Sky,
I had to push the brass pin plunger down on my top cap before I did anything at all.
My brass pin was stuck. Have you pushed it down with your finger so that it is flush with the aluminum threads?
Once you do that, the adaptor screws on without any probs.

Im out of ideas after this, lol.

Well, there really isn't anything in the button to "click", there is only a spring inside. If you press hard and make it "click", which in turn causes the button contact to extend further; it simply means you caused the spring coils to overlap each other.

Like I said earlier, if you think the button travel isn't enough the simple fix is to bend the spring like I clearly showed in the pic I posted.

Hi H8,

So what you mean by "bending" it is stretching it like GC? Thanks.

no, not the washer ...... to hide the gap between the body and endcap i found some pretty colored rings which i use to hide that gap. that is what i left on when screwing the endcap back on after switching out the battery.
what surprised me was that just a tiny missing part of a turn stopped the sp2 from firing.

Okay.....................I guess it is very touchy by the sounds of it. So will we have to keep stretching the spring?

sky, i believe you just have to pull the ends out a little to create more tension

look at his picture one more time, you see where the ends are pulled away ....

Hi tib. Yeah I can see that in the picture. I guess I was a little confused with the terminology. I wasn't sure how to "bend" it but I can try stretching it when I get back this morning. Or afternoon,

H8's AWESOME fix! Pics to help:

Remove everything, batteries and caps, sit the switch on top of the tube:

Get something (I used a broken pen) push the switch down until it comes apart:

Stretch the spring out, I had to pull it pretty far apart, it's really compacted:

Sit the spring on the underside of the switch:

Push the whatever the white thing is on to the spring/switch, make sure it's pushed on as far as you can:

Screw it all back together and yay! Button issue fixed :D

I forgot to make the pics smaller, sorry.

Uh oh, looks like I might have caused some confusion.

My original suggestion wasn't to stretch the springs length. I was trying to explain (not well enough I guess) that by bending the spring ends outward it will let the end coils overlap allowing the spring to compress further (a full milimeter to be exact).

Maybe this set of pics can clear up any confusion.....

Before....

After....

Stretching the springs length isn't really needed as it will only increase how much pressure you need to put on the button.

Whatever works though I guess. If stretching it's length makes it fire properly, then that's your fix.

I am glad to say I am happily vaping at 4.8v with thermo with dual coil cartomizers and 2.5 ohm IKV cartos. The 4.8v is definately my sweet spot, 6-7v is way too high for me so I'm happy I found a nice in between spot.

The battery itself was a little too short, so I simply stuck a couple rare earth magnets at the positive end of the battery to add length to it. Recommend to me by six in my thermo thread. This is really a great idea. Not sure if a magnet has any negative effects on a battery, but as for adding length to a battery or a tighter fit, what a great idea!!

Snug fitting 4.8v 600 mah protected battery in my thermo...mmmm what a little vaporizer I have! Good stuff, I'd recommend it for sure. I ordered some 2.5 ohm 801 fusion cartos from IKV also so I can use some without an adapter when I want since it is already a bit long.

Overall I'm very satisfied, and BY FAR the best $35 I ever spent on a vaping related purchase. A must have.

I've never seen a protected 4.8v 600mah bat, can you link to it?

Thanks for all of the input on this thread :) I just ordered one for my mom after much deliberation. I have tried everything that I could think of for her. She had a Buzz that she liked OK but was really just too big for her. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the one that works for her :) I am just a little leary of the button being on the bottom. Hopefully she will be able to quickly adjust to that.
