Look I don't want you guys to get me wrong.... I'm with you all... As they say in Texas Hold'em Poker..."I'm All In" Actually quite obsessed over these things, which scares me a bit.... Just like with weight loss... there is no magic bullet out there... although there is a new infomercial everyday telling us there is.... and this certainly seems to be a wonderful magic bullet for smokers... frankly that's what scares me.. I feel better, smell better, taste better.... I'm completely happy with this choice and not smoking... My family loves it too... I know I stunk like crap..

I'm 18 days without a smoke.... and I'm not going crazy.. like I did with the gum, the patch, wellbutrin, Chantix and hypnosis.... and that is huge... although at times I now wondering if I'm over doing the nicotine a little....LOL

which brings me to my next question......

Do you think most of us have really screwed ourselves here....Like a ...... addict who just found and endless supply of really cheap pure ......... and we are going crazy with it...??? I mean I now live with this e-cig in my mouth all the time....topping off the cartos that were supposed to last me all day....

Have I ...have we actually increased our nicotine addiction?

thoughts????

I personally have cut my nicotine down to 5mg/ml as of today from the 18mg/ml that I started with just 4 weeks ago. I'm not using my PV any more than I was when I started, so I have to say that I personally have decreased my nicotine addiction by a small amount. And once I'm able to go 0mg nic for at least a week running or possibly even 2 weeks running without having to resort back to nicotine, I think I'll stand a good chance of remaining nicotine free as well as tobacco free. Maybe one day in the future I will stop using my PV, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it if I don't, as long as I remain tobacco and hopefully in the future nicotine free.

And really and truly nicotine consumption is about as bad as caffeine consumption according to my doctor. AND there have been studies into using nicotine as a treatment for parkinson's and alzhiemer's amoung other diseases as I understand. Nicotine while addictive is NOT the danger in smoking cigarettes its breathing carbon monoxide and tar and the 4000 other chemical additives that create the danger. Those chemicals are NOT present in vaping. Check out the CASAA site they have some very interesting information on this subject.

I kinda agree with her. Until I lay it down completely I'm still "smoking"; just something different. As long as I'm addicted to nicotine, it will be easy to go back to analogs......

Haven't smoked analogs in a while have you? After just 1 week analog free I picked one up (hubby still smokes ryo) and OMG was it aweful!!! 2 drags and my head was spinning, put the nasty thing out and then rushed inside to brush my teeth, tongue, gums, entire mouth for 8 minutes to remove the taste!

My point: after smoking chocolate, coffee, candy, etc. flavors going back to analogs is not as easy as some would think.

If everyone would quit worrying about what everyone else is doing and worry about themselves and what is best for them we would all be better off!!! If vaping works for you and you feel better than when you smoked then vape away. Its your life and not someone else's. So live life to the fullest because your only here for a short time.

Yeah, I've been reading some of those medical reports myself lately. And actually considering possibly getting my nic intake down to 2mg/ml and just keeping it there for the time being. Keep an eye on the medical research being done with nicotine and then make a decision at a later date as to whether or not to totally eliminate nicotine. My main reason for getting my nic level down is due to the fact that earlier this year my B/P suddenly sky rocketed and landed me in the ER twice with in a week. So am trying to cut back or eliminate as many contributing factors as possible. Reduce caffiene intake, reduce nicotine intake and reduce my weight. Now that I've reduced my caffiene and nicotine intakes it's time to buckle down and reduce my weight by at least 60 pounds.

You have every right to be excited and obsessed with such a wonderful thing. You aren't alone. My advice? I'd avoid questioning the "what ifs" and...question the "what can i dos" - if your nic level is concerning you try tapering off..keep different levels of nic juice around. If the possibility of them not being around anymore is concerning you - write your state reps and Gov. Talk about it with anybody who asks what it is hanging out of your mouth. Be sure and spread the word to your doctor about how good your feeling after the switch.

The most important thing to remember is that by first getting your e-cig - You were making a move to be in control. if it worked as intended You're one step further away from letting your addiction kill you. (sorry not trying to be all anti - smoker i'm for freedom of choice) What you want to do with it from there is all simply that..what YOU want to do with it...not what it wants you to do. Nicotine isn't the only addictive substance in a cigarette from what others have told me. and those other things are not found in e-juice as far as i can tell.

Sorry if i came at you as total opposition - i'm simply sharing my point of view on the subject. Whether or not you agree or disagree is all you and I'm not gonna hate you for it by any means.

MoonRose, I'm glad to hear your going with less nic....that's awesome... I'm going the other way... my initial kit came with 12mg, my first order was 18mg... last night I placed an order for 70ml of various juices at 24mg... I'm looking for that harder throat hit, which makes a big mental difference to me for satisfaction...Obviously I'm getting all the nicotine I need...LOL

I feel like that animated female charachter on in that movie "Meet the Robinsons" who is wearing 37 caffiene patches completely wigging out, while saying she's fine....LOL

Hopefully soon I can start going the other way and dropping my nic mg orders down...and ween myself from the nic part of the addiction all together...

When you finally do wean yourself from the nicotine, you won't have any addiction at all. What you'll be left with, the vaping, is a habit. You won't go through physical withdrawal if you were without your habit. Psychologically, it would suck though!

I've been reading the site for a few weeks now, and decided to get involved to help stop any e-cig bans being proposed. So, this is my first post here.

I recently discovered e-cigarettes, and would like to claim that I quit analogs, with my first vape... but that isn't the case.

I did a lot research and chose a great mod to start with, but the e-juice I first ordered tastes like an oily dirty rag. I have smoked menthols and was hoping to find something like a menthol tobacco flavor to start with, and my first purchase just is not a good experience. However, it is not entirely bad, I am using the stuff, about half the time, and have cut my analog use in half immediately, which is phenomenal for me! I am sure that as soon as my new e-liquids come in, which will be a straight menthol, no tobacco flavor, and an Irish Creme flavor, I might finally switch to vaping entirely... In fact, I can't wait for the new e-juices to arrive. I also look forward to trying out all the other flavors... I doubt I will stop vaping because I enjoyed smoking, and I think I am going to like vaping even more... So, my goal is just to stop smoking first, then kick the nicotine addiction, and then to enjoy vaping all these very pleasant flavors. I don't see myself stopping that in this life-time any more than I would stop eating foods I enjoy.

I see e-cigarettes as a good way to stop smoking, and ultimately can't see how in a free country vaping could be banned for adults who enjoy it without nicotine which is the way I would like to enjoy it.

Nice meeting all the folks here, and hope everyone will look for ways to stop the FDA and other entities in the world that would seek to infringe on the personal liberties of those who chose to vape! ;)

+1...I said the same thing a while back on a different thread. Most didnt agree. We are just doing the "safer" way of smoking, if there is such a thing. We are all banking on the fact that its safer, but none of us know for sure, without research being done.

A lot of people said we dont light up and burn anything, so we are not smoking. But the same people fail to see the atty or the carto as the "fire" source and the liquid being turned to vapor is pretty much the same. People here WANT it to be different than smoking and they ban together and say it together so it must make it true. NOT.

As long as we use a PV to vaporize liquid and inhale it into our lungs, we ARE still smokers. Even going to 0 nic, if you are inhaling a substance that used a "fire" (atty/carto) source to burn (vaporize) something, and you inhale the "smoke" (vapor), YOU ARE SMOKING.
What ever you call it...................IT'S DARN GOOD.

some may call me a conspiracy theorist....LOL

But big tobacco and big goverment scares me.. If they aren't getting their cut from this through sales and huge taxes, they'll want to ban these things... The goverment is ok with us killing ourselves off before we can collect Social security, especially if we are paying a huge tax on the tobacco to off ourselves.... Big Pharmo wants a cut too...so they will lobby for it to be prescription only... highly regulated,,, raising the cost...which will make the insurance companies happy too

Just FYI wylie... In my search for a good menthol flavor I have found some that taste more like a Hall's than a cig. I have found peppermint and spearmint are good tho. Just FYI and IMO LOL

i was actually looking at the peppermint today even though i didn't smoke menthols......

But....i already had in my cart about $66 worth of e-juice and there was still shipping to handle. I also ordered a usb pass thru and drip tip lol. >,< i should probably update my sig as that has to have changed when i'll be breaking even.

Heather you definitely are a "Super Member!"

Appreciate your suggestions... I kind of was expecting exactly what you have said... so I have a weaker menthol, and something a little more tasty on order for now, and will be following the DIY route to satisfaction I am sure.

Thanks again for your opinions, because that is really helpful about this website... the opinions of people who actually use the products, and not necessarily the hype that goes along with a sales pitch!

Don't be scared of the government... let them know you're tired of their BS... i have personally written my state governer and state rep on issues far more controversial than e-cigarettes and they have a confidentiality clause. You are a U.S. Citizen. Those of us too afraid to voice our opinions to a government that is supposedly for "We the People" are only letting the rest of the people walk right on top of us.

Let your voice be heard...or there's really no reason to complain when things go against what you feel is right imo.

I'm not trying to call you out... I'm just saying there's no reason to fear our right to Freedom of Speech.

Honestly, I think that the whole concept of vaping could revolutionize the world of smokers - I mean, you get what you want ( nicotene ) in a much healthier way than with traditonal cigarettes. I just don't understand why anyone would even think of minimalizing the fact that when a person vapes, there is no hazardous second hand smoke, and ohhh, about 4,000 less dangerous chemicals floating around? Everyone has an addiction of some sort, but at least with vaping, we are minimizing the risks not just to ourselves, but to everyone around us!
