I know he felt that we were fighting a losing battle with future govenment regulations and BT/BP lobbyists. He saw the writing on the wall years before the rest of us did.
Clair Cameron Patterson fought an uphill battle against the oil industry's lead poisoning. Stanley Milgram fought an uphill battle against obedience to authority, but that's why we can win this.

He's waaay smarter since he started squonking. :D

As far as I'm concerned that is proof that squonking and use of nicotine by squonking makes you smarter. :D

I concur that squonking nicotine makes you smarter. But I also support the hypothesis that dripping it is what makes you wiser. ;)

*LOL heartily* "Indeed" it might. I just rather be lazy and not have to deal with a mess of dripping. Sure I know a person can do it without mess, I also know that I'm not that person but me. *chuckles*

I'm too lazy to refill my squonk bottle all the time. Just the very thought of having to clean the bottle already makes me feel knackered, and, by the time the soft silicone bottle is half empty, squeezing it the right way to not oversquonk is already gradually starting to become a royal pain. Also, I don't have the patience to wait until my wicks are saturated so I drip a few drops straight on top of my coils frequently even if I'm squonking, as dripping it also helps to prevent the bottle from going empty fast. Not being able to use my favorite mods is the final reason why I rarely squonk. But yeah... finding what works for you is paramount because common sense dictates e-cigarettes can't be less harmful to you if they don't work for you or if you somehow wrongfully believe that they don't, like, for example, if every other minute some lobbying propagandist intravenously feeds you bedtime stories on "why vaping can't be less unhealthy than traditional cigarettes".

I believe if nicotine was separated from being delivered through smoking there would be little to no dependence on nicotine. No more so than ones dependence on caffeine.
It has been shown in animal studies that nicotine addiction is strongly potentiated by some of the other substances (IIRC is primarily the MOAIs) present in tobacco.

That said, I'm quite strongly dependent on caffeine. We're now approaching 48 hours into a power outage due to an ice storm at our hunting cabin and you should seen the effort I went to to make coffee yesterday morning. Heating water was no problem, but then I realized: Oh crap, we only have whole-bean coffee and the grinder requires electricity.

Works for fizzy water machines too....just open the capsule and put some fraction into the liquid (I don't take a whole cap at once). I keep em around for if/when I run out of other caffeine sources (usually soda). Then there's tea, which I find to be vastly better to drink, but incredibly poor for caffeine content.

(I just did this recently myself. Didn't have to pound coffee beans with hammer/rocks though! What a bummer! Get'cha some instant for the cabin!!! :D )

I suspect there's something in coffee that makes it more addictive than just caffeine, much like tobacco is more than just nicotine. ;)

Well, being caffeine deprived usually makes one want to kill...

Just a bit of anecdotal evidence that smoking and coffee drinking go hand in hand. Strangely for a while after I put the smokes behind me my coffee dependence wasn't as strong. Don't get me wrong, I still have to have my morning coffee but for the first 3 or 4 years of being smoke free I didn't crave it as much as I did while smoking 1 1/2 packs a day. I am pretty much back to my normal amount now though and woe to anyone that gets in my way to the coffee pot first thing in the morning.

Just like we have to have backup for our backups to vape one really should have a backup source for coffee in case of emergencies. No power definitely is an emergency. Pre-ground beans, instant coffee or a generator comes to mind :lol::lol:

Generator, here, a must have (electric blanket power, too) here where the power goes out frequently - stays out a while. Twenty gallons of alcohol free gasoline.

Same here. It isn't unusual for us to lose power a time or two during the winter so hubby keep ours serviced and ready at a moments notice. I could do without power for a few hours but I have fish tanks and would be a basket case if something happened to my little water pets. The generator is big enough to run our whole house except for the central heat. We have backup gas heaters for those times.

I was a backup for my backups kinda girl long before vaping entered my life :D

LOL I could not wade through the whole thread.

But??? This one time?? At Debate camp?? I was vaping underage and I came up with the topic "ecigs are as harmful as cigarettes? And, like, I took the opposing opinion because there is so much misinformation from the FDA that I thought it would be easy?? And then I found this thing called ECF??? They answered my questions and gave me the argument I had to go against before hand and it was really, really cool and---"

There is a reason band camp girl never got to finish her stories.

I wasn't able to give up my coffee smokes until I bought a second tank for coffee juices. Turns out vaping citrus juice tastes pretty nasty while swilling coffee. Now I very seldom drink coffee; now all I want is something cold, wet, and caffeine laced.

I know what you mean. I have settled on a couple of different menthols and fortunately these flavors don't clash with my coffee. I had an orange that I enjoyed for a while and it made my coffee taste really bad. Instead of giving up my coffee I gave up on the orange e-liquid :D
