OK, so I joined another forum about vaping but I just don't think I'm elitist enough for them, everything there is more or less about being on more of the "I spent the most money on some obscure *thing*" than "I got this new gear and this is how I made it awesome" group.

I just can't get in the same category as that and its just not me, glad this place is home and I don't have to lie about anything just to find people with a common interest. Thanks guys.

I'm like that with all the building stuff and diy talk on this forum. I'm just not interested in things beyond plug and play vaping.
I just skim on by and eventually find somewhere to bloviate

I hate to "like" this post. Hope they get it worked out for you quickly!! I'm stalking USPS track and confirm, since yesterday's Electronic Shipping Notice sent to USPS there has been no change. I remember now why I hate ordering online so much!! Too bad the b&m's near here don't carry what I want/am willing to pay for. . .A rant for another day.

So Erised did all your dishes get done? :sneaky:

I know that rant all too well. They say they are shipping the top cap out but I can about guarantee that it will be Saturday before I see it.

Best of luck with vape mail... make sure to wash new drip tips, yuck

I pulled the cap off of my Octopus today to show a co-worker, and...pop! Out came a piece of the silica from the coil. D'oh!

Oh well, guess that means another rebuild! :D

Stopped by Walgreens on the way home from work, picked up some organic cotton balls. Micro coil!

Come to think of it, I might even add some cotton to my RSST to see if I can get it to wick better.

ECF has created a monster :vapor:

Okay, my Octopus is still vaping good even with a missing strand. I chickened out. I did make a microcoil though, just haven't mounted it on anything :D

I also saw a bit of kanthal WAY far away from the SS wick on my RSST. Pulled the coil off and the old wick was making me mad. I rolled a new one (without oxidizing first - YouTube prompted). Took less than 5 minutes to pulse oxidize it and the flavor is much better.

Then I was staring at the cotton I picked up at walgreens. Why not use it? I put a smidge behind the coil/wick, and it completely removed the metal/burnt taste.

My RSST checked out at 0.9 ohm according to my MVP :)

Just need to finish up this tank of MBV 18mg Cinnamon Roll and replace it with something 12mg or less....ouch! :D

I am reading and vaping and reading. Not too much to say. I hope you get that peach to be peachy JJ. And FQ you find something to buy to tickle your fancy and curb those cravings.

I am still in the middle of the quest for a general contractor. I have talked to four more on the phone. Another appointment for estimate for Thursday morning. It seems that there is a trend in middle TN that there are very, very few general contractors that do remodeling, unless you are adding an addition to your home. There were a few listed within 30 miles of me and I called them all. The remodelers are specializing in cabinets, flooring, sheetrock/painting, plumbing, elec., and so on. One interviewed me and I guess did not want to bother with the job. I may have to act like general contractor for this myself.

Just what I need. Some more stuff to learn. I wanted to hand it to one firm. Does not look like that is likely. Does anyone know if this specializing is happening all over the country or is this something peculiar to this area. Or am I just not up to the modern way things are being done today.

I talked to a Home Depot contractor today. The one that would install the island, ran into him at store. He won't do wall and would hire electrician. Looks like he was picked up from a corner and brought in to do jobs. No confidence in his ability to put it together. Would have to hire a different guy to do flooring. This is getting more ridiculous as I keep making more calls and talking to more 'professionals.'

Talked to one place in Nashville. They won't do less than a full kitchen remodel or room addition. Ugh.....

Back to regularly scheduled vaping. Where is Karen? She ok?

I'm having the same problem with my vape mail ... it's on the slow boat from FT, and according to tracking it's left there, is supposed to be here, but according to USPS Tracking all they have (for the last several days) is notice that they are going to receive it.

Yeah, dishes are done ... unfortunately I had to do them all by myself.:glare:

Erised, can I come over and do your dishes???

Shari, after the month you've had--no dishes, but you can come over, put your feet up, and I'll personally make you a drink!

That is going to be rough if you can't get a general contractor ... depending on the workers it can be a nightmare otherwise -- as the GC usually keeps the different companies on schedule and keeps them from stepping on each other's toes.
Is your DH willing to let you take the reins? ... I'm betting that you could pull it all together if you were in charge!

Erised, it sure is looking like I am going to be the general contractor. When we did the upstairs it was a nightmare. Our GC was about 75 miles north of us and it was a bear for the right guys to be on the job at the same time. I was directing traffic and a couple of the guys were borrowing DH tools because if we let them leave to get something, they would not come back for hours and other guys would walk off job. DH ended up with a few saws and hand tools missing. Different guys every other day. The sheetrock taping guy showed up at front door and spoke no English at all, did not even know job was upstairs, no super on job. 8 months of this crap.

Looks like another round of the same. If we do not build the wall back, I think I can hire a flooring contractor, a cabinet man, a handyman to hopefully hook up electrical/plumbing in island, and a painter. And someone to move appliances, furniture out of dining room and living room to a Pods in yard and hauls to dump and reset furniture. Oh, and someone to install another recessed light, hopefully same elec. I think I can do the scheduling of 3 experienced, educated individual contractors. A bunch of guys that do not speak English, no.

I may even get lucky and the contractors will talk to each other. But that is probably a dream. I keep hoping this whole thing is a dream. I would do the painting myself, but my neck and back won't let me. It makes me mad that I can not do something as simple as painting now. I did all that in old house in CT when we moved here 10 years ago. Of course with a couple of friends helping. I had painting party then cookout. Not now.

We keep brushing up against the conversation of selling this place once fixed and moving. I would need to find somewhere that I could get on the expanded Medicaid. I need healthcare. Too sick to work, not sick enough for disability. And to old for employers here to want me even part time. So I have lots of research to do too. Can not go back to CT, could not afford it. Seattle area may be out too. Need to do more research.

I am around, just feeling sick, not sure what it is, heart or sugar, just very tired, feel winded, extremely tired..just can't put my finger on it. Pressure reading at home was actually on 124/74 which is low for me, need to see if it's correct. My back and hips hurt too. Whites of my eyes are very red, not sure why.

I'm reading and here, don't worry not going anywhere

Karen please go to the doctor! Worrying about you lady!!

Tracking was updated last night, whoopee. Might get my WTA in by Friday. FT isn't shipping my Vamo until Friday, might get it before the current one gives up the ghost.

Shari if my s/o was stateside we would come up there and he would whip your contractors into shape. Sucks that you can't find decent help. As always wishing you luck!

Have a fantastic day friends. . .

At first I was thinking that maybe we should take up a wine fund for you, but after reading that I'm thinking maybe a Tequila fund might be more appropriate! It doesn't leave a lot of faith that the quality of workers in that area are such that they'd need to borrow tools. I'm really hoping you're able to find better companies this time around.
