Aik, what do you have on your provari? I put a Iclear 16 on mine and I also tried the original Protank both good, I like the Iclear 16 a bit better. just curious what you use on yours. going to try the aspire ce5 next,

Ok, yall are addicting. I'm finishing this sucker, procrastinating doing laundry, cleaning, dishes, paying bills. You pick.

I vape the politically unpopular Vivi Nova on my Provari. I keep going back to them for easy-peasy, no fuss, colorful vape. I can't seem to get a good draw from Protanks (1 and 2), or Puritanks (leak issues too). The draw is great on the Novas. I've also used the Hypertanks with Provari and those come in close second but hold 5ml and if I remember, you like smaller tanks. I do have a couple of carto tanks but not the interest to fiddle with them. I haven't tried the Davide or iClears.

I was tempted to try the BCC -> BDC coil but my mailman lost a vapemail pkg this week. It makes me reluctant to order anything. Of course it wasn't insured. USPS has had my FT order in San Fran for 18 days now .... that just cleared. USPS is having it's own issues. Grrrrrr. Singapore was faster. All the local b&m's are into different stuff; rba's, mech's, protanks or $30 min ego's black/stainless (office supplies). The end. Ugh. Nothing pretty.

I haven't tried iclears yet because I'm reluctant to stock ANOTHER brand of coils. Too much little crap. Based on reviews of protanks, I probably have too many parts already because I'm just not wowed by them. It seems development in the 19mm-22mm diameter tank/clearo area is lagging.

I have my gripper (SMOK $10 mech) that I keep going to and 4 Bauway LR clearo's left that give me the best flavor and vapor. Those Bauway's are only $0.55 each on Alibaba with 100 minimum and I'm sure tempted ... to heck with the lastest and greatest. Give me functional and easy.

From what I've seen on the Provari threads, one of the best looking tanks for a Provari is the IBTanked halflings. Those look so good.

I do have another silver hypertank on the way. I have the black chrome one on my black chrome vamo. Usually I just use novas though. Steady and reliable.

The drip tip makes the mod anyway.

Wow, you guys thought you could escape me but I'm like a bloodhound, I tracked you down. Looks like a busy and productive weekend was had by all. I was a lazy slug. I did watch 24 hours worth of tv drama, although I took breaks to sleep  And did a mountain of laundry.

There is all this talk around me about that horrible white wet cold stuff. They are predicting sleet/snow/ice for tomorrow. Like 6 to 12 inches of it. We will be devastated. If I lose power that means I lose water. And I lose my mind with cries of "I'm bored!!!" all around me. No power no internet, no internet no tv. Eventually all battery-operated devices will die, and I have one outlet in the car I can charge USB plugs with. Ha, will probably kill the car's battery!

Anyway, went to the grocery store at lunch, need to go back tonight because I forgot half the stuff I needed due to fracking weather woes. . .This ought to be an adventure.

Now, I've rambled enough. When I come back later I'll be onto an on-topic sentence or two.

Hi finallyquit! Hey I'm in south carolina a too! Charleston :) I'm dying to see snow though just not dying to drive on to work tom :)

Well guys I seem to be doing ALOT better! Got some killer juice in and his juice isn't bothering my throat at all and it's still a 60/40 mix ??? Lol so lost. Dr gave me steroid pills for my throat so hopefully that helps! Hope to meet everyone in this thread :)

IMO, the safe side of flavorings is none. There's additives being used that aren't transparent which makes it nearly impossible to track down a reaction. It's kind of a pet peeve with me. Some vendors won't disclose even their pg/vg ratio and I just won't buy. I had a big reaction to Boba's and they were no help trying to figure it out. Took nearly a week for my mouth to recover. Very similar to what someone else had with cinnamon. Painful!!!! That kind of crap just sells me on DIYing.

Good for you. Finding successful adv is just as important as finding hardware your comfortable with.

Hello all. I started searching the other thread but got bogged down quickly. I'll just repeat the highlights of my adventures in vaping.

I smoked a pack a day like clockwork, for over 20 years. I smoked and loved it. I smoked and never ever wanted to quit. I still love the way they smell. I still crave the way they made me feel. I used smoking to avoid feeling my emotions (if I got angry or sad or whatever, I just smoked one after the other until I felt normal again) and I used smoking like my crutch. Smoking was my best friend and only companion for a lot of years after I quit drinking. So when I decided to quit it wasn't because I wanted to, it was because "I knew I should" or "for my health" or "because it's too expensive" or "because I can't die like my mother did" but it was always an intangible reason.

I saw a friend at work vaping a pipe mod and got curious about it. I bought some extremely overpriced regular ego kit off the internet with some truly disgusting tasting liquid. I didn't know about ECF yet. So I burnt up or popped every atty that came with my kit, and found a live place to talk about vaping at a local flea market where I actually got good advice and liquid that tasted lots better than the stuff that came in my kit. Wow talk about expensive! Still smoking a pack a day, spending lots of money on vaping but not saving any because still smoking. It began to look like I was getting more nicotine than usual, almost like vaping was supplementing my regular smoking habit.

So an internet search brought me to ECF, and in a really uninspired moment I logged in with this ridiculous username which was a lie for a really long time. I never quit, heck I never even cut back. So I read and read and read and researched and bought stuff and spent a lot of money and still smoked. I don't think I ever said I was still smoking in any of my posts, but I'm sure I lied and said I had quit. I found this thread through a referral on the general forum (I think???) and found a home here fast. The people here were honest and helpful and informative and supportive. If they said something wouldn't work I believed it. If they said something tasted like dirty gym socks I didn't buy it.

Now I DIY all my own liquids because everything I could afford to buy tasted either meh or plain gross. I can make meh and gross for a lot less than buying it pre-made. In all that trial and error of buying liquids I decided what types of stuff I did not like (anything menthol and a lot of fruits) and what I did like (strong, rich, heavy flavors like tobacco/vanilla/coffee etc.) and started buying up flavorings left and right. I DIYed like a maniac for a while, but now I'm sitting on so much already made stuff that I haven't pulled out the mad scientist lab for a long time. I will again soon, because I'm vaping up all the stuff I've been sitting on!

Here's what helped me quit. I needed gear that was dependable, not too fiddly, and that didn't mute flavor too much. I needed a stronger battery (variable voltage/wattage) than my regular ego's. I needed the flavors I really liked and I needed 24 mg nic. I needed WTA for a while, but now I'll leave that for those of you who really need it more than I do. I cut back slowly with the idea that I would eventually get down to 0 cigarettes daily. I needed a real reason to quit and I mean a really good reason. For me it was financial. I literally ran out of money one day and did not get paid for a week. I had all this vape gear and liquids around so I said "I'll just try to go until payday without killing anyone." I gave away the last cig in my pack that day. I came here and cried and screamed and ranted and raved. I got hugged and I got kicked in the rear when I needed it. I got through it. Since then I haven't bought a pack. I have smoked one cigarette a couple times, once at Thanksgiving and once a couple weeks after that. I could do it again, but if I do, I'll be right back at a pack a day habit. I am and probably always will be one bad decision or weak moment away from that pack a day habit.

So that's my really long vaping story. I probably left out a lot, but the gist of it is there. Quitting sucks. Vaping makes it suck less. Having friends to help me through it was the only thing that made it bearable. We borrowed the phrase "embrace the suck" to describe it.

Hi! Very nice to meet you. Good luck with the snow. That word makes me cringe. Anyway since I got all the preparedness covered we probably won't get any. If I had a bare pantry we would get socked in!

I'm glad you're feeling better, keep it going now. Stop vaping the stuff that made you feel like crap. What's this killer juice? We are always looking for a referral you know!

Karen, is it just the size/weight that is important to you, or does the tactile feel come into play? Fasttech has a ton of cig-a-likes that are size/weight ideal (and if you have plenty of time to switch out on chargers they are priced right), but I've found I need the tactile feel of the filter (I hate those hard plastic things) -- which is a huge consideration for me on what to buy.

I don't think the filter matters as much as the size. and hopefully it's only a temp solution to finally get me away from the cigs, I did vape more today with the little one. It only falls short in the power department. I used a Ry4 Tobacco all day and was pretty good with that. I do like a soft filter but I can get cheapo fasttech drip tips. I just have to wait for CHina to "reopen" LOL

What have you tried that you liked?

Walt runs it he's on this forum actually and he was amazingly quick. Like, I put an order in Saturday at 2 am, 930 Saturday morning I had a tracking number and it was in my mail box at 130 this afternoon! He doesn't have a huge selection but he had flavors that interested me. I ended up ordering 9 bottles from him. It helped too because they are cheaper then the other place I bought from and his shipping is alot cheaper too

Karen I have a cig alike auto you can have. It's a 306 so can do 510 threaded stuff. With a 306lr carto it's as close to a cigarette as you can get without a lighter.

I'll try it! I think that those are really short if I am right. I can get a Nano or something like it or just a carto. that should work. Thanks LOX you are a Super Hero! Comes to the rescue!!!!!!!!

Okay - I'm like so . . .

Although I do not post every day or even often here, especially since ost of the time I am in "Lurking" mode - I was actually starting to get a little upset . . .

At first I said - WHAT NO ONE IS POSTING IN THE SUPPORT THREAD . . . NOT NICE ! ! ! :nah:

The only thread that was constantly being updated was the New "PIF group lounge" (BTW: "Lox" You really should capitalize those words in the title . . . and this from someone that is not a grammarian, nor - great at spelling either . . . Just Sayin' . . ;) ) . . . So I thought everyone just left and forgot about taking "Me" with them . . . Then I finally realized I forgot to "Subscribe" to this thread . . .

Well - I've gotten through all the post and have been updated - I may even post "My" re-post story again here (that is if the "Little Cute Blue Bunny" can find it so I don't have to retype everythng) . . . ;)

UNCLE, I know it will kill me, I am sorry, I needed it today.

I have two PV's that check resistance and always check before firing.

Ya'll that are about to make or are in the beginning of making coils, micro coils, nano coils and/or sub-ohm coils PLEASE have a digital multi-meter close by to test for coil resistance B4 you put the new coil on any PV/APV/mech whatever.

Hey guys....I have a question! I got 12 bottles of juice in today....I really want to sample them all. My question it this: can I do it by dripping the flavors on my coil without filing the whole tank? Or will I mess the coil up?

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

I am pretty sure it will mess up the coil, I got a cheap dripper with a 510 connection that I love, they last a really long time.

Yes they're very small. It comes with an atty and cartridges but I'm pretty sure I have a 306 carto or 2 in the drawers somewhere. They run higher voltage than 510's I never really understood why they didn't catch on more. I guess because they're only like 100mah. Although the 306 atomizers are still very popular. I'll get it out in the next day or two.

thanks, I really appreciate it. Maybe this is the answer. I am not going to give up. I believe that vaping works.

Most ppl use just the atomizer with a drip tip. I'm not sure about in a tank. Shari's the dripping pro. I'm sure others will chime in soon with how they test flavors. I use a 510 atomizer.

I have two PV's that check resistance and always check before firing.

Two things:

Putting the wrong resistance self-made coil on a PV has the potential to be dangerous.

Depending on a PV to read the correct self made coil resistance can be dangerous. If a sub-ohm coil is put on an unprotected PV it will be lights out. Almost every PV that purports to read resistance can make an error.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES depend on anything but a digital multimeter to test for resistance. Period.

A cavalier attitude about making and testing your own coils is a bad thing.

Don't mean to sound demeaning but some of the wild-eyed conversations in the threads where the true ecig geeks hang out really concern me. They seem to be the "cloud chasers" and if they are willing to take the risks that go along with that then more power to them. I would really hate to have anyone here injured in any way because of something that has been said in those threads.

The one I am on the interest list for is Shek's round 2. They are being made for this group and a number of round 1 people are back for round 2 so I am in high hopes that the quality will be there. I have also heard varied stories regarding the different Russians floating around. Between the Russian and the Kayfuns there are at least 5 different ones just being offered at Fasttech. I just read recently the sku for a Kayfun had the description changed to a Russian. Too many clones. I have dealt with Shek before and trust him. But thanks, I do hear you.

The people you see blowing out those huge clouds are usually sub ohming which is dangerous. That means they are using an unregulated mod (the battery holding device) and coils that are below 1 ohm, way below.

I am using 28g Kanthal and a single micro coil in a Trident clone that can hold dual coils, and organic cotton for wicks. The organic cotton has never been bleached while the sterile has. I use the Trident on a ProVari that won't fire a coil below a certain ohm so I'm not sub ohming, I think my current coil is about 1.5. I'm getting a pretty decent cloud, way way more than I get on any of my clearos.

Shari, be leery of the Russian 91% clone for now, there is a run of them with a bad center post rubber grommet, I think that is what it is, and a lot of people are having terrible leaking problems, like the whole tank leaking out all over. There are fixes for that but not a great way for someone new to RBA's to start out.

Wow, Claudia, listen to you. I am impressed. Truly, I am. I am going to have to start asking you for help when I get started. I am slowly gathering my courage. The evod coil build was a massive fail. Parts way, way too tiny. On to bigger and better things to try. I have been reading a couple of threads about people's first attempts at coil building. Seems there is more to it than just building a coil that comes in at your ohm level. Sounds like fine tuning and trial and error are going to play a part in this adventure.

Are you building a micro coil, and does your Igo-W have two air holes, one near where each of the two coils go?
You should be able to build a micro coil out of 28 g wire and get plenty of vapor and flavor. If you are using a micro and if your Igo-w has two air holes try covering the one farthest from the coil and see if that helps. Also are you using cotton for wick?
