Ive only been vaping for a month and joining here I noticed the same thing. Alot of people frown upon those who still smoke.

I personally dropped my analogs from a pack a day to around 4 a day. Mostly 1.

Ive also gotten around 5 of my friends to vape, who were all smokers and only 1 quit entirely. The rest were cutting it down tremendously as well. Mind you we're very nrw to this.

I sincerely hope I manage to quit it entirely, considering my dad passed away due to lung cancer from smoking strong clove cig, I would be the first person to vote for quitting analog altogether

So I've been experimenting with cola flavors. Cherry cola and vanilla cola came out pretty good but the lime cola is downright yummy. So here's a question for you guys - ever have a juice that seems to be dry? Feels like its drying out your entire mouth. Almost like your vaping cotton. if so what was it?

I have one tobacco that's too "dry" - whatever that is. I've read comments that a little saline helps make a juice feel "wetter" and I've ordered some inhalation saline from Amazon to try a few drops.

I am still a dual user, security blanket, I know and have had a few hits from vapers about smoking, but each has their own journey, mine is just a longer walk with more forks in the road.
Not losing hope, I know one day I will be cigarette free! And like I have heard many on this thread the one cig I don't smoke is worth the journey!

Well done indeed
Think of all the cigarettes you have not smoked. Think of all the tar that you have not put into your lungs. That is just great!
And getting your friends to vape: alright!

I am very sorry to hear about your dad.
We are the lucky generation: we now have an alternative to smoking tobacco. And we are happily using it.

Vape on!

My dad was 59, also too young.

To young indeed, my dad was 60.....just curious if he was in the armed forces or did any work around asbestos? Or even coal?
The reason I ask is because my dad was a navy man and worked around jet fuel, he also worked in a coal mine as a kid and he did havoc work for the government... I know that you add that to his smoking and that is a disaster!

Yes, isn't it just wonderful? :) And such a nice new hobby, too.

WARNING ( :D ):
By being in a vapers forum, you may contract "Shiny Acquisition Syndrome" The symptoms are as follows:
vaper reads in forum - in some thread, vaper discovers nice shiny vaping equipment - said vaper does not own said nice shiny vaping equipment - BAM! the Shiny Acquisition Syndrome will kick in - and the vaper will not rest until he / she owns said nice shiny vaping equipment :D

For many gentlemen, that is, for example, a nice big mod.
For many ladies, that is, for example, some nice vaping equipment in just the color to go with that wonderful new sweater.
Or - for both sexes - a drip tip that is so great that a vaper even orders one from abroad: Don't go there! Shiny Acquisition Syndrome Warning :D

Dangerous disease, let me tell you :D But still a lot better than having one's money go up in smoke.

Everyone has their own challenges and inspirations. FQ's story was for me because she didn't go smoke free for over a year. Then it happened. Thaya found the right device. Everyone has a story. I got real sick right after starting to vape and I know it wasn't from vaping. It happens to some degree everytime I quit. But this was worse and I hadn't tried to quit for sometime. So if anything, that told me I did need to quit. Complicating matters was probably a PG allergy that I really wanted to ignore. There's a huge difference in my comfort level when it's PG free and now I'm fudging again with up to apx 10% PG just cause it tastes so good. (I really don't think it's PG as much as the more complicated and developed flavors have PG in them). But I have a history of allergies including drug reactions and vaseline (parabean). Those were hurdles.

Add to that, the attention span and patience of a gnat. I understand concepts behind coil building and what not, but seriously, if it's not ready to go out the door with minimum fuss - on the same level of a cig - then I'm buying a pack. I'm not going without so that leaves one option. I've actually gone backwards in hardware, to ego's and clearo's for that reason. It keeps live simple and I can treat them like throw aways ... EXCEPT I am discovering it's hard to stay in front of products being discontinued. AARRGGHH. One thing or another. I can't find my favorite little clearo anymore. It's hard to find them to fit 510's vs. Ego. Then I found I16's - the world is good. Nope, those are getting sparse. On the clearo development front, the future is bleak.

But I think you get the picture. We all have our own hurdles. What might seem minor to one can be major to another. Then it depends on what else is going on. I was a stress smoker and likely still am. That's my big NEED for a smoke. I was trying to explain to someone else on the forum that dual use isn't a bad thing (technically it does reduce benefits from quitting) and I think it's because the majority of my day is spent "quitting" now. It's not an on or off thing like it can be with NRT's. So I have a smoke, the next time it'll be a vape - so what? It doesn't feel like falling off the wagon for me.

I know others tend to view it differently and that's fine too. One of the nice parts about this being in a support form is that it's ok, whatever floats your boat. I know who doesn't want to smoke and can encourage them not to. I know who is ok with moderate smoking and will respond that it's ok, don't worry. It's whatever works for you.

Besides, I think this forum is the fastest way to get your "likes" count up.

I started working for my dad in the 6th grade doing various forms of printing. I was dx'd with emphysema before I was 14, before I smoked. I'm not sure what those chemicals were back then but I'm pretty sure that had a lot to do with it. I know they were taken off the market.

Yes, yes she did :p

Well, I did keep a bunch of you all on your toes! And I was the resident vampire for months. Still am, pretty much. I do remember lots of help and encouragement. This is my home thread and I could not have picked a better one. So glad I got adopted.

We like to say around here that each one of us has our own journey. There are many paths you can take to get to your goal and you decide how long you want to take to get there. We are here to provide assistance, guidance, atta boys, and just plain old conversation and walk with you on that journey. (And sometimes a kick in the pants, if necessary.)

Welcome to the thread and stay and chat a while. I spent my first couple of weeks here while chain smoking and getting help and advice on what my first setup should be.

You get dancing bananas for milestones! We provide that exclusive perk free of charge!
