So I have to go to Missouri for Christmas. By car. From Minnesota. With my asthmatic and easily offended sister. In her car.

It’s just going to suck.

I’m a DL vaper who chains, and that just isn’t going to go over well on this car ride. I need options. I’ve got numerous mods that would power a stealth mtl system which might (only might) not annoy her too much.
To make it more fun I’ve got only two remaining MTL attys. One is an RDA, and the other is a weird little squonk top I don’t totally trust not to leak, and is a bit too puffy for stealth vaping.

Things I’ve thought of doing:

White knuckling it- not an option. I will wind up pissing her off. I get testy without my nicotine

Snus- I know precisely zero about snus, but I had a whole bunch of jaw surgery some years ago and my cheek/gum attachments are not normal. There are wacky pockets in there and getting stuff stuck in them scares me

Some sort of really low vapor stealth atty- i diy, so I can mix high nic juice with pg and water to make a low visible vapor concoction, but I’ve got to find an atty for it that doesn’t cost too much because I’m gonna use it for only a couple days

Some sort of pod- simply buying a juul may not be the worst idea. They’re cheap and juice is available at gas stations. I don’t know if it’s unobtrusive enough though.

Making nicotine hand cream- this could work. I won’t like it much, and it wouldn’t work really well but it is an option

Any opinions? Thoughts? Better options?

I'm not sure what you are mean by "stealth" but I would never recommend vaping somewhere that it is not welcome. Is a separate car an option? If you must share the same car, you could leave early so that you can drive leisurely and take stops as needed to get a nic fix. Then you can go off where it won't bother anyone and vape whatever you want.

As for the Juul... A single puff of the Juul at 5% is about all I could handle these days... eventhough I chain vaped the Juul when I started vaping. They do sell 3% now. I wish they had 3% back when I was using the Juul.

Stealth juice is juice formulated to the produce no or very little visible vapor
Is a separate car an option?
No. I already tried it and was shot down

a sure fire way to piss her off. She doesn’t like to stop.

TBH I don't know how bad yr sister's asthma is but I'd just vape when you make stops if possible. If nothing else because I'm guessing that you'll get it in the neck if she's sensitive enough that even stealthing sets it off.

Nicotine patches were actually relatively helpful for me before vaping came along in terms of the addiction, it was mainly the hand to mouth psychological addiction I could never overcome!

I don't understand this from above:

No. I already tried it and was shot down.

Do you have a dependable car that you could drive, the finances to pay for your gas, and the physical capability of driving that distance? If those are a "yes"...how can that be "shot down", if you want to do it? If any of them are a "no", then I can understand it.

All of them are “yes”. The problem is Family dynamics. My sister has this grand dream of a road trip across the country. That it will be unpleasant for me doesn’t really enter into it. I even tried a move to attempt to avoid being able to go to Christmas at all to avoid the thing but it fell through.

You are a much more caring and accommodating person than I. I commend you for that.

If it were me she would either take the bus/train/plane or walk once the vape becomes too much for her. The only accommodation i'd have is allowing her to drive the entire trip while I sit in the back seat with the window down.

I'm also asthmatic. One thing worse than vaping is cigarettes. You could offer to buy cigarettes and smoke those instead.

Although I may be a hypocrite. The mother in law is flying down for Christmas and i'm also thinking of ways I can reduce the fog.

Oh, believe me, I understand the whole Family dynamics all too well myself. I also understand the whole "it's her car, her rules" as far as your vaping in it during the trip. But at the same time...if there IS an alternative (you driving your own car and vaping as much as you want/need to), then that's just being very selfish of HER...to insist that you ride with her. If she can't/won't compromise like others mentioned (you in back seat, window cracked open, etc. to vape on the trip), then I'd definitely just drive myself. She'll get over it eventually.

Gosh I wish that were true. The woman holds grudges for years. I still hear about crap from my childhood. We could take my car except it gets half the gas mileage and she can’t drive stick. I’m half tempted to teach her for the occasion, though that would likely be it’s own little hell. The very concept of a mtl device assumes some sort of compromise to begin with. Otherwise the only route is the hand cream.
