper for conductivity. I'm not sure now if I got those benefits as is plated. Is there a "real" benefit in copper vs ss or brass?

I don't think so, not as far as electrical conductivity goes. In this application, the differences are negligible/undetectable. The lack of any durability in a copper 510 thread would be enough to keep me away from any expensive copper mods, for sure. Some good arguments in this thread I posted a while back... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/mechmods/631763-metal-conductivity-glance.html#post14771687

I got my copper SMPL clone yesterday. I really love this mod. I hope the threads don't wear out, but if they do I'll just buy a silver one. Just love the simplicity and the way this thing vapes.

If you don't change the atty you should be fine, lol. ;) jk.

I've had my copper a-mod for a couple weeks, and the threading has held up thus far. I'm not swapping RDAs much on it though, I could see how it could be an issue if one had multiple attys with different sized 510s, and swapped them frequently.

Maybe in a couple months it will be an issue for me, but so far its been good; time will tell.

Right now I only have one atty on there, but am getting another one on the way so it'll end up getting swapped out a lot, especially since I'm only down to one mod now. The threads are very smooth right now, but I'm not going to worry about it. If I can get 2-3 months out of this $35 mod I'll be happy, and it should have no problems lasting that long. I really like the blue mod, but it looks like it's still copper underneath, so I'm going to just get the stainless version.

I think the colored ones I've seen (black/white a-mod SMPL) looked like they were brass underneath. Other clones may be copper, I haven't seen them IRL.

Is there any way to drill out the 510 connection and add a 510 insert if the threads to go bad? Of course, conductivity might drop a bit but I mainly bought the copper version for the looks and if the threads are junked it doesn't hurt to try.

Hello all, this also is my first mech mod and i just got it today. I must say it looks amazing out of the box. I do not have the recessed magnet version it is the spring. All the threads are like butter but, i do notice a couple pieces of very small fragments of metal on the inside threads. Since this is my first i would like to know how i should clean this. I also would like to know if i should put anything on the contact to help function?
Thank you so much in advance.

Clean that sucker out, you don't really want metal shavings in your mod, anywhere.

I've got the freakshow rda on my smpl clone. and although it looks clean, It seems to be the only RDA I can use on it... tried my plumeveil and The atlantis and nothing. Seems other people aren't having problems with this?

Edit: Also I purchased this on ebay, and am not sure of the clone maker.

I'd avoid using the Atlantis on hybrid top cap mod - that's asking for a short.

It's not the mod, it's the attys.
Several people have had issues trying an Atlantis on a SMPL.
As far as the Plumeveil, your positive 510 connection has to stick out a bit for it to work.
You can gently tap the positive post and it should slide down.
It's only held in place by the insulator.
Be sure not to crank the switch too much or it will cause the battery to compress the center pin of the atty.

The Atlantis on the SMPL is a BAD idea. I shorted a battery doing that. Mine worked for a week or so then I tightened it just a little too much. My battery didn't vent but it got HOT and FAST.

I've heard that a button top battery will fix that problem but I haven't tried it yet. I'm afraid the SMPL's fire button will not be recessed with the added battery length.

I got a black SMPL for a friend. I didn't check ahead of time and his tugboat's positive pin is recessed a little. No SMPL for him!

ON THE SMPL AND ANY OTHER HYBRID MOD, YOUR ATTY'S POSITIVE PIN MUST PROTRUDE FROM THE THREADED PART OF THE 510. There is no opinion to be had here, its a mechanical fact.

It's a shame because an atlantis on a smpl is dang awesome.

I've already been wondering about the Subtank Mini's positive pin for this reason. I'm not going to google it. I'm not going to google it. I'm not going to google it. If it would work then I'd have to get the ST mini and a SS SMPL for it to sit on. Maybe tax returns will allow something like that (IF the positive pin protrudes).
