Now that I think about it, it's kind of silly for me to be so worried about stealth vaping. I mean, the ashtray smell I carried around with me screamed "I'm a smoker" for years, even if I wasn't actually smoking in front of anyone. That was also something I was really sensitive about. If I had to be somewhere where I was going to be around a lot of people I didn't know, I'd always try to take a shower and brush my teeth before I went. If I didn't have time to, I'd always try to stand a few feet away from people so they couldn't smell me. Well, unless I was at a bar/club or with my friends.

On my way to work one time, I drove by one of my coworkers who was walking to work. He still had several blocks to go and it was 4 in the morning, but I didn't pull over to offer him a lift because I was too embarrassed about the way my car smelled. I hated feeling like that.

My stealth vaping technique, take a slow drag to get a good amount of vapor. Hold it in my mouth until I'm done taking the drag. Inhale with a half breath. Hold it for a couple of seconds, then inhale deeply. Hold it for a few seconds and exhale blowing downward.

This is exactly what I do and it works practically anywhere. After you take that second full breath of non-vapor air, the amount of vapor on the exhale is minimal, especially if you exhale it slowly. Blowing your vapor through a straw into a cup with a lid works well too.

I'm not a big fan of pushing the envelope in no-smoking areas, but if the only thing that breaks the rules is looking like smoke, then I figure stealth vaping is perfectly okay.

Ah, one of the true joys of vaping! I was a closet smoker, so I was aways washing my hands and face, using mouthwash, changing clothes - anything to get the smoke smell off of me. Funny thing is, my wife rarely mentioned the smoke smell that I must have reeked of, but she just commented tonight that the garage smelled like cotton candy!

Just tried it out, and it definitely cuts down on the amount of vapor. Like I said, you can hold it in for 5-10 seconds and it goes away entirely, but I'm not sure how healthy that is. It's a nice emergency measure, though. haha

I keep having to remind myself I don't smell like smoke now. It's going to take a while to get used to. I smoked for 16 years. I didn't start to get self-conscious about it until the past few years, though.

Or mebe do an asthma inhaler mod- who's gonna make you put that down?

How about a cannula mod? Strap the mod/battery into a little back pack and whenever you inhale through your nose it activates the vapor -- people would think it was portable oxygen. OUCH, nose vapes. (I've done that - not as thrilling as one might think)

I'm not nice I guess, I VAPE EVERYWHERE, in the grocery store, in my dentists office, in my doctors office, In the library, EVERYWHERE. My wife gets mad. Hehe! Ice seen her doing it in the grocery store recently though. Now if I'm standing in a line, say at the library, I'll try to dissipate the VAPE........but otherwise I'm blowing big ol clouds of vapor.
I have gotten one of those fake coughs from vaping, I was thrilled. It was in the parking lot of the library at the beginning of the week, the woman was walking behind us in the library parking lot, we were all going I to the library, I talked loudly about it to my wife, and to be on the safe side I started vaping my head off, especially while I held the doors open for her inside of the library.
As I said my wife gets mad at me for being a "donkey".

lmao at that one. U go!

Love this thread! We ust received our new ego-T systems yesterday, and already, my husband has vaped in a room next to where our children were playing. Before, he would have made an excuse to walk the dog again (I wonder if the dog will still get walked by us) or take a ride in the car. We are really liking this! I am so thankful to all the people on this site.

I've only been vaping for about a week now and have already weaned myself off of analogs. A big part of the reason I quit is that I was very self-conscious about smoking in public. I was poking around the rest of the forum and saw a lot of people talking about stealth vaping. I'm assuming that means vaping in ways that aren't noticeable to other people. One of them was to hold in the vapor for about 10 seconds so it just dissipates. There was some debate about whether or not this could be harmful to your lungs. I tried it and it gave me one heck of a buzz though. :p Another was to blow into a napkin. This DOES NOT WORK if the napkin is crumpled up and you just blow into it. The vapor goes everywhere. I did find, however, that if I stretched it across my lips and blew THROUGH the napkin, there was no vapor.

Also, apparently it is possible to set off the smoke detector in an airplane bathroom if you get too close to the smoke detector, so you have to be careful. Anyone else tried out stealth vaping yet?

I vape in the open everywhere. We have to get the public use to it. If you try to be stealth you are giving the impression that what you are doing is wrong. It's not a health risk to others. It doesn't leave an unpleasant smell. It doesn't leave a cloud that hangs around. So why be stealth?

I'm with you on this Twisty. Expose PV's to the masses. I do it everywhere that I can get away with it. In the movies though I'll blow it into my sweater. I get such great and curious responses everywhere else. In over 4 months not one negative comment.

I have stealth vaped in may places, lines at Walmart, the movies, in restaurants, in JC Penny lol I just hold it so you can just see the tip of it and it looks like a pen, then I usually just turn my head and exhale it into my shoulder , jacket or sweater etc... if you exhale slowly no one will see it, and it's true, the longer you hold it in or let it out slowly it disappears....
Good luck !! hehe

I would like someone (i'm too lazy but i'll buy it!) to mod a baseball cap that says NOT SMOKING on front and back, don that puppy and vape all over the place! Or mebe do an asthma inhaler mod- who's gonna make you put that down?

Just conceal it and vape it. There are several "stealth" mods on Modder's Forum

Only place I avoid vaping is in the presence of my kids. Have a 5yo, 3yo, and 1yo and really don't want to give them any ideas!

Out and about though, I don't vape in the checkout, but I may when I'm in the canned foods aisle. Wal-Mart too, just try not to look so obvious, flaunting it, but not really hiding it. I usually hold my KR808 like a pen, not like an analog anyway, and with a drip tip on top of the carto it really looks like an actual pen (that would be a nice mod IMHO!) a 'penstyle' that actually writes!
