As for me and my house we have the audits from our suppliers. VaporBomb did and will not simply say "oh no its not in any of are e liquids". No, I contacted the ingredient and flavor suppliers that we use, I did not ask them if any of their products contained diacetyl, what I asked for was MSDS sheets and audits. That is why this took so long to get back to some people in emails. i will not but information out their that I am not 100% sure is correct. The one international supplier that we do use can not provide an audit but is FDA approved and has supplied and FDA # .

I really don't want to be a PITA, but diacetyl is fda approved for food-flavoring purposes, and your supplier has the list of diacetyl-containing juices on his website. You might consider listing which of your flavors use FlavourArt, and what FA flavor you're using in a blend, that way the consumer can crosscheck if s/he chooses to do so. (Diacetile - Flavourart. La sartoria degli aromi) Just so you know, there are many of us that want to avoid the stuff, NOT blackball vendors that use it.

I am going to preface this response from Geoff at Tasty Vapor with my earlier post...

The problem is, do you really believe that they know?
And even if they do know, do you really believe they are telling the truth?

Rather than them just saying they don't have it in their juices, I would like to see their explanation.
And even then, I'm not entirely comfortable.

I agree with rolygate, and test results are what I want to see.

This issue isn't going away that easily.
The vendors need to get their house in order, and know what they are doing.

This could be the issue that ends the carefree good times of ignorance and bliss.
:)

EDIT: I'm sorry to mess up your thread.
EDIT: But it has to be said somewhere in this thread.
EDIT: Hopefully that will be the last time someone says it, since it has been said once.

In case you missed Geoff's from Tasty Vapor's post in his vendor forum

here is his quote from his forum

Some of these flavor vendors and e-liquid vendors DO use flavors that do in fact contain diacetyl.

HOWEVER. NOT US!!!

NONE OF THE FLAVORS THAT TASTY VAPOR PURCHASES, CARRIES OR USES CONTAINS DIACETYL!!!!

We use three vendors for our flavorings. I have worked at great length with Linda from Perfumer's Apprentice in not only developing new flavors, fine tuning other flavors, but submitting samples from other vendors for chemical analysis. Some of the chemical analysis came back that some flavorings DID in fact contain diacetyl, that vendor (who will not be named) was contacted and the diacetyl was substituted for one of the many type of "pyrazine" additives which accomplish the same flavor without the risk of harm due to inhalation.

Tasty Vapor has not purchased any of these flavorings for company use until the diacetyl issue was resolved.

Of the three vendors that Tasty Vapor uses, NONE contain diacetyl. And this should put and end to this scare mongering immediately.

Please keep in mind, diacetyl is NOT a poison, it, like many other additives is just an additive. Ingested directly, it has no affect at all, however, when it is inhaled, it creates health risks, so yes, we understand completely the need to carry flavorings that do not contain diacetyl, as such, NOTHING WE SELL CONTAINS DIACETYL.

If there is any other possible way that I can spell this out if the point was still misunderstood, please let me know. I'm sorry if I come off a little tiffed, but we care, we care probably more than you will ever understand, just how passionate we are about what we do and how it has affected people's lives in so many positive ways. Jeopardizing this, is just not in our interest.

I have no problem with this thread as long as there is a disclaimer posted in the OP that says something like this:

Short of actually supplying independent lab certification(not a manufacturer supplied MSDS or a letter from the vendor's flavor supplier indicating diacetyl free flavor - an actual Certification of Analysis from an independent, recognized lab who tested directly and at random the eliquid(s) in question);
The suppliers on this list have only supplied verbal assurance of the complete absence of diacetyl(and related pulmonotoxic agents) and nothing else. If actual independent lab analysis is available, suppliers will provide the pertinent lab contact info for consumer verification.

If this disclaimer is not included - and I mean no disrespect to the OP as I applaud the OP's effort to have a common "clearinghouse" style list on the forum for diacetyl free eliquid - this list, as was formerly stated, is ostensibly meaningless.

As long as vapers see & understand the disclaimer; I have no problem with this list - Hopefully the disclaimer would encourage vendors to start seeking independent, random lab analysis of their eliquid.

roger that. i am trying to update the list as fast as i can (i work fulltime so i have to catch up in the evenings)...so if anyone wants to copy and paste my list and update it even more, feel free to! i am sure i have neglected to add some companies.

Hey, Texas, if you're having a list update it with the places others are adding so its all compiled in one post like some of the other 'List' threads I've seen, like the recipes one. I have no other opinions -- shhhhh, detractors!

and that is the biggest risk I see to this list. If companies are missed, many may not order from them incorrectly thinking they aren't diacetyl free suppliers.

true that...wouldnt it just be NICE if ALL eliquid suppliers simply put on their website "we are diacetyl-free"! that would solve it all.

and that is the biggest risk I see to this list. If companies are missed, many may not order from them incorrectly thinking they aren't diacetyl free suppliers.

I await with interest the first post by a supplier that can actually prove it with a lab test of their product that specifically looked for diacetyl (butenediol) and acetyl proprionyl (pentanediol). I appreciate that there is a cost implication since each different end product would in theory need testing - but two or three of the most likely candidates would help. If a product line includes Butter Popcorn or Yoghurt, then those are obvious candidates for testing.

As has already been stated, this issue may not be of importance to all, but some will want to choose the safest-possible products. In any case no e-liquid should be sold with known toxic contaminants, especially at the current stage of the global dispute over the legitimacy of e-cigarettes. It doesn't actually matter if in the end we find that small amounts of these contaminants are not a health issue - they certainly will be an issue if the FDA finds them first, and a much more serious one than the last time round because we know this is a real threat, unlike their previous spin.

A follow up on why someone previously listed Johnson Creek....

Johnson Creek website said:
Q: Does Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice contain diacetyl, butyl valerate, or ethyl heptanoate?
A: No. Known irritants like these are not used in the making of our juice, nor are they in any ingredient we use.

I received word from our international vendor, ( VB will never name another company in a negative light) they provided a list of flavorings to the public that list their flavors that contain Diacetyl, there was one flavor that we use that was on the list and it has been removed from our web-site. I employ all to read the statement issued by them in its entirety. there is a link in this thread to that statement, again we will not name names due to the fact that I personally feel that it is unethical.
