this thread is a great idea in every way.We need to know and know now.It may not matter to most but have one fall ill and then your ordering from "john" in China never really knowing.
As for me and my house we can supply the audits from our suppliers.
As for me and my house we have the audits from our suppliers. VaporBomb did and will not simply say "oh no its not in any of are e liquids". No, I contacted the ingredient and flavor suppliers that we use, I did not ask them if any of their products contained diacetyl, what I asked for was MSDS sheets and audits. That is why this took so long to get back to some people in emails. i will not but information out their that I am not 100% sure is correct. The one international supplier that we do use can not provide an audit but is FDA approved and has supplied and FDA # .
The problem is, do you really believe that they know?
And even if they do know, do you really believe they are telling the truth?
Rather than them just saying they don't have it in their juices, I would like to see their explanation.
And even then, I'm not entirely comfortable.
I agree with rolygate, and test results are what I want to see.
This issue isn't going away that easily.
The vendors need to get their house in order, and know what they are doing.
This could be the issue that ends the carefree good times of ignorance and bliss.
EDIT: I'm sorry to mess up your thread.
EDIT: But it has to be said somewhere in this thread.
EDIT: Hopefully that will be the last time someone says it, since it has been said once.
In case you missed Geoff's from Tasty Vapor's post in his vendor forum
here is his quote from his forum
Some of these flavor vendors and e-liquid vendors DO use flavors that do in fact contain diacetyl.
HOWEVER. NOT US!!!
NONE OF THE FLAVORS THAT TASTY VAPOR PURCHASES, CARRIES OR USES CONTAINS DIACETYL!!!!
We use three vendors for our flavorings. I have worked at great length with Linda from Perfumer's Apprentice in not only developing new flavors, fine tuning other flavors, but submitting samples from other vendors for chemical analysis. Some of the chemical analysis came back that some flavorings DID in fact contain diacetyl, that vendor (who will not be named) was contacted and the diacetyl was substituted for one of the many type of "pyrazine" additives which accomplish the same flavor without the risk of harm due to inhalation.
Tasty Vapor has not purchased any of these flavorings for company use until the diacetyl issue was resolved.
Of the three vendors that Tasty Vapor uses, NONE contain diacetyl. And this should put and end to this scare mongering immediately.
Please keep in mind, diacetyl is NOT a poison, it, like many other additives is just an additive. Ingested directly, it has no affect at all, however, when it is inhaled, it creates health risks, so yes, we understand completely the need to carry flavorings that do not contain diacetyl, as such, NOTHING WE SELL CONTAINS DIACETYL.
If there is any other possible way that I can spell this out if the point was still misunderstood, please let me know. I'm sorry if I come off a little tiffed, but we care, we care probably more than you will ever understand, just how passionate we are about what we do and how it has affected people's lives in so many positive ways. Jeopardizing this, is just not in our interest.
Can you expand on that?Johnson Creek
Hey, Texas, if you're having a list update it with the places others are adding so its all compiled in one post like some of the other 'List' threads I've seen, like the recipes one. I have no other opinions -- shhhhh, detractors!![]()
roger that. i am trying to update the list as fast as i can (i work fulltime so i have to catch up in the evenings)...so if anyone wants to copy and paste my list and update it even more, feel free to! i am sure i have neglected to add some companies.
and that is the biggest risk I see to this list. If companies are missed, many may not order from them incorrectly thinking they aren't diacetyl free suppliers.
Any info on myfreedomsmokes?
Johnson Creek website said:Q: Does Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice contain diacetyl, butyl valerate, or ethyl heptanoate?
A: No. Known irritants like these are not used in the making of our juice, nor are they in any ingredient we use.
