Spaced coils

I treat my spaced coils the exact same way as my contact coils, although they usually glow evenly and don't need to be thrummed or anything. I think it's good practice to dry burn and anneal slightly any wire used, and that initial test fire can sometimes change the resistance (only a tiny bit, but it can) and I just want to make sure I am equally as safe when building a spaced or contact coil, so I use my ohm's reader no matter what, and I test fire the coil. That's kind of what it's for (although the fact that the ohm's reader is a stable, easy to manage build platform anyway doesn't hurt) so I see no reason to not take that extra step and test fire my coil.

Ikkies are everywhere, like it or not, and there's no reason to really NOT do so in my opinion. With SS go easy, sure, but that's the case with contact or not. Etc.

I was looking for a correct thread to post this. Yesterday my friend who I build coils for being that he doesn't know how to asked me to rebuild for him. The catch is that he was at the bridge fishing and I was at least 5 miles away. So I agreed and biked all the way there with my kit in my knapsack. I thought it wouldn't work out well because of the wind by the water, together with the small work room. But believe it or not I built one of the nicest builds I ever did in my opinion and boy I was happy. The last step was to pulse very lightly just until I saw a small orange glow in the center (like i learnt in this thread for spaced coils) and did just that. For the love of SS 316L I have to post the pic I took of it

Thank you. It's the colors that formed on the coils after heating them up a little that I love about it. I can honestly say I'm done with kanthal and nichrome (not because they don't color up but because of SS's clean taste).

Yeah for building I'm 100% ss and have been for a while. With fruit vapes I notice a significant difference in taste, not as much with creams/desserts.

I dry burn everything to sanitize it and burn anything off like oils or whatever. Not to mention checking for proper heating.
