Yesterday I made a batch of tobaccoexpress 555 I picked up from the ecigexpress shop/lounge in Bellingham WA. I went with 2% to see how it would turn out. I lost count of how many cycles (8 minutes) of the ultrasonic cleaner I ran throughout the day but this morning I've got a great vape. Is it like the 555 I normally get from CigEasy? Not at all. There's a "nuttiness/popcorn" element in CigEasy's 555 that I haven't found anywhere else. But ... the tobaccoexpress 555 is Great! It's one of the most tobacco-ey e-liquids I've tried over the last 3 years. I'll still keep looking for the elusive CigEasy 555 but in the meantime I'm clouding up tankload after tankload of tobaccoexpress's 555.

While I was in the shop I picked up a mini Vivi Nova for my orphan 650 mAh eGo Twist. Neat combo. It isn't going to knock my Go-Go Fury with the Fury tank out of my pocket. But it will reside next to my Go-Go.

@bobalex Hi, got an idea, what if we put all the bottles in 1 plastic bag put it in the UC tank with hot water then close it tightly (the plastic bag will be under the UC lid and it is clasped by the lid as it is very very thin, the lid should close and tight enough, and there will be no water inside the plastic bag since the plastic opening is outside the UC lid. I'm trying it right now and will update later

Hi vikky,

I used to use 100ml plastic bottles but switched to glass after I read this:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/348635-steeping-times-ultrasonic-cleaner-part-iii-19.html#post9074232

... I read that ultrasonic manufacturers advise against using plastic, and other soft materials, because they do not resonate as well and will actually deaden the ultrasonic energy in the bath.

I believe the bag, even more so than plastic bottles, might neutralize the effects of the cleaner. If your bottle caps are screwed on tight, and you rubber band 'em together so they don't tip over, you're not going to get any of the water from the cleaner in the bottles and "contaminate" the e-liquid.

Vape On.

... For the ECX 555 try a drop or 2 of acetyl pyrazine per 5ml to get that nutty element you're looking for.
The ECX 555 is one of my faves.

Hey Mdemon - I'm a limited DIY guy. What the heck is acetyl pyrazine and where do I get some? The ECX 555 is a dynamite tobacco flavor so if I could get just a touch of the nuttiness/popcornish element ... not as much as the "retail" 555 ... I'd be really happy.

I received 20 mls of 555 for Christmas and vaped it exclusively until it was gone. I'm looking for 555 recipes and as soon as I find one that does the trick ... I'll be make four 70ml bottles at a time.

Try

6% 555 (I make it with Hagdan T5)
1% Acetyl Pyrazine (AP)
1% Sweetner

Very nice tobacco flavor with a slight nuttyness. It's infact exactly like Halo's prime 15.

I'm in the process of reading throught this entire thread and ready to make the plunge and will be purchasing the 30 minute ultrasonic I saw earler in the thread. Thats if my begging the wife is successful:toast:

Thanks so much for the recipe. I'm still a DIY beginner. What sweetener do you use for that 1%? I've only used nic - PG - and 4 flavorings so far.

The arguments I used to persuade my wife that we really needed an ultrasonic cleaner were:

It's instrumental in making Liposomal Vitamin C.
It'll help keep our DVDs and CDs skip free.
It's the best way to clean my glasses, her contacts and jewelry.

And on the e-cig side:

My cartomizers, tanks, and clearomizers last longer and ... store bought e-liquid is about 50 cents a ml but my DIY juice is about 5 cents a ml.

So my inherent cheapness won the day.

I use the TFA - Sweetner which you can get here

TFA - Sweetener - MyFreedomSmokes.com

They are also having a fantastic sale on Unflavored NIC juice. It's 20% off just used coupon code NIC20 at checkout. There NIC juice is very good.

I wanted that one Danny but I couldnt clear it with the woman =(

I haven't told her yet so I'll be in big trouble when I do. But I think the 10 minutes of having to listen to her screaming will be worth it.

Wait until it arrives and clean all her jewelry. That might help some. I'm easily distracted by shiny.

It's OK I actually had a gift card from amazon that my daughter gave me for the holiday's that I never used so she has nothing to complain about (Not that she won't complain). And besides she has her own 3min US that she never uses. I can't wait to get it I have an DRY4 mix I prepaired last night that take's over a month to steep and that will be my first test. The nice thing about this mix is after 2 weeks it turns a golden amber after 4 weeks it turns a rich dark amber. So this will help me hone the US steep times.

@ bobalex Thank you for the tips. I've been using glass bottles as well, but put those inside the plastic bag in the tank, I'm trying the result pretty good after 4 hours GUCEing, if I don't use plastic bag the liquid will be contaminated by the water, my UC is very small even the 10ml glass bottle cannot fit with the lid, unless I open the lid, is it ok to use UC without the lid?
