shari, you can move the router/modem power cord if you want. just know it will take ~2 minutes to come back online. (should be less than 5 for the modem and phone to come back. i dont deal with cable phones anymore, it took less than 5 for comcast to re-connect after a power failure, but it should have a battery in it to keep it from taking so long). as long as the unknown cord is the pc power you can move it. if its the desktop power please PLEASE power off the pc before unplugging the power. (you have no clue how many times i have heard people yank out the power cord to a pc while its still on then freak out when they have data loss)
