A little disappointed in myself. I am enjoying the vaping thing, got some good samples from freedomsmokeusa and have been vaping in my office...but still smoking analogs! (not as many during the day, but still...) Yesterday, I was sleepy at the computer and started vaping to pick/wake myself up..the vaping didn't affect me until I went out for an analog. I am using 24mg stuff too.
I really need to test myself and test this whoile thing out by leaving the analogs at work or home and vaping through the day even for "critical" smokes to see if I can really do this..
I continue to hope. Anybody else like me? I should be grateful for all of this as it is the only hope I have of quitting...but...I don't know why I haven't embrced this fully even after my 150 + dollar investment?? Psychologists in?

It takes some people longer than others... and a few *never* totally give up analogs. Don't sweat it; it'll happen by itself. A friend got an eGo just to "cut down", with no intention of quitting. 6 weeks later she said, "yeah, well, I haven't had a Marlboro in 3 days. I just like vaping more... it's more pleasureable". I think if you pressure yourself, it just makes it that much harder.

Every vape is an analog you miss, and every analog you miss makes you feel a little better. The penduluum has started swinging for you; just give it time.

Dont get down on yourself it takes time. What PV are you using? also you might need to get you a bottle of 36mg for those times you really want a smoke. Thats what finally did the trick for me. If your PV can handle it you might also want to try out a LR atomizer for a little extra kick. Took me over a month to find the right combination that worked.

I didn't quit analogs until a couple of days in to this adventure. The idea of not having my smokes with my morning coffee (yes plural, b/c I always smoked 2!) and my smoke before bed on the deck...still makes me shakey to think about it lol - so I did it one day at a time.

I ditched the morning smoke first. And after a couple of days I ditched the bedtime smoke. It's been 5 weeks. I still find myself going out onto the deck with my PV before bed. I'm sure if my neighbors look out they wonder what the hell the blue or purple glow is!

And I admit, my morning vape and bedtime vape is a tobacco one (Wyatt Erp from Freedomsmokeusa.com ) because I still want the taste even if I don't get the same "kick" I got from ash.

I personally am addicted to the nicotine AND the rountine - changing things up helps.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It took me about two weeks to finally kick the analogs to the curb, and even now I still want one on occasion. Everyone is different, so let yourself do what you need to do. I agree with hiram....every analog you miss is just putting you another step closer.

For me, the analogs went away when they tasted so horrible that I couldn't finish one. Now, whenever I want one, I just remind myself of how nasty they are going to taste, and suck on my eGo like a pacifier. :vapor:

Good luck, and stay positive! :D

I was smoking a few cigarettes at first too, Casper. I know me though, and knew that as long as a pack of cigarettes is available, I'd still smoke them. I finally had to make a conscious decision to smoke that last cigarette and not buy more. It was hard at first, when I first wake up I'd get my coffee and reach for the door to go outside and smoke. I'd roll down the window in the car and reach for a lighter. Those behaviors have stopped now and I have no desire to smoke anymore. It took about a month before those habits started to fade.

I read the accounts of the people here that accidently quit smoking, or that woke up one day and realized they hadn't smoked in a week. Not me. I had to make that decision and not have cigarettes anywhere around me in order to not smoke again.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It's no big deal that you haven't been able to completely walk away from the analogs.

I'm still smoking analogs along with vaping for now. I currently only have one battery that takes 4 hours to fully charge, I'm waiting for replacements to be sent. Hopefully they'll be here this week. Anyway, for me, today is day 7 of vaping and for the first time in 21 years, I didn't reach for an analog the moment I got out of bed! I was actually rather amazed since I've always enjoyed that analog as the first thing I'd do in the morning.

This may or may not work for you but when you need an analog, try vaping and drinking some water! I've been able to hold off on having an analog by doing that. The higher mg juice might also help you. Good luck and remember, it may take you awhile to put down the analogs for good, but don't give up!

OK, so you've discovered that you didn't buy magic beans. As others have said, no biggie.

I notice you have some different flavors, but just see on nic level.

Why haven't you tried some 36mg?

Not that you'd want to use it all the time, but maybe it's something you'd want after lunch or other times you need a larger nic intake. Maybe you do need it all the time. Unless you try, you'll never know.

I know I had to go to 36mg before I could fully switch.

Yea, jump up to 36mg. You still have to sort of "quit" analogs. For the serious, "professional" heavy smoker, it's not so easy to make the switch. I remember it took me about a week of withdrawal symptoms and intentional vaping to realize i was a vaper and not a smoker. This was only after I made the decision to work at it, and not just go with what I was "feeling" I needed. There were times when I thought I'd have a mental breakdown, or would be unable to finish the day of work without an analog. Vaping wasn't doing it. I realized though, slowly but surely my body settled into a point where the nicotine coming in, and the withdrawal symptoms all evened out into a very normal, relieved, and calm feeling throughout the day. By that time, even if you go have an analog, it tastes so disgusting and is far less satisfying than a good vape, which will be surprising to you. My nicotine buzz now is no longer a quick jittery one which begins to develop into a withdrawal episode every fifteen minutes. Now I can have about a fifteen drag vaping session, and go close to 40 min/ to an hour without feeling like i'm losing my mind. Even then I only feel like "hm, a vape would feel nice right now", and not "I need a cig! I'm going crazy!" haha.

So you can keep trying to put vaping into your routine with the hope of one day suddenly realizing you don't need cigs, or you can intentionally decide right here and now to deal with all the withdrawal symptoms from those nasty tobacco sticks and let vaping become you.

It is only a few days of agitation. Do your best, it's not as difficult as it seems.

I've been vaping almost a year now and was down to 2 cigs a day at one point. Unfortunately life happened and although I'm still using my ecig I'm smoking more like a quarter to half a pack a day now. (that is still down from 1.5-2 packs a day) I've been trying not to stress about it, but have been a bit lately. If you want to chat feel free to PM me.

+1 on this. I'm into my 3rd week and getting closer. I got 12mg in my 1st order and found I was non-stop vaping and still craving too many analogs, but did manage to go from a pack/day to 1/2 that. My next juice order was 24mg and that really got my mind off those "in the middle" analogs - found my self going 4-6 hours before finally going for the tobacco and dropped to about 6-8 analogs a day. The latest juice order was 36mg and has me to the point of 2-4 analogs a day. Each increase has made the real thing less satisfying. I still like them (analogs) so I agree on that "still have to quit" remark.

What's been improving for me is the first step of thinking I want to smoke and being satisfied by hitting the PV instead. I know the next hurdle is crossing those "must have" analogs off the list as well. And that will take some willpower.

Baby steps :)

My kill switch was equipment. I started with the eGo and thought this was it. I dropped down to maybe 2 analogs a day and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then I started dwelling on the routine of filling carts, carrying juice, napkins, extra carts, etc and getting juice in my mouth, and the analog count went up. So I switched to cartos and figured this was it. Down went the analog count again and I was happy, then the cartos weren't cutting it. I got some bad ones that leaked and had a burnt taste. So then I switched to dripping and it was better, but still a pain to carry juice, napkins, and other stuff with me all the time. And dripping and driving was becoming a safety hazard for eveyone involved. So I made an equipment switch and bought a wetbox. It was heaven, but still posed some issues because it uses a carto. I was loving it, but cartos have a short life span and I was going through them fast. So I finally said "screw it" and bought a full blown juice mod, the Ali'i. That was a week ago and not one analog has passed these lips since. It carries 6ml of juice, a 18650 battery that lasts all day, and it uses 510 attys. Plus it looks really nice and performs like a champ. I've found my nitch that has worked for me. Sure it took some time and investment, but it was worth it. Now my eGo and wetbox gather dust and serve as back-ups. So maybe you need to experiment a little with different PVs. Find one that does it for you. Worked for me.
