Lori!!! Long time no see! I thought you'd forgotten all about us. :( I hope things are going okay with you.

There's always something new right around the corner with vaping. You snooze, you lose. Ah, yes....temperature control. I got myself an Evic VT and an ipv4 for temp control and I enjoy them very much. I'm not big on throat hit and I prefer a cooler vape, too. Perhaps this new innovation can get you back into vaping?

I hope you stick around. We've missed you.

Thaya so good to ser you. I will never forget you guys. I had and still have stuff to care for. I will mostly be lurking til I can up to snuff enough to offer my help. thanks for the suggestion. I understand I can't just use any tank. I would want simple like a protank or similar. Never got the hang of dual coil. The juice went all over me. Btw which if your 2 mods are cooler. Thanks

If you build your own coils you can use any atomizer, rda, rba or tank you want to, you just have to use either nickel or titanium wire....no kanthal. If you use replaceable coils you'll have to get one that makes those type of coils.

The coolness of your vape in temp control is pretty much determined by the temperature you set it on. The Evic VT and the IPV4 both have the same temperature range and great battery life. Their main difference is that the Evic only goes to 60 watts and the IPV4 goes to 120 with the upgrade. I can't imagine why anyone would want that many watts, but to each his own. The wattage setting only gives you the set wattage until you reach your set temp (which happens pretty quickly) and then it backs off to keep from going over your set temp, so you're not really getting that much wattage during your vape anyway.

I got an iStick TC 40 watt today for my son. It's small, lightweight and inexpensive. I tried it out and it works just as well as the ones I have. It's a nice way to try out temp control at a small price.

Thaya, I used to not like my watts over 30... but after playing with higher watts because I can I found I like warmer vapes with a cold bubbly drink. And certain bakery flavors with a warm/hot vape makes it seem like im almost eating it. But I know im odd (like the dean koontz series..)

Still don't know anyone local enough to borrow a temp control mod from to determine if I want to upgrade that way.

Need different atty for temp control or just the wire?

If you wrap your own coils you can use any atty you want as long as you use either nickel or titanium wire. Some people who like warm to hot vapes complain that they can't get enough heat on a temp controlled mod without turning the temp up pretty high, which kind of defeats the purpose of temp control in the first place, but it can be done.

Why not try the iStick TC 40W to see if you like temp control? It's only $27.75 and free shipping at Rocky Mountain Vapor with the coupon. It's the cheapest TC mod around and it works the same way. It maxes at 40 watts but turning up the temperature setting gets you a warmer vape. I prefer titanium wire, and you can use it in nickel mode, but you have to adjust the temperature about 80 to 100F lower than you would with nickel.

Hello everyone, mind if I join you? I started vaping here and there about a year ago. I didn't get really far. I had a ego c with some evods and an i taste. It really didnt do it so I still smoked alot. Then i spent two weeks in the hospital and as soon as i came out I lit up. Felt like Crap, saw the disappointment in my families face. Decided to try vaping again, up graded my gear a bit. Now I vape for days without smoking and some days I smoke and vape a little. It's been a journey. Im down to a few packs a week. I'm losing steam though. Juices are my issue now. I've spent alot of money trying juices online that i dont like. Twice I've found a juice that i like but it's always some small shop and after ordering the 3 or 4th bottle it's no longer vapeable. It's like someone different makes it, so it's their own recipe so some bottles are great and others are yucky. Im discouraged a bit because there are just too many online spots to order from. I do not want to end up with more bottles of juices i dont use. The juice I have now is blah. It's okay not good but not nasty either. It also makes my nose run. So im dual at the moment....wishing I had tasty juice that tasted the same every bottle.

Welcome aboard, @GemInEye. It's nice to have you here. I feel your pain. I smoked for over 42 years and got up to nearly 4 packs a day when I started vaping (for the third time). The support of everyone in this thread is what helped me over the hump and resulted in me being smoke-free for over 2 years now.

Even now I also have juice issues. I've bought so many juices from so many vendors trying to find a few that I love. I've given away tons of juice to some people who were in a tight spot and it helped me since it was just collecting dust anyway. I'm not sure if the juices change or my taste buds change, but I experience the same thing you describe. After several bottles of a juice I love, it doesn't seem to do it for my anymore, so I'm always ordering new ones to try out with similar results.

What is your juice profile? I prefer desserts like custards, fruity creams and yogurts, etc. All I can say is to keep trying. Check out the juice swap thread in the PIF forum. You might find some good juices to try while unloading some of yours just taking up space.

Again, welcome to our thread and we hope to see you around a lot. Good luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I guess my profile is sweet tobacco, fruits n fruity, mebtholy things, pastry and coffee, and teas. So far I don't like creams, yogurt, vanilla, cakes, or custards. I have been on the hunt for my perfect tobacco that is sweet with a menthol on exhale.

I am checking out the trade juices thread, and then we'll compile a list of all my bottles and hope that someone will want to trade lol. Thanks so much for your help.

I know I can't take part in the swaps, but it looks like a great thread for those wanting to try new juice flavours.
Juice is one thing I don't have to worry about at the moment. I spent a while today checking out my stock, and reducing the nic in all of it from 18 mg to 12 mg. The iClears and Vivis deliver juice so much better than the Vision clearos, and the MVP 20w delivers more than enough power to make that juice taste good.
Added bonus: I've only had 9 cigs today.

That's right. Do it at your own pace and don't feel bad when you need to smoke. You'll find that you'll need to smoke less and less if you don't feel like you're depriving yourself. It's a journey, not a race. It took me 4 months of dual use to finally kick the smokes. Keep up the good work and it should get easier as you go. :toast:

So very true. I kept smoking for about a month after i first started vaping, anytime I felt like it. But after about 3 wks, everytime I'd light up, I'd wonder why in the hell I was still bothering with the stupid things; they didn't give me nearly the throat hit of my vape, and tasted FOUL, and made my hands stink. I'd be putting them out after about 2-3 drags -- just enough to remind myself how awful they were. I did much the same when I was trying to get over the relapse; it took about a month, just trying to vape more and more times when I'd feel the urge to smoke. I was still at 5 a day and I just told that 3 yr old whining at me in my brain ENOUGH ALREADY. :D
