Wow, I can't believe they would block that once you applied for disability. Well, I can believe it -- it's just that doing so is so shady on their part. They are supposed to follow an exact formula for calculating payments, so I'm not sure what their purpose is in blocking it ... did it give you any info as to why when you clicked on it? And here I didn't think my trust in the government could go much lower.

It said it couldn't give info because I had applied for disability benefits. Now, it gives figures for retirement, and disability as of today. I called today they said my case was assigned to a caseworker, progress!

Uhm. Im not sure where redneck hell, il is. Im in Danville, il. Dead center of state north/south, few miles from indiana State line. So far I have liked deserts, most fruits, bakery, and drinks. No cinnamon unless its like powdered cinnamon flavor, no banana. Pretty much anything else ill try

Now that ones pretty good, under 4 hrs according to Google maps, you're just straight north of me... very close to Evansville, In and on the IN, IL and KY state lines lol.

So one desert drink sample it is, do you know what pg/VG and nic strength you want it at?

Thanks Mark and Shari

I think the work trigger is social. Co-workers go outside to smoke, I try to pull out the PV, but a cigarette just comes to mind and I reach for it. This morning, I brought my mech and dripper out. I was able to substitute it for one trip outside (no analog, just vaped). I need to keep that up.

At home, I think I need to fiddle more. Tuesday night, I noticed a problem on my RSST and decided to set it up fresh. I fiddled with it for about 45 minutes, then vaped on it for almost 2 hours. Didn't even have the desire to step outside (the only indoor place I smoke is my garage, which is detached from the house). Last night, my rda wigged out after I tweaked the coil and silica wrong. Rebuild (and fiddle) with that. I put on the first microcoil and ran some organic cotton through it, then whipped up another micro and dual-coiled it. 30 minutes or so of fiddling, then drip, drip, drip. I went 3 hours again. The bedtime smoke still happened though.

The morning smoke is still happening too, probably because my nose and throat are dry from sleeping and vapor tends to irritate (hurt). I'm thinking for that, I should get a drink of water right away when I get up, then hit the PV.

When I was working on my Jeep last weekend, all bets were off. First, dirty hands, second was both hands in use. Wrenching is going to be really hard without some kind of lightweight automatic device. I don't think I want to get a cigalike for that, but I might.

I think I'm going to freshen up my EVOD clearos and my protank mini so I can always have my VV mod at my beck and call. The RSST and the Octopus are too fiddly for when I'm sitting watching TV or something like that. Perhaps having a self-contained minimal maintenance device is what I need for those times.

I'm closer to the elusive ADV, but I still find myself getting bored with a couple juices that I use more often than the others.

I refuse to get angry with myself. Disappointed, but not angry. That's just counter-productive.

You'll get there as and when you get there. Now is a time to find out why you go back. What triggers the desire? What keeps it from passing quickly ? How can those thoughts that race through the mind during moments of weakness can be replaced with correct thinking? What would constitute correct thinking? Basically change the subject in your head when you get a desire to smoke and keep changing the subject until the thoughts work. Each person will have their own road, both physically and mentally and that's a great thing because at some point you'll get a chance to pay it forward.

Agreed, it took a little time but I find certain flavors work at certain times as I've bloviated in other posts. It's a really cool adventure that inadvertently led to me becoming smoke free (day 7 today, officially the last day I'm going to bother to count because in my mind after today I'm a former smoker, end of conversation) after cutting down bit by bit without even really trying because I found something I liked better.
I've still got a tank full of 18mg Cherrywood I vape before bed every now and then if my mind won't shut down but overall I'm down to 12mg as a rule. I've already started ordering repeat flavors in 6mg and as the old runs out I'll drop.
Knowing I no longer "needed" to go outside in the cold and wet to smoke was a huge deal for me. I could choose to smoke inside but chose not to, accepting being miserable and wet to smoke was my deal and wouldn't subject the family to second hand smoke no matter how bad the weather because of my habit. Once I was able to choose not to go outside it was a sense of freedom . I wasn't making the choice to smoke or not, was making the choice to subject myself to the environment that would lead to a smoke.
Ugh, trying out everything with new wicks! It was fun but my taste buds are taking the day off now. I went back and made new wicks this morning using less cotton, tried everything out, suddenly (like a light switch turning off literally in 1 puff) everything was like inhaling water vapor. No taste, no throat hit, no nothing. I've got a slight metallic taste in my mouth and nothing more. Gonna try drinking a second cup of coffee and eat some whole wheat and all natural peanut butter crackers. That black coffee and crackers combination is taste bud heaven to me. I don't know why but it just is.

Have you had any earned income in those past two years? Since January 2012. If not, I think the posted numbers may be correct. Unless they do some kind of creative accounting. You should be getting a monthly award and a lump sum back payment that will come in a separate check. I am not sure how many months back they pay you for. I know it has changed fairly recently. Your atty would know how many months of back lump sum you can expect.

I do not know how far back they pay medical. I would ask if old medical bills can be attached from your lump sum or monthly checks. If they can, I would ask about filing bankruptcy now. Once you file, they can not attach future funds. You do need to ask your atty about this as it is different in different states and my knowledge is old. Laws probably have changed.

Are you feeling a bit better? I hope so. This has got to be scary for you. I get a bout of Angina or my left side of my face goes numb and I go into a panic. I do pray for you for what it is worth.

I know they are going back to January 2012, That is the date of wheelchair script written, was using one prior but not officially. It wasn't documented prior to that. The Atty does not get a financial record other than a date.

Of interest, I had set up a SS account online a few months ago and check it regularly for info. Prior to yesterday there was never any info, said you are not currently receiving benefits. It also tells you what your benefits will be when you retire or become disabled. If I clicked on that link prior to yesterday, I could not get that info since I had applied for benefits, As of yesterday, there are figures there. So, maybe I am a step closer and can rely on what I saw. It said if I became disabled today. So that figure could be off since I was disabled two years already according to SSI.

Shari is right about your attorney having the answers (even though he doesn't know the amount yet) - but he will - he wants his cut lady. As for bankruptcy, there was a major overhaul in the bankruptcy code about 8-10 years ago.....but it can't hurt to ask. Not saying you wouldn't qualify....it's a major hassle now with credit counseling and still a percentage payback even under Chapter 7.

You may be in redneck hell, I am in TN hell right now. Not all that far from you. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the advantages of a micro coil or a few wrap regular, why one is better than another. I think because micro exposes more coil surface to the heated liquid. My flavor taste has been honed on Joye 510 attys at 2.3 ohms. I would like to try something lower, like 2.0 or 1.8 ohm. But why and what difference will it make. I am confused. And reading does not seem to be clearing up my confusion. Just adding to it.

I know lower ohms is hotter and you can use lower volts. On my 2.3 ohm attys I am around 4.8 volts for most juices. I could go higher on the tobaccos. My little 18350 batteries are getting a real workout; I feel like all I do is change batteries.

What is the difference of vaping at 1.4 or 1.8 ohms and using a lower voltage, and vaping a 2.2 or 2.4 ohm coil and using a higher voltage.

Does one burn battery life quicker? Does one fry your juice easier? Why sub ohm or go down to 1.0 ohms?

Who am I and why am I here. What is the meaning of life. (Sorry all, could not resist.)

Igo-l...check. Cotton...check. Close enough for mail in a week...check. I should just wrap a coil and send it out to you, or a couple lol

You sound like you are approaching this in a rational and organized and intelligent way. That is good for 80 to 90% of the time. The other percent is chaos. You need to have something to grab and vape, period, no fiddling. A few disposable drippers, an evod or clearo on a battery you can just grab and vape. Stick 18 or 24mg in it if you want. You may only need to use it a couple of times a day in the beginning and then it may sit for days at a time.

With my 510 attys, I had 3 or 4 of them primed, depending on what flavor profile I was vaping that day. And I would take an atty off my battery and put on a new one if my flavors died. I would put the other one aside and try it a day or two later, sometimes it was just fine. It might have been my tastebuds or a particular flavor of the moment. During stress or boredom I need vape and go.

That is the main reason I have not tried to build a coil or rewick my Igo-L yet. If I screw it up or get frustrated I am too stressed and fragile to deal with it at this moment. So I am still using my dependable 510 attys until it all calms down. Hopefully soon.

Thanks Mark and Shari

OK, let's break this down step by step. Here's the good news, you pretty much understand it already.

Yes, the micro coils do allow more surface contact with the juice and therefore more juice to be vaporized at one time; however, it does not mean that you will have to go lower in ohms.

A good micro coil can perform similar to a "normal" coil (with spaced out wraps) that is nearly .5-1 ohm lower in resistance. That's not saying that your battery life will improve much since you will actually be heating up a larger mass of wire, but it shouldn't get much worse. As for the battery life, I would suggest trying a quality 18650 battery if your APV can use that size.

On that note though, I vape around 1.3 ohms with a dual nano coil dripper and my batteries last around 8-12 hrs before I start to notice a difference in performance, at which point they normally measure around 3.8 volts.

****

Now using lower power on a lower resistance coil will be similar in performance to using a higher power setting with a higher resistance coil. I think the vv mods (from spinner styles to high end APV's) is something developed when people were using mainly stock coils from the factory, and still wanted to customize performance. Basically, if you wanted the same performance out of a 1.5 & a 2 ohm coil, all you had to do was adjust the power.

For the 2.3 ohms at 4.8 volts, that would be similar to around a 1.2 ohm coil at 3.8 volts. (Google "Sweet spot heat calculator")

As far as going to sub-ohm, the most of that is a cloud-chasing thing and I cannot advise that you even consider it with an 18350 battery as its pretty damn unsafe.

I guess the easiest thing would be to send you a coil or two and let you try them, nothing hard if you would like to give it a shot.

Hope that helps.

I do know that there are limited circumstances where Social Security and especially Disability Social Security can be attached or garnished. You may have to look 3 places, Federal, State, and on the Social Security website. And the bankruptcy code. Those go by State, I do not think the Feds get involved there. I could be wrong on that one. I think the big changes Jazz talked about were Federal. There have be many changes since Obama has come into office. Most changes to Social Security fly under the radar, on purpose. And many got lumped under the Obamacare fiasco. It is a political hot potato. Your atty should know the answer to all of these.

Shari is right about your attorney having the answers (even though he doesn't know the amount yet) - but he will - he wants his cut lady. That has helped an immense amount. I read and read and read. I try to understand but I am not a numbers girl. So it looks like I am pretty normal and in line with what a lot of my other vaper friends are doing with their 1.0 and 1.2 and 1.4 ohm coils. I am vaping in the same ball park and just did not know it.

I am not a cloud chaser. Yeah, I like to see a little poof and watch the vapor play across the light in the room, but if the flavor is not there, I am done. Don't care. I got addicted to dripping my first week of vaping and that is all I do. I suffer when I am not at home and have to use an evod. Not optimum any more. I am spoiled. I only like a couple of vendors' juice. And only some of those. Bah.

I am using a Provari Mini, so as far as I am concerned it is all the firepower I need or want. I do have an MVP2 for backup and a couple of Spinners. The toppers is my challenge. I am also fickle enough to not want to 4 ml of anything in a tank now. My Russian 91% will be here around Mother's Day so by then I should be ready for it. I have a sole Protank 1 in its original box, never used. And heads. Sometimes I think I hit too hard or too often and I get burnt tasting hits from my evod. Or the flavor is so muted it is not worth it to me.

I know I will not rebuild protank or evod heads. Tried a couple of times and they are too tiny and too many pieces to make it worth it for me. And Kanger keeps changing the heads and setups. I have a good amount of heads so I will just use them for out and about until I run out of heads down the road. I will save the heads for someone else to rebuild and enjoy.

I am rambling. Sorry.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Who are these people that vape at 20 to 30 watts? How many volts is that? That sounds as extreme as the sub ohm crowd. Me, I am more of a middle of the road person with an occasional side trip.

Í

Just an FYI:

From "My" professional and personal experience with Social Security Disability, more specifically their "Case Workers" . . . When the Government assigned "You" a "Case Worker" from SS, just know that their primary focus and function is not to protect or specifically help the "Client" - they are there to "access" what can and cannot be paid to the person receiving benefits, especially to make sure the person receiving a Disability Benefits get ONLY what is "due" them No MORE and if at all possible less . . . IMO - They will pick at each and every word that is said during the inital intake interview to trip up the individual . . . Case inpoint - such as the difference between "Loans" and "In-Kind" gifts which have been provide over time to someone to help them out - be it from Family/Friends/Acquittance's. . .

With "Loans" these "Case Wokers" usually see any exchange of money or bill payment from "Family" as an "In-Kind" gift (I KNOW THIS ALL TO WELL) . . . The same can almost be said of those "Loans" and/or bill payments made by "Friends" . . . ALL "LOANS" - Should and must have some form of documentation to show and prove that they were Loans with all the additional criteria - When loan was made, HOW MUCH, IS THERe ANY INTEREST TO BE PAID (if Not - Why Not), When the loan must be paid back . . . It has been "My" experience that they will do whatever they can to say the were "In-Kind" gifts and will never follow-up - nor admit to their mistakes/error in judgement . . . Even when You appeal the decission and ask for a hearing . . .Just Sayin' . . .;)

Now if anything is seen as "In-Kind" gifts - These are deducted and the monthly amount awarded is then lowered by 1/3 (until it is proven other wise) and "You" will only get 2/3's of the amount for that specific month (that also happens when and if "You" report any gift that amounts to over $20.00 - some say $50.00 - that amount it is then deducted or is seen as an "In-kind" gift and a 1/3 of "Your" benefits can be deducted in that given month) . . .

Example: If someone has a "Roommate" the question becomes - What are they sharing ? Who is paying Rent and how much ? Half or a Third ? Are they sharing a Bedroom? Or is there a Seperate Living area ? Is someone just renting a Room ? If renting a Room - How Much are they paying for that Room? Does the individual have certain privileges ? Just Rent or anything else . . . And/Or - Are they equally paying their fair share of expenses? Do they share a phone or have their own (given that there are now Cell phones) ? Do they eat together ? Separate Food ? DO they share paper products, cleaning products, etc, Who pays for what . . . If each person pays their fair share - Full benefits . . . If NOT - It is seen as an "In-Kind" Gift . . .

Okay moving on to the question and as for filling for "Bankruptcy" and the like - Once "You" have been declared Disabled and/or there is documentation when you started receiving SSDI/SSI Benefits - NO ONE CAN TOUCH THAT MONEY - Except The Government . . . Under the SS Act: "These benefits help people cover their basic living expenses, benefits that according to the Social Security Act cannot be levied, attached, or garnished in any way. Accordingly, this disallows creditors from repossessing an individual’s S.S. benefits in an attempt to collect on their debt." (The Effects of Bankruptcy on Social Security Disability Benefits - Social Security - Hollins Legal). . . There are very few exceptions to that LAW . . . A more thorough Google search and/or a search on the Social Security web site can help "You" make a decision ( Here is one example: Are My Disability Checks Safe From the Bankruptcy Court? | Disability Secrets) . . .

Of course - If "You" have one, always check with an Attorney or with "Your" local "Legal Aid" (who "You' can get help from in understanding your rights in these types of situations too) to make sure - they may also be able assist you with going ahead with a bankruptcy if really needed . . .

Update on DH friend Rich that is using the cigalike from Lox. He is using it and liking it. Down to last 2 cartridges and I do not know what the thing is or where to get a new one. He is strongly and loudly resisting taking one of my spinners and the plethora of juices and evods that I can shower on him. Is Not Interested. Wants the cigalike, period.

So I am at a standstill. I am not going to be buying him cigalikes when he could have a better choice of flavors and options from the B&M named Shari. H$ll, I will probably buy him a couple. Stubborn guy, that he is. I am stubborn too. He says that he has smoked only one pack of cigarettes in the last 3-4 days, so that is progress.

The World is not fair. Why is NLV out of Gold for a few weeks now. And why won't The Plume Room put up a flavor I want on their Flavor of the Week. And why does it take China 12 weeks to make a Russian 91%.

I am taking a much needed break from complaining about local contractors and insurance companies. That will resume soon I fear. I am debating with myself on whether I should bump my nic level back up for a while. I am afraid if I do that now, when I really need to all the choice I will have is a cigarette or a baseball bat.

Thank you Lox. I have to telephone him now. Hopefully he is not throwing the little things out. He is not a hoarder like me. This would be such a blessing if I could refill them for him.

You can refill the cartridges - just a few drops on filler until it's saturated.
If I recall right I sent a 306 so it's same thread as a 510 and standard 510 cartomizers will fit.
The tobacco in prefilled is USA mix

Which One is it ? ? ? I have a few "cig-a-likes" that I WON in a couple of contest (besides SI Volts) that I have been waiting to PIF to someone in need . . . They are "Blaze" Premium/Menthol rechargeable-refillables (also a "Cuban Cigar") and also "Smoke Sik" Disposables - last but not least a couple of "NJOY" Regular/Menthol . . . I will send them all to "You" for Him . . . :D
