You go to Del Taco and after ordering, look at your receipt and start laughing....hahaha...thinking that the cashier didn't charge you enough only to realize that its because they automatically just assumed and gave you the senior discount.

Has Utah not implimented some ID scanning type situation? California has, and I think quite a few other ones are. Small terminal they slide the ID through and it verifies the age & legitimacy. Even Rite-Aid has me scanning my ID through their CC reader to verify it.

I believe there are a few other states that are 19 for smoking. New Jersey is one. Looks like DC, Alabama & Alaska are too. When I was buying Nat Sherman pipe tobacco online they refused to sell to anybody under 21 just as a blanket of security.

But I gotta say, when you go out to dinner with your parents and they ask how many children and adults, they say two adults and one child..getting a ten dollar deduction from their bill..kinda sucks when the clerk looks at you and nine times out of ten, you're older than they are..

No, Utah doesn't do anything..we're so far behind in technology it seems haha. We don't get near enough money to invest in such things. I WISH!

Ah, well, thats kind of a shame. I never thought I'd actually see them as a good idea, but they are meant to spot fake IDs/confirm real ones, so this would actually be a situation where it could've been useful. Half the time the local cashiers don't even bother swiping my ID any more as I'm waaaay too regular haha.

Though I must say Utah has some of the most beautiful country I've seen. Spent a week in Bryce & Zion and I'm still blown away. Having a vape with some Townes Van Zandt on while overlooking the land was insanely relaxing.
